with the emperor using his son as a tool, he'd need to remove the infection of choas from space marines within the warbands of the eye of terror to have a fighting chance of reclaiming the throne and installing magnus on the throne to power the astronomicon.

Because if the astronomicon is powered then the emperor can begin to regenerate.

The emps can do that, but at the present moment he's fighting Chaos in the warp to save all of humanity from a galaxy wide mindfuck.

BUT

If someone were to cover that job, we'd totally see him occupy a new host body

Because up until now the mythical figures of the setting werent used except as a backdrop for your armies.

But also Tzeentch wanted Big Red from the beginning and isnt just going to give him up.

Too busy guiding the Astronomican.

Now if only the was SOMEONE who take his place on the golden throne

If the Emperor was going to take a mortal form why would he choose to battle against one of the most powerful mortal beings in the setting for it? Especially in the warp so Magnus cant lose to the Imperials dues ex machina #9.

Isnt the golden throne what also keeps him alive though? like removing him from it would kill him?

or make him a full blown all powerful warp god

It would be very painful.

Dr. Arkhan? I'm Inquisition.

For heretics.

The warp manifests and creates the emotions and beliefs of all living thing into reality.
Humans all around the galaxy believe that the emperor is some almighty god figure.
The warp would create said figure like it did with everything else.
Except the Emperor already exists.
and hes bound to his throne.
Let him die.
He comes back instantly as a full blown warp/chaos god.
Humanity is saved.

>He comes back instantly as a full blown warp/chaos god.
With the birth cry of a new god new EOT erupts from the Sol system, devouring Terra and Mars.
Humanity is fucked

This raises and interesting question, do any of the Daemon Primarchs even have a physical form anymore?

I'm guessing not otherwise their legions could simply create new geneseed and make legions worth of CSM.

Magnus doesn't really have a body anymore.

When he was defeated during the battle of the fang, the physical form he'd made collapsed into warpstuff. There's nothing that the Emperor would want to possess, even assuming he could.

>GIMME DA SOUL

Counterpoint: The "God Emperor" everyone worships is a separate entity, entirely formed by the collective will of humankinds belief in it.

The Emperor of Mankind sits decaying on a throne, powerless as humanity creates a new god to fuck itself with in his own image.

Also a point that is worth merit:

The God Emperor is empowered by the collective beliefs of mankind.
Mankind is empowered by the collective beliefs of the God Emperor.

Chaos has always had high tides and low tides, but the Imperium remains strong. It is so strong that its collective light has even attracted aliens from another galaxy.

There's one of two theories:

A.) Removing the Emperor kills him, the end, chaos floods through the imperial webway, and humanity is raped to death.

B.) Removing the Emperor kills him, but he reincarnates as a new Star Child and comes back to save humanity from getting raped to death.

The Imperium keeps him plugged in though to power the space beacon, as a cover for being pussies to find out if the latter theory is correct.

>If the emperor is within the warp, why doesn't he take human form to a degree and possess his son magnus?

Because the Emperor doesn't want to get his ass kicked by Leman Russ

AWOOO

Humans strongly believed in the god emperor. For a very long time.
If they did create a new warp god with their collective thoughts, wouldn't we have seen at this point?

It took the Eldar at least 30k years, if not a hell of a lot longer.

So you're saying that channeling the conciousness of a galactic wide emperium of billion if not trillion of individuals for the course of 10 000ish years is not enough to create a new god in the fake space magic aether?
Darn.

We've already seen some weird shit coming from it, like Living Saints and their powers that are 100% pure of taint warp energy.

WAY more humans than there were ever eldar. someone pull up some numbers on the relative warp effect of a human versus an eldar and then compare the numbers of eldar versus humans

How big is the imperium anyway?

>what are living saints ?
>what are miracles ? (or acts of faith, whatever)

The only question left is whether this entity is related to big E.

Keep in mind, Eldar souls are more warp delicious and nutritious than human souls.

Especially at the height of the empire before slaanesh was birthed.

>you were expecting a cute Momiji?
>too bad, it was just me! Rubric Marine!

Not to mention, the legion of the damned come off a lot like daemons. Invuln save, check, blinks out of nowhere, check. Freaky looking, check.

Emprah is dead though and keeping him functional is just pointless propaganda. I cant believe there are people who didnt get the most obvious part of 40K universe. It was alluded so many times in official books in a specific way of writing that suggests it to be true.

Even if this was once true it isn't anymore.

Astronomican.

>EOO eye of order

What do you mean?

The pleasure cults started up around 25k. Slaanesh was born on 30k so that was about 5 thousand years.

Astronomicon is powered by thousand psykers a day. Did you really think they were used to keep the Emperor alive?

Find one shred of evidence for that would you please?

the entire fucking galaxy?

Because the emperor is much smarter than that, he doesn't need to possess anyone to make people do what he wants to. Possession is for stupid low tier daemons.

Neither situation is likely. I know for a fact that at one time some GW devs wanted Chaos to abduct/capture the astronomicon and use it to try and summon slaanesh at which point the Emperor is woken/revived because he notices the astronomicon is absent and then posseses them at last minute and shuts the portal down, basically destroying slaanesh since it is only partly materialised. the explosion destroys Terra and the Emperor is trapped in the minds of the astronomicon who get taken and protected by all the chapters. Chaos begins to flood out and the chapters keep parts of the Imperium safe with these Emperor fragments. The Imperium is completely cut off though since warp travel is no longer possible, but the Eldar are now free of Slaanesh and start to do better. Also the C'tan are all revived by Slaanesh dying and the Necrons fully ascend.

Legion of the damned might just be normal warp fuckery, however.

Because motherfucker is BUSY

Apparently, in the Codex Cult Mechanicus 7th Edition, you have this thing:
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Golden_Throne#Malfunction

>By late M36, the Golden Throne began to require more and more sacrifice of Psykers to remain functional. By early M41, four times the amount of Psykers were required to maintain optimal power levels of the Throne.[3] In the last year of M41, Techpriests discovered failures in the mechanisms of the Golden Throne that are far beyond their ability to repair. [2b]

>Faced with this cataclysmic scenario, the Tech-Priests become desperate and ally with a faction of Xanthite Inquisitors. Launching an expedition into the Webway, the Tech-Priest and Inquisition forces battle through Harlequins and Daemons alike before reaching Commorragh. There, a dark bargain is struck.[4]

What do you think of that? If the Imperial Webway Portal is not forcefully closed anymore, Big Slaanesh will enter the webway and fuck Commoragh once and for all. So the Dark Eldar can have an interest in keeping the Big E as the nice draught stopper he is.
I presume they wouldn't want him to be fresh and fit again, His objective being taking the Webway all for humanity.
