Bogata Remembrance edition

And I fucked up linking the previous thread.

Fuck me.

How would you stat something like this? I want to make a Nartaki Gun-Adept with the Spider as his mentor spirit who uses four of them.

Not only that, you fucked up the OP. You barely changed anything at all! Where are the new funny filenames?

You're demoted. I don't want you ever posting the OP again, we clear?

I'm a little insulted. I put actual effort into making that corporate SINner themed OP in the last one. Try a little harder next time.

Also, So yeah. Why are people still whining about not having Cutting Aces and False Flag when someone put it up on 7chan?

Too drunk for creativity. You want it done better, you do it yourself chummer.

Uh...only burst fire otherwise stat like one of the colt pistols. I'd have to check but they probably have a 1911 clone in there somewhere. As for using four, do you mean two of those monstrosities or literally using four of them? Because if you're actually using four at the same time.....I'm not sure.

Eh, I'll write up a themed one tomorrow and then someone can post it when this one eventually dies.

Any preferred theme? I've been on a fire mage kick recently. The pink mohawk variety.

C'mon man. It's eight barrels of fun! Thought an octopus might be more appropriate for that than a spider.

5e Returns Hong Kong rules in Chummer when?

>These are pack tactics for social wolves.
Catalyst is as up-to-date on their biology as ever, I see.

What's your runner hoping to get from Santa for Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Winter Solstice Festival?

Well I've never messed with anything that had more than two hands so I have no clue how that would affect the use.

But yeah, as for actual stats? I'd go with the Colt Government 2066 or Browning Ultra-Power and then change their fire mode to burst fire, make it fire only two bullets for the burst, and then balance recoil and defense penalty as you feel appropriate.

A group to play.

Oh, and I almost forgot, double the ammo capacity.

An actual game instead of being fiddled around with in chummer forevermore.

Shush, don't point out my incompetency

I'll take a different tack here. Going to say no burst fire because both bullets are fired on the same trajectory and are therefore no harder to dodge than a single bullet.

>Statted as Colt Gov 2066, +1 dv, double ammo consumption, cannot accept additional barrel mods

what's your favorite type of face

Humans or Elves because I like being able to build competent characters with enough money to buy a ham and cheese sandwich.

I read that as race. I don't take back what I said though. And as far as I'm concerned there are only two types of faces: Pornomancers and not-faces.

Well I'd be willing to run one with you user. It'd be on roll20 unless you know a better thing to use. Biggest issue is that I'm in college and I'm about to get a job. Not sure if I'll have the time.

The edgy assassin type. You know, the one that kills you and walks away without anyone knowing what they looked like.

Basically Joey's agent from Friends.

Face/sam, a la Sally Shears.

Have you ever actually used a DocWagon Contract in a game? I'm having trouble justifying the price tag in character gen.

A'ight, all the books are now up, because I am not good at what I do.

The kind with First Impression and Bland - just another face in the crowd, but someone who is damned good at being social.

Yeah, and it saved the team's life. We got our shit pushed in by a corp-sponsored running team in neutral territory, and they left us to bleed out (we later found out they were paid to send a message, not kill us). We all had DocWagon contracts, and as a result, we all ended up in hospital and were back to our jobs within a month.

I just looked up a youtube video compilation about her and now she is my favorite too.

So, a ghoul rigger who uses drones to do almost everything in public so he doesn't accidentally infect someone who happens to have a paper cut. Yes or no?

>uses four of them.
Don't. For every extra weapon you use, your dicepool gets split. Use two guns, you split your dicepool in half, meaning you need 18 dice to have 9 dice for each gun. Three guns, you need 27 dice. To competently shoot 4 guns, you'd need 36 dice. I do not know how you would ever get 36 dice, and I do not wish to know either.

Sounds cool but cash intensive. Could also have all sorts of other difficulties.

you basically described the whole scenario right there. sounds boring?

A ghoul that's worried about that should get a dermal sheath to keep the infectious blood in, a clean metabolism to minimize sweat, and an internal air tank so they don't have to exhale in public. Reduces the risk of infecting others to practically zero.

Hey I wanna join a 5e campaign, I am planning on checking roll20 and runnerhub etc but am also asking if there's availabilities on here. Any takers?

I'd be willing but I'm Dunno if I'd have the time.

I could also run 4e.

>A'ight, all the books are now up, because I am not good at what I do.

Thanks, Fish.

No worries, man.

>A ghoul that's worried about that should get a dermal sheath to keep the infectious blood in
FFBA with YNT Softweave and a medkit will do nicely without essence loss.

>so he doesn't accidentally infect someone who happens to have a paper cut
4e, this is the case. 5e, HMHVV3 is contagious on contact, no wounds.

Can't really wear that in polite company, though.

A nice new technomancer sourcebook.

noice
Someone get it and tell me if GOD shows up knocking

You can. Reread FFBA.

