Arcane, Divine, and Nature which is truly the best magic option?

Arcane, Divine, and Nature which is truly the best magic option?

Fist

Arcane.

Why work with what your given or seek help when you could just pants reality yourself?

Muscle

Nature/Divine aren't even split, and Arcane/Divine only split because someone asked Arneson for a snowflake Van Helsing class to deal with an overpowered vampire PC.

PostModern

That looks extremely painful.

HOLY SHIT WHAT'S HAPPENING TO HER ARM

Meme

Divine = Giant megacorps.
Nature = Same but more eco-friendly and insufferable.
Arcane = Local ma & pops.

Psionic

FPBP

I don't follow.

>which is truly the best magic option?

Nature.

Using any other source of magic is like knowingly picking up Mcdonalds when your mother has already prepared dinner for you.

Violence is the best magic...

>Nature/Divine aren't even split
They are in good systems.

Divine magic is like being part of a megacorps. You gotta toe the company line, but there's an obscene amount of power to be had from it.

Same for Nature, but they're the green hippy lot.

Arcane is the local family business. Popular in the area but insignificant outside of it. Only the really lucky ones break out into a wider market and then they're just a very small fish in a cosmic pond.

Warlocks get their magic from the underground/black market/criminal element. Any wizard worth their salt that isn't already affiliated with (the proper)gods and/or nature is dealing with them as well as sorcerers(trust fund babies) because reinventing the wheel is beyond stupid.

Take your (You) (You) (You) (You) and get out of here.

Splitting magic types is a hallmark of bad systems.

Violence-powered magic could be truly OP

>grrl power

>People make the mistake of thinking arcane magic is self-empowered
With these sorts of magic, you've got to make a choice. Primal users serve the whims of massive amalgamations of spirits, and rely primarily on things that just get left around instead of moving on after death- so they get to suck the dicks of trees for their power. Big huzzah, the spirits of the grass and the wind and the flowers and the river sure do a good job of controlling you for their own good.
Then there's divine magic. Can't judge this except on a god-by-god basis; channeling your power with permission from someone else's big budget is only a problem if you have different goals from your benefactor. If you have a good and agreeable deity, you're much better off than with capricious nature spirits.
Then there's arcane. All it is is learning the cheat codes that the world left hanging around. Well, learning, teasing out with song or instinct, or being shown by a devil. They get uppity because they thing they're better since they don't rely on anyone, but guess what? They rely on the state of the universe in general for things to work just as they do. One little tip of the cosmic scales that the assumptions of arcane magic revolve around, and your ability to cast a fireball becomes the ability to turn your lower legs into magma. Not back again either. So now you're sucking dependency dick nearly as hard as primal or divine, but you've got nobody to help you when things go wrong.

No, real inner power is psionics, but faggots don't think that's a real or appropriate type of magic.

Sucking astral dick is still sucking dick, so try not to get too uppity about it.

She's a big magician

*sigh*
4U

Arcane: Homeschooling.
> + You get to learn it yourself independently from a party that doles it out from you
> - You might not have the means/skill/insight to harness it yourself and can royally fuck up on the way

Divine: Private schooling
> + Everything is provided for you to easily pick up as long as you have a basic motivation and pay your fees
> - Good luck if you ever try to cut ties with it

Nature: Public schooling
> + Available and good in certain settings, with a wide range of minor patrons to draw from
> - Scarce and terrible in others, the patrons are all drunk dicks

it's obviously blood magic, it's supposed to be painful.
