Granite a cute, CUTE

So, what's the general power ranking of Season 3?

Guildball? You mean that cheap inferior Blood Bowl ripoff?

lulz
you have no idea how different the two games are, do you, user?
No need to be fearful of Guild Ball - BloodBowl can be played twice a year.

How do you guys manage to troll the Warmahordes general so often but you can't keep up your own fucking threads for longer than 10 posts?

I was just trolling for the lulz

I play fish but is it just me or are they hard mode? Scoring is so much harder to do than just walloping the other team

Granite and Pintpot are out. Posting their cards.

Here's Granite. She's slow. Probably in the head. Don't taunt her, she's special needs.

Actually, in all seriousness, she's... interesting. Momentous KD on 2 is nice. Momentous G&S on 3 (plus damage!) with 6 TAC is very good. 24 boxes is great. 2+/2 is... eh, but Determination does help that out.

The main worry is that she's going to get worn down, and then once she gets taken out it'll be several turns before she makes it back to a meaningful position cause goddamn this bitch is slow. She won't go down in one turn, that's certainly not happening, but her whole kit involves her charging at key enemy characters and then sitting on them and that's pretty dangerous.

I struck your bait like a newly hatched sunfish.

There was a Guildball thread a few days ago that got a lot of traction.

And here's Pintpot. And goddamn he's a fucking monster.

Momentous damage not on the top of his playbook? Dodges? Influence advantage? On a Brewer? My god, what have they done.

Come On Then! is basically Gluttonous Mass, but you have to pay to turn it on. Smashing Face is Grave's Scything Blow, but buyable -- even for one beer token.

I see him being either a skirmisher on the side, always given 2 influence and yet threatening five and abusing the power of Come On Then! in small scale fights, or being used as a disposable character ala Veteran Katalyst. Someone who charges into a crowd of enemies at the end of one turn, pops Smashing Face, and then chugs beer tokens to make attacks. Next turn, top of the turn use Smashing Face again, attack a bunch, chug the remaining beer tokens and then Come On Then! to be harder to take out.

I like him. He's looks like a goddamn monster.

I'm in the middle of painting my first team (Brewer's Guild) and I'm glad I bothered to preorder this dude. He looks like he'll be fun as hell. Always in the thick of it, tons of momentum, and can be a bit of an influence battery if you want to burn a few beers, or pile him up and go ape fuck crazy with him. Going to go pick him up from my LGS after work on Monday and get to putting him together

Guildball? You mean that cheap inferior Warmachine ripoff?

Come on man, I already did this bit but better

And I got dubs to boot

Anybody got any pictures of what they are working on? Scum is the first model I've painted. Not sure if I'm 100% done and I still need to clearcoat. Sorry for the shit quality, I need better lighting in my work room. I was planning on painting each ball that comes with the starter in their team color for some variety. Planning on doing either Fisherman's, Engineer's or Hunter's Guild after I finish at least the Brewer's that I've got

They aren't hardmode per say but it is far more reliant on understanding distance and positioning.

If you played other minis games, basically you have to completely learn a new game when playing fishies while everyone else get to just do the charge = kills game

I would say Morticians are real hardmode. You have to know the opponent very well to fuck with them, otherwise you are stuck with mediocre stats and wasted influences

I don't have them done yet but I'm working on my masons for captain con.

I can respect that opinion
I'm slowly working on my Kraken since this is my first time doing flesh.

Haven't played since Season 1, what has happened to my Morticians?

They were reeled in

They got toned down just a bit, Obulus isn't a auto take anymore

>So many quality waifu's
>Not a lick of porn
Who do I have to fellate to get some quality Fillet nudes?

Looks pretty good dude. Flesh isn't that hard once you get some practice. I used to play Ogres in Warhammer Fantasy until Age of Smegma invalidated a huge chunk of my shit, so I've had tons of practice. You look like you're off to a good start though

So to get some discussion going.

What factions do you own?

Which is your main/favorite?

Which new player are you looking forward to the most?

I own at least a 6 man of all teams except alchemists and morticians, but main fish with a side of brewers. May end up switching to Farmers main when they release

WIP

So is scalpel less shit now?

How does her influence stripping work if there's no one to transfer the influence to?