Okay, let me rephrase. The parts of the ghoul's body most likely to infect others can't be blocked by body armour without visible gloves and a facemask, which a) draws attention and b) really detracts from, say, casually hanging out with your buddies.

You're all thinking too hard. It's really quite simple.

Any advice for good insect spirit hijinks? One of my players took an allergy to bee stings and the words evil bee wizard are too funny to only use once.

Use the nano Armor with the Sealant-Mod.
Wear a Tuxedo, then you can wear fitting gloves.

There is a custom gas mask in Cutting Aces that has the appearance of an Elven Face, use that to cover your head.

>It's really quite simple.

There are rules?

> What's your runner hoping to get from Santa
Sexy elf babes.
Totally not as a way of copping with the fact that the girl he actually wants won't give him the time of day. No sir, not at all.

>The parts of the ghoul's body most likely to infect others
Standard shots go to centre mass.

>without visible gloves and a facemask
Gloves are acceptable. Respirators and other face coverings are common AF.

A new fucking sword. Last one broke .

Samuel L. Jacksons character in The Negotiator.

I love you.

>that face
Of good, it's like I walked right into Innsmouth

Bi-yearly check in:

TMs still dumb to play? That TM book still not out?

Yes
No

There is provisional errata out there (in the official Forum in the errata section) that reduces Fading Drain by a huge amount.
If you are allowed to play with these rules, they might be pretty viable, albeit still lacking the additional stuff that is supposed to be covered in the TM-Splat.

An HK XM30. 'bout time too.

Well, alright. Thanks for the answers.

How useless are shaleshifters?
Really Bad?
Regeneration is ok but stay in humanoid form forever?
Kill all furries?
Or.... Viable

>shaleshifters

Shale is shit tier. You'd be better off with a brecciashifter or a sandstoneshifter.

Really bad, unless you want to go for some gimmicky build like Bear-Who-Walks-Through-Walls.

Shifting is sub-optimal, too. Shovelling is where it's at.

You have to ask yourself whether you want to play a shapeshifter more than you want to throw the absolute maximum number of dice possible. Shadowrun's a flexible enough system that you don't need to minmax to have fun unless your GM is shit.

Well if you know what you can do with shale it's pretty good, but being a slave in the mines of the Lotus is pretty shitty

Does firing a vehicle mounted gun as a rigger that's jumped into the vehicle count as remote operation?

Yes.

>Mr. Johnson hires you to deliver toys to an orphanage in the barrens
>gangers will probably try to steal them, so be ready to gun them down
>toys must be delivered by one of you coming down the chimney dressed as Santa Claus
>the ideal candidate for the hand-off will be sneaky, actually have St. Nick's physique, not be averse to eating milk and cookies and not have a habit of spouting profanity all the time
So, which member of your party is putting on the red suit?

The ogre from the black forest troll republic, though he might modify the chimney to fit his physique

It'll default to the human gunslinger.

Our shaman-cum-face would be ideal mannerism-wise, but she's an elf lady so it won't fly. The ork sam is a bit too crude and a bit too cybered up to play the part convincingly (and he'd probably get stuck trying to go in through the chimney). And the technomancer is a teenager, which won't do either.

What's the best, most effective way to make a character who can completely and totally change their own appearance? Something that doesn't requires sustaining a spell, ideally - something that'll keep working even if you temporarily lose consciousness.

I presume the Toys are filled with PepperPunch dispensers and a K10 Injector in the biggest one?

Probably the Cyborg-Sam

There are rules.

Well, let's examine that.

Exceptional Attribute (Agility) and the genemod for more Agility for an unaugmented maximum of 8 Agility, and an augmented maximum of 12.

The appropriate quality to start at Pistols 7, plus a Reflex Recorder for 8, and a Specialty for a +10 from the skills side of the equation.

+2 from an implanted Smartlink.

And then +6 from Improved Ability (Pistols), the adept power, because you can't have more than Magic levels in a power, even if the power's theoretical maximum is (Ranks in skills * 1.5 rounded up).

So, out of chargen, that's 30 dice for shooting pistols. After that, in-play, you can spend karma initiating and buying up additional skill ranks to further progress on up to 36, though it would be prohibitively expensive.

The hypothetical maximum, with 13 skill ranks and 20 levels of Improved Ability, is 50 dice, but that would require Magic 20 and a literally-best-ever skill rating.

I'm going to add further dissent. Flechettes are regularly used to represent things like buckshot. That's a flechette pistol. Check the Remington Roomsweeper.

I'd play the shit out of that. Get me some of that Ghoul Reaction, yes please.

Shapeshifters don't get Regeneration anymore in 5e without a GM willing to houserule it back in.

Personally, I like well-played shapeshifters when the player's looking to embrace, rather than ignore, the fact that they're literally an animal, and also don't turn it into a sex thing.

Admittedly, that might not leave a very wide range of overlap.

