I do it. One of them is our Druid, who's the absolute nicest character, and player, in the group, and also the longest living character in the party. The other started out with a generic Half-Elf Bard with a mildly abusive backstory, but as time when on she made better and better characters. I'm guessing that that's the female equivalent of everyone's first Dual-Wielding Katana character they make.

They actually joined the group together as best friends. The second one is actually leaving because of her new job. We're actually pretty sad to see her go, but we're wrapping up the current campaign in the next two session, giving her a good send off, and then bringing a new guy into our group, and a new campaign.

I was in a gaming group that was majority female for a while. 3 chicks, 2 dudes (me and the GM).

No drama. No BS. It was an awesome Shadowrun game.
Eventually people moved away/started working more and our schedules drifted so we all sort of stopped playing, but we stay in contact.

My regular group usually includes 1-2 female players now too.
I really have no idea where this stereotype that "girls cause trouble at the gaming table" thing comes from.

The absolute worst I've had is some chicks trying it out because their boyfriends were into it, deciding they didn't like it much and stopping. Also, a tendency to be less rules-savvy than male players, but frankly only about half of my male players study the rulebook anyway so I don't really care.

Worst I had was just someone who liked the spotlight a lot, but didn't have anything worth keeping the spotlight on her. She got fed up when she couldn't figure the game out and left.

She worships Kat Von D and strives to look like her, married rich so she doesn't work, is always talking about opening a comicbook store that's also a trendy cafe.

I've played with plenty of women, and majority of my experiences were ranging from "meh" to positive. However, there's that ONE bitch.

I've pitied her at first, but then I've slowly started realizing that she's often fishing for attention. There were a few times, for example, when she was told to either calm down or turn off the mic, so we won't have to hear her crying. She turned it off... Only to turn it on again five seconds later. She didn't have anything to say - she was simply loudly sobbing for us to hear.
The last straw was when her latest episode chased off the actually good female rookie, who basically said "I've wanted a gaming group, not a support group". That was the moment when the majority of us decided that we aren't obligated to put up with this shit either, and we would rather have the rookie back.

I think it's attention seeking behavior some girls who get into it do, but really it's not just on the girls for that, it's also the guys who fall for it.

the "I'm cute, play my character for me" thing is annoying but not usually disruptive, unless guys start fighting over her. still not that terrible if she really is cute.

those two things are the only problems I've ever had with female players, and it's not like guys are inherently drama free either.