>What factions do you own?
Mason's, butchers, brewer, alchemist, engineers
>Which is your main/favorite?
Masons
>Which new player are you looking forward to the most?
Crucible and locus look cool. Vet ox is awesome of course. Not super excited about granite. I tried her out and she seems alright but nothing that's gunna really change my list around.

Brewer's and Hunter's. Really only picked up Hunter's Guild because I found the box set at a great deal. I need to pick up Seenah and real give them a shot. Probably going to do Fisherman's Guild next

Most favorite is the Brewer's. Playstyle is straightforward and every player has a way to stand out. I plan on trying that Drinks Like a Fish build next time I play and just use OG Spigot since I haven't picked up Vet Spigot yet

Looking forward to Pintpot. He looks like a damn beast. Locus and Brainpan look cool too. Might pick them up to paint and then build their teams up slowly.

She's less bad by Obulus being less good. So kinda?

the INF stripping, in the odd event that you have no possible target to put it on disappears, but the model you attacked to strip INF from likely hasn't activated that turn so you end up giving it back to them many times.

Thanks man! I've barely put my base coats on him since work has been a bitch lately I have zero practice painting manflesh because i'm a skaven player i spoiled this because i didn't want to derail the thread

> Veteran Katalyst
> Everyone else
> Hunters

> Own
Brewers & Engineers

> Favourite
Engineers. I just love chain reaction bullshit that reduces the game to pinball.

> New players
Locus, he looks like he's in fucking power armour.

Feeling really Guildball-y having just finished a local tournament. Didn't do particularly well, but I got the showboating prize for bullshit combo generation.

> Be Engineers
> Both Ratchet and Mainspring are dead
> Ball is way off in the far fucking corner
> Icy Sponge Ratchet back onto the pitch, very specifically leave Mainspring dead
> Ratchet jogs on, sprints, and rezzes Mainspring on top of the ball
> Mainspring grabs ball, jogs, Long Bombs and passes the ball into a Snapshot
> Win game

The Union, Butchers, and Engineers, I fucking love the Union, because crime is great, and all of the characters are interesting as hell. My Engineers are pretty much nearing completion, here's my Pin Vice counts as, as I don't really like the actual model. I actually got to play Mat Hart at an event with my Butchers, which was fantastic, turned into a 10/12, because I made the huge mistake of putting Truffles next to a board edge with Jac, and got pushed off on his second activation.
>Hunters
>Bottom
I mean yeah, I really hope their new Captain helps them out, Theron just kinda sucks.

Prepping for my first Tournament next month with the Fish. Got my team painted and built and now working on my brothers Hunters.

Bastard beat me 12 to 8 the other day because Jaecar slowed me down enough that he started getting double KOs on turn 3 or 4. Theron laughs at Shark and knocked down Kraken as both bleed out and he just marches the ball in for a score. End of turn, my guys bleed out. He wins.

If you can stop the fish from scoring first two turns then it's an uphill battle.

Best of luck user, have you tried Sakahana or Grayscales?

Grayscales and Sakana are god damn monsters and usually they are the main goals after the Salt Missile.

In that game though, Jaecar and Hearne managed to tie up Sakana long enough that he didn't help much. Snare is monstrous. I did have one smiling moment when he was about to have Minx charge Grayscales to try and steal the ball. I let him redo since we're both learning the game, but when he realized that Grayscales was just going to nope away, he declared him "Hard counter to the hunters."

How do you think she'll be used? I'm leaning towards getting Kick Off for the Masons

She is a very effective tar pit. She a pain to shift out of combat for your opponent and has a very painful counter attack. On top of that she can also be a good setup model for your team with her low knockdown. Being 3+/2 in combat is also pretty good especially with sturdy.

Her down side is that she's painful slow and very vulnerable to character plays.

I see her as sitting in the midfield in the middle of a scrum. Hindering your opponents attacks unless they have a lot of buffs or crowding out.

Also is Chisel any good? I've heard mixed thoughts on her, but she fits my love of cute psychos.

Best of luck man. Is it a local tournament or is it a con? I'm preparing for captain con in a few weeks.

I personally have not been a big fan of her. Even back in season 2 I thought she wasn't that great.

