I was lurking bitcoin threads when I was 14 on /b/, 20 now. used to sell ebooks and viruses on black market reloaded and I also was able to spam my referral link often enough to get a weekly cashroll of at least .2 BTC. I just gambled it on satoshi dice because I wasnt even old enough to set up a mtgox or coinbase account. price was $5 when I started messing with it, never held onto anything, balled out with a few bitcoin before it shot to a few hundred lol

I read about it on boingboing in 2010 after I was crying about missing gold at $700 an oz pre gfc. Gold went to $1900 that year if I'm remembering correctly..

I thought btc was a good idea, especially due to the bail outs and other bs that was going on to reinflate property prices and consumer sentiment.

Basically bernake had committed to helicopter money (if the market doesn't improve I'll throw cash out of helicopters he said)

I was unsure how it'd go so I decided to buy 15k worth but pulled out because I didn't want to give my dox to Mt gox. I finally bought in this year and it's cool to see where that original idea went.

I'd obviously be very rich if I'd made that purchase, btc was around $6 then but, no regrets because I did well and spent 2 of the last 7 years travelling and having fun.

Pretty cool to see another Napster moment and it's fun to be back posting with you shitloards. Next year should be really exciting!

Bought $300 dollars worth of btc when it was $800, used all of it to buy drugs online. Didn't invest until june with $1000 when btc was in about $2600-$2900 and watched it crash down to $1800 the next week.

I heard about it when it was new and had no idea. Next I heard about it was from college hippies buying drugs on the silk road circa 2011.

I would check up on it sometimes. Thought I missed the boat when it was $25. My jaw dropped when it hit $250. I found it interesting that it hit its 2013 high right after silk road got popped.