>Does firing a vehicle mounted gun as a rigger that's jumped into the vehicle count as remote operation?
There's no official ruling on the matter, and the rules as written contradict themselves extensively.

The community consensus is that it does count as Remote Operation, and does use Logic rather than Agility, but this is a consensus by the game's players, not based on some Word of God telling us how it's intended to work.

My troll physical infiltrator/contortionist will finally have his moment to shine!

Whole bunch of cyberware.

Wait, Ghouls have the Reduced Senses critter weakness (from Core Rulebook, page 401), not the Blind Negative Quality (Run Faster, page 153). That means they actually can just get cybereyes to restore their vision - they don't have a Quality to buy off. That's a gamechanger for me.

remember that because of regeneration cyber can get rejected. Have to get betaware of higher I think

They finally errata'ed that?

Rejection only happen to augs already present in the body at the moment of transformation. Any cyberware gotten after that suffer no rejection (unless the Infected has the Regeneration power).

>remember that because of regeneration cyber can get rejected. Have to get betaware of higher I think
Ghouls don't start with Regeneration - you can elect not to purchase it.

>They finally errata'ed that?
Nope, it's the actual rules as written.

>Gained Weaknesses: Allergy (Sunlight, Moderate), Dietary Requirement (Metahuman Flesh), Reduced Senses (Blind), –1 Logic, –1 Charisma

That's Reduced Senses from the Critter chapter of Core, not the Blind Quality from elsewhere in the book.

>Shapeshifters don't get Regeneration anymore in 5e without a GM willing to houserule it back in.
Errata'd, mate.

I'm pretty sure that Regeneration isn't even available to Ghouls. They're not one of the Infected types with access to Optional Powers.

>That means they actually can just get cybereyes to restore their vision - they don't have a Quality to buy off.
This has always been the case.

>This has always been the case.
Yes, clearly, it's right there in the rules. It's just that every time I've seen it brought up before, people have said you'd have to buy their blindness off because of Blind Quality-style nerve damage making visually input incompatible, or something.

Commandment number one: Do not trust anything /srg/ says blindly.

You could also be an elf for two extra max points of agility, and take SURGE for metagenetic improvement (Agility) for an aug max of 15.

This was in the context of playing a Nartarki, so I took elf/SURGE off the table.

Normally you would have to buy the quality off since any time a negative quality no longer gives you the negative effect you need to pay the karma cost.
IE: if the street sam goes on a rampage and kills everyone he owes money to to remove his in debt quality, he still needs to pay karma to get rid of it (or take negatives of an equal value)
The issue with ghouls is that Reduced Senses doesn't have a karma value, and doesn't even work the way they use it for ghouls (it just reduces perception dice, not makes you blind) so it's a pretty gray area.

It's not a quality and, unlike the Blind quality, in no way requires you to buy it off to have functional cybereyes. There's no gray area.

You're also wrong about Reduced Senses not working the way they use it for ghouls:
>Typically, reduced senses function at half the normal range or effectiveness, but they might be reduced even further, possibly to the point of the complete loss of that sense.
>possibly to the point of the complete loss of that sense

There's even a critter in the core book with Reduced Senses (Blind) just like ghouls.

So, basically what I'm saying is that Reduced Senses does work that way, it was never a quality, ghouls don't need to buy the non-Quality off, and so your point about how buying off qualities work is irrelevant.

I don't think anyone in my party would be ideal, we have jean-paul the FLQ sniper, an über driver, SS-Untersturmbannfuhrer Baron Von Poopenchest the Schutzschtaffel themed street samurai, and Pepsiman the water (Pepsi) shaman.
The uber driver can pull off the attitude because he's our face but the physique would be a problem.

Wouldnt the things that make a good santa anywhere else and what makes good santa in the barrens be completely different?
"So Timmy were you good this year?
Yes Santa! Yesterday some go gangers were trying to put some shit on mother Martha but me and Richter managed to scare their sorry asses off
Good, good. You know what I have just the thing for you! Brand new Ingram X, 500 EX bullets and glasses with smartlink to go!"

pull some shit*
damm it thats some whole different story there

>Brand new Ingram X, 500 EX bullets and glasses with smartlink to go!
>not giving them tutorsofts for skills that would grant them gainful, legal employment
>not arming them against their real enemy: the vicious cycle of poverty
Shit chummer, at least get them some tutorsofts to teach them to shoot their own damn guns so they don't shoot their own dicks off the first time they use them.

False Face cyberware is literally that.

Explosives.

Are there trap options in 5e, like Monks in D&D?

Technomancers kinda are.

Hey guys, I am lost

I'm going to be gming 5th edition soon, and I cannot wrap my head around the setting. The book is all over the place with this game and I just can't make sense of it. I have the basics down, like that mega corps are the big boys and most of America was given back to natives, but I plan on running a game in San Francisco and I'm just stumped.