For what she does, she brings 2" reach on a fairly fast (for Mason's at least) body. She has crazy to go up to tac 7 which is nice and has a decent ability to run in grab the ball, dodge out and pass. She can bring some solid damage with tooled up and painful rage. Also funny thing I noticed the other day, feel my pain works with tooled up.

The problems I have with her is that she's fairly fragile. She's 3+/1 with low wounds and crazy. So you have to play her carefully or she will go down. I don't think her character plays do enough to save her but that's just my opinion.

I've heard people like using her as a winger and 1v1ing people. I think that's probably where she will shine. Go in deal some damage and put up feel my pain so they're stuck in low, and afraid to swing.

I would still recommend trying her out. She doesn't work well for me but she's no where as bad as the forums will tell you.

>I mean yeah, I really hope their new Captain helps them out, Theron just kinda sucks.
I play only Hunters (right now). Why the fuck they have not given him a Legendary play by now is way beyond me. Not only did they keep Blessing of the Sun Father on him, which fucks up our order of activation but they made him more limp dick with his forest nerf. I will have no love loss when the new Captain comes out,

>tfw Skatha comes out and she's mediocre as fuck too
Life is suffering.

To be completely honest my biggest problem with the Hunters right now is that they have absolutely no roster flexibility. There are literally three tournament legal Hunters lists right now -- 8 Hunters + Minx, 8 Hunters + A&G, and 8 Hunters + Hemlocke. If I go to a tournament, I am forced to take models which I do not like and have no intention of putting on the field just to fill my roster.

The Hunters are going to get more models, and that's great, but all it does is pass the torch. The Farmers will end up in the same situation. We already know there will be 8 total Farmers models, and so the Farmers will also have N legal tournament builds where N is the number of Union models that play for them.

I really don't think that SFG thought these tournament rules through. As it is they skew the competition very heavily towards the older guilds. And I don't think that that's a good thing.

The game is not that old. Hunters are only one generation behind the other Guilds, and while they lack as many options, its not that insurmountable. Hunters have eight in Guild models compared to most Guilds 11. Why Hunters have access to only three Union models when all the other Guilds have five confuses me, but this can be remedied as more Union options are made available.

My hope is that the next Hunter positional player is not a Vet.

That's a very good point user, I kinda wish Tater was legalized for them so they'll have another player to use, and maybe Harmony as a captain option? She was training them and all

The problem is mainly exacerbated by the fact that 3 of the Hunters 8 guild models are garbage and the fact that they only have one captain which is a huge disadvantage in the 9 man draft format.

The Hunters are going to get out of this, but the Farmers will be born into it. And the situation is only going to get worse as the time goes on. In season 4 the new guild, with 8 models, will have no roster choice compared to old guilds with 13 to 14 models to choose from.

It's just short sighted. Unless they're going to go in and release guilds with more models and two captains from the word go then we will never be in a situation where new guilds are competitive with old guilds under these rules.

You're making good points. I usually try not to get too doom and gloom (not saying you are) about meta's and my miniature games because well developed games will usually fix themselves.

Why Mason's and Brewer's just got a release is kinda shitty when the Hunters could really use a new release (probably has to do with the Kick Off box set).

I do wish they would have looked a little closer at Zarola, Hearne, and Egret during the Season 3 transition. Making Zarola essentially Midnight Offering on a stick is pretty shitty design (her link to Fahad has potential, but it hardly works the way you want). Egret is just a shitty model for scoring with. Some protection from tackles or anything would have been nice. And Hearne. I really, really want to like him and he is so close to being something niche.

Thankfully the tournament rules are something which are very mutable and open to change. I don't think that SFG really considered what this set of rules meant for newer guilds. I think they based this set of rules off of player feedback from people at the top of the competitive scene, who exclusively play the original 8 guilds. I don't think new guilds entered their mind at all when they made it.

But it's not set in stone, it's a single document on the web which they have openly stated they're willing to change if it needs changed and honestly unless you care about being sponsored you don't even have to follow it even if you run your own tournament.

What I'd like to see, personally, is:

- 8 players
- 1 captain, unless they're going to release new guilds with both captains at launch
- Union restriction on the roster removed
- Union restriction on team selection created
(Basically, any number of Union members on your roster, but you can only field one at a time.)

