How would a Magic the Gathering format like this work out?

>All cards cost 1 mana and have a CMC of 1. The cost is based on any color of the card (So a blue red card costs your choice of either one blue or one red)
>All numbers on a card are replaced with 1 (so all creatures are 1/1s, lightning bolt does 1 damage, etc.)
>All cards with X are replaced with 1, (so a card with XR in the cost, costs 1R and the X effect can only be 1).

What are the best decks and interactions in this format?

helix pinnicle seems decent

How good would emrakul + friends be in this format? Would it be a combo to chain emrakul's into eachother?

That would be a very very irritating format, since you'd have to rely entirely on Spirit Guide effects to get rolling. Mulligan hell.

But everything would cost 1 mana, you wouldn't need that many lands. I would see it being a spell heavy format. Also spawnshire of ulamog would be instantly banned.

Lands are cards.

He probably meant all non-land cards.

That's not what he posted.
His ruleset makes lands cost 1 undefined mana.

No need to be so pedantic, its pretty obvious he didn't mean for lands to cost mana.

Eh. Derp/10.

Feels like this is all leading up to how this format is basically Yu-Gi-Oh, and why Yu-Gi-Oh is better.

One more thing to note
>lands are the only exception, and do not cost any mana, but any numbers in a lands text will still be changed to ones.

It'd be nothing but spirit-guides and Eldrazi and the first person to go and drop more than one eldrazi wins because Anihilator 1 on a 1 drop is OP.

Pic related would be the single best card.

Best deck would be some kind of U/W control shell. Shit like cyclonic Rift, extra turns cards, and then just white token generation. Ezpz.

Why not a format where you can only play spells with cmc 1?

That sounds stupid as fuck.

Dies to removal

That's not darksteel reactor

:^)

>Chalice on 2
>In a format where everyone is 1cmc.

I'd imagine there would be a pretty big ban list in this format. This, emrakul, and any other effect that says "you get an extra turn," would probably have to be instantly banned.

Best deck would be taking turns with spawnshire of ulamog as a finisher.

Did some testing, extra turn effects need to be banned. Every game ends on turn 1 with them.
