ok guys, i need some help with my csm list.
planning on playing a thousand point game of csm, no list tailoring.
I the following:
40 cultists
3 chaos lords
2 csm squads
1 rhino
2 hellbrutes
1 squad of chosen
1 forgefiend
I was planning on building into a black crusade detachment by buying a dark apostle for lost and damned. Then buying warpsmith and running a hellforged warpack.
Is this list ok/good? Was planning on putting the chaos lord in the same cultist squad as the dark apostle. How should I run the 2nd helbrute, seeing as though it won't get an invuln save. Planning on picking up a 2nd forgefiend later, to replace the 2nd helbrute, good idea?

depends on many factors, including your faction, the game format (500pts =/=1500pts), the toyz concerned, etc.
Plus some boyz are your only way to get some toyz so it's normal to pay for them

does anyone else magnetise their units like dreadnoughts or battlesuits or even tanks in order to easily swap out turrets and shit? or do people not worry about it and just go with what they expect to use and specify otherwise if they have a list change.

Yesterday I faced Necrons with my SoB.

Table them by turn 4. God damn it that guy is bad at playing.

1500 I had 6 Penitent Engines, 4 Immolator with 4 Flamers squad, seraphim with big cow in reserve.

He had bikes, 3 flayer, 40 warriors a full squad of inmortals and his lord with a lych guard.

Celestine didn't show up till turn 3 just to mop up the lord and his last two lych.

This why kids you don't netlist, specially if you don't understand your army.

I magnetise my battlesuits (still in the process of) since I like having customizability.
It also makes me feel snazzy.

We'll I was talking in more general terms about Celestine.

But holy shit that necron player was bad if you handicapped yourself with 6 penitent engines. Did you talk with your opponent afterwards? If I lose I always want to talk with my opponent afterwards and ask what he thinks what did I do wrong. Its a good habit which has made me much better player and also made bonds of friendship with loads of people.

Which Legion?

The Chaos Lord is a waste of points. He's not good in CC, he's slow, and he's not particularly durable. Swap him for a Sorcerer, or just drop him entirely.

Helbrutes don't want to go full melee or full ranged, since it gives the Crazed table results that always fuck you instead of just situationally fucking you. PF+MM is a good generic load-out.

Drop all the upgrades from the Warpsmith. He's not going to be winning any duels anyways. Never buy Combi-bolters on infantry. Ever. For any reason.

Overall, too many points spent on Characters, especially for Characters that don't do much on the table.

Don't buy a Dark Apostle (unless you really like the model). Just use the Power Maul Chosen from Dark Vengeance. Converting a Warpsmith out of the Power Axe Chosen is a bit trickier, but doable.

Rather than buy those Characters, I would pick up a Maulerfiend and add it to the Warpack. Use the tentacles from that to make your Warpsmith.

No Legion is waste of potential

Power maul and Ichor blood on lord are garbage.

Mixing roles in Warpack reduced entire unit efficiency missile launchers on dreads are trash, either do double forgefiend with hellbrute character melee-blocker or go full on maulerfiend/hellbrute melee.

We lost hope with him. Since I can remember he has been a players. He has been sucking hard since 3rd. Bad at fantasy, bad at MTG.

Now we just see how we can win with a silly list against him.

My local store manager (and good friend with contacts to good ol' england) told me some nice informations/rumors.

He said the 8th Edition for 40k will have two seperate rulesets. The first one will have streamlined rules with simplified army lists, like AoS Warscrolls (one page with all needed profiles, options, special rules) but still with mostly familiar 40k rules. The second one will be a streamlined 7th Edition which will be compatible and used with Forgeworlds Horus Heresy rules. Last one is maybe compatible with 7th Edition Codices and Suppliments too.

Maybe, but even if they weren't they still wouldn't be "wolves" in the literal sense. Flora/fauna in 40k is often (in-universe) merely named after organisms once found on earth, despite otherwise sharing no relation.