This would give every guild, even brand new ones, choices. You would have the ability to drop models from your roster which you don't like. You'd have actual choice again. And the captain thing is something I'm going to have to be a stickler on -- having only one captain in a two captain format is an enormous disadvantage in terms of build flexibility.

What new players would you guys want to see? Personally, I'd like it if the new Hunters mascot was a poodle from some noble, who wandered into the woods, and went completely feral because of it.

I want a bear cub, where Seenah loses it's shit if you punch it.

Isn't Seenah a boy though?

Who do you usually field when you play Union? The only Union models I have so far are Harry and Minx so it would be easy to grab the starter and Coin/Strongbox and have a playable team. Kinda want to pick of Avarisse & Greede too

No one knows. No one has had the courage to check the gender of the bear.

>Isn't Seenah a boy though?
Seenah's gender isn't specified anywhere in the fluff. And personally, I think Seenah is female. Female bears are larger than male bears, so if Seenah is male then somewhere out there in this universe there is a bear which is bigger than Seenah -- and my mind just can't accept that fact. Seenah is fucking enormous. How could there possibly be a bear bigger than Seenah?

I want a Veteran Seenah, who is actually an old and wisened human druid. Make it canon that Seenah was just her wildshaped form, or maybe regular Seenah is an actual bear who was mind-melded with this druid or something.

>Vet Rage
>A to the G
>Harry the Auto-Take
>Minx
>Gutter
>Strong Box
Sideboard is Mist + Snakeskin. I take Snake Skin and Mist instead of Gutter and Minx if I'm really, REALLY trying to play ball. Also, if he's running, say Fish with Coirsair and 4 dudes + a mascot, I take Snakeskin, because she's a 6+ if she nimbles against men

>I want a Veteran Seenah, who is actually an old and wisened human druid. Make it canon that Seenah was just her wildshaped form, or maybe regular Seenah is an actual bear who was mind-melded with this druid or something.

I've had a similar idea with Hunter models, but but have the model have the ability to transform during the game. Kind of like Kromac in Hordes.

Give me alternate timeline Salvo and Velocity, where Salvo died in that accident, so I can see a robot that just slings bolts into peoples faces

That'd be pretty fucking slick user

How much actual magic is in GB though?

w2b limited edition Terminator Velocity

Speaking of which, they need to make more limited edition alternate sculpts models.

It's a local tournament. But if my local henchmen don't pick up the pace and do some malifaux events. I might be prepping for Con play as well. Because I'm going to NOVA to play something this year.

Lemme check. So, we've got
>People turning into bears
>Pagans
>Actual Alchemy
>Bringing back the dead
>Potions that could have stopped all death and disease
>Chemical Warfare
>Scrying (Maybe)
This is off the top of my head

Ah, best of luck! I've been doing a game a day in preparation for Gen-Con, I'm going to do my best to get to the top table.

I'd actually really dig that. I'd also like short stories from the characters point of view, like, a day in each captains life when their not on the pitch

Best of Luck user! My goal for 2018 is to play something at Gen-Con and run a few con-games for RP. What's your team like?

Also, for a noobie (me. Six games under my belt), what would be a good selection for a roster for team draft? Do you want two captains and one mascot for instance.

Thanks user, and that depends on a lot of things. I'm the union player that posted up there, and for now, I'm 1 Captain 1 Mascot, as V Rage and Strongbox are so good. However, the new captain, is going to change that dramatically, as she's a guild ball oriented one. I feel like some guilds really benefit from 2 Captain, but some like Butchers can be actively hindered, it really depends on the rest of your roster, and what you think is a good idea for your players

so none

Isn't Seenah, Scalpel, Obulous, Midas, Velocity, Katalyst, and Vet Siren all proof of magic?

At least half can be explained as unknown science though.

>forgetting Mist, who flies all over the pitch when he plays

What would you suggest for a Fish Roster? I currently have all the Fish (Corsair and Tentacles are in the mail along with Gutter).

My brother has less choice as he's a Hunter player. But he's waffling between Hemlocke and Minx. I kinda made him mad a few days ago when Greyscales dodged out of a charge (he beat me 12-8 the next day but he still think Greyscales is too good against Hunters).

>Seenah
Person turned into a bear
>Scalpel
Straight up voodoo tier magic
>Obulous
Is probably some kind of horrific necormancer. Let's not forget Silence, who pulls birds from his ass
>Midas
Alchemy, can turn non-precious metals into gold
>Velocity
They stuffed a dead person into a robot
>Katalyst
I'd def give you this one, it's drugs, but like, Magic drugs?
>Vet Siren
Is an actual Sea Siren
I'm sure there's a perfectly church-y explanation for this

>but he still think Greyscales is too good against Hunters
Your brother is close, but he needs to drop the qualifier. Greyscales is just baller.

I would legitimately play a game with 6x Greyscales. Guy is just so good.

Dude, I honestly would. He is permanently on any team I play to the point that I think it gives nothing away if he's the first draft pick.

My friend runs
>Shark
>Salt
>Jac
>Sakahana
>Grayscales
>Kraken
Grayscales is a fish auto-take 100% of the time. So is Sakahana, and arguably Salt, as now you have 6 Guildball players, instead of 5 and a Mascot. If you're fighting a lot of 1" Melee characters Ala Butchers or Engineers, feel free to just zoom right past them. For Union, A&G is never a really bad idea, because of the rocket that they can preform to get a T1 goal, and camping Greede 6" away from their post is a great idea for snapshots with Fish.

I'm curious but why not Siren?

Tbh I've never really gotten any mileage out of her, and this list instead of Coirsair was what Mat Hart used to beat my Butchers faces in

Greyscales, the best perverted old man in gaming.

It's hilarious, reading the fluff. Any given female character has like a 50% chance of having their fluff be Greyscales rattling off on how attractive they are. Half the time you can hear him getting aroused as he tells the story I swear.

Best perverted grandpa in gaming, hands down.

Is that why he has Unpredictable Movement? Is it because he's always oiled up?

*With Coirsair instead of Shark

I haven't tried Corsair yet. Looking forward to giving him a try when I get his cards tomorrow (Season three Preorder is coming in I believe).

I wish I could get a hand on that delicious fluff.

Can we slap Greyscales' face on Hakkan?

From Street Fighter, or Bionacle?

The Turkish titan ofcourse

I would but everyone here GB is some sort of ripoff of BB.

Also how likely is that steamforged decides to translate GB into spanish? i don't mind really, but having the material translated will help to gather attention faster for all those who don't know about the game.

You'd think they'd get on it, isn't soccer fucking gargantuan in Spanish speaking countries?

dropbox.com/s/vzd7r7nuwntz23w/GuildBall_Season01.pdf?dl=0

Dropbox to the season 1 fluff. Don't have season two because I had the book

> isn't soccer fucking gargantuan in Spanish speaking countries?
it's, something like GB would make everyone go bananas over the game is that and also all the "unnecesary" violence built in game.

better they hurry because I'm about to decide between GB in English or The Walking Dead All-out-war in Spanish.

user you're the best! I'll keep folks posted on my tourney preps.

Big thing for me though is that i"m presently at 4-2 record with the Fish. *stares in rage at Butcher user. You know who you are!*

Hey! I'm Masons user right now. Not my fault I like a Fillet-O-Fish on the side

*stares at you*

See me on the pitch, user! I'm feeding you to the fish!

Np dude. As a fish user I'm there with you. So far I've placed pretty well, between 2nd-7th at all but one of my tournaments; but always blow it in one of the rounds. I'm just glad basically all tournaments are double captain now as I prefer Corsair in most match ups, but have gone on a big Shark run lately. The one I did bad in was a one captain tourney where I went Shark too.

>trying to catch up on lore shit
>find out they killed off two of my favorite characters

I kind of figured that Katalyst had an implied bad end with the existence of Veteran Katalyst, but what they did to Ghast was total horseshit

Nice. Wish I had a henchman over here. Or ya know, more than 1 & 1/2 players to play malifaux with. Was also going to play that at captain con.

Where can I buy the 2-player kickoff in the states? barring that, are the starters good enough?

Discount games and miniature market are the easiest.

The other boxes (aside from the hunters) only have 3 models. 1 captain and two other players. So you need to get a mascot and two other players. Aside from. That there aren't any bad boxes, mostly since there aren't many models that are out right bad. Some models might be more useful then others but there aren't any that just do not have a role. Really it just comes down to finding the right team for you.

>WE

>YOU

turn off that police siren
