Is it possible to make Bane a lawful good god without changing its character too much?

Is it possible to make Bane a lawful good god without changing its character too much?

This is fucking retarded OP. What would you even stand to gain from doing this?

Portfolio: Strife, hatred, tyranny, fear
Domains: Evil, Destruction, Hatred, Law, Tyranny
Dogma: Serve no one but Bane. Fear him always and make others fear him even more than you do. The Black Hand always strikes down those who stand against it in the end. Defy Bane and die - or in death find loyalty to him, for he shall compel it. Submit to the word of Bane as uttered by his ranking clergy, since true power can only be gained through service to him. Spread the dark fear of Bane. It is the doom of those who do not follow him to let power slip through their hands Those who cross the Black Hand meet their dooms earlier and more harshly than those who worship other deities.

>Even as a human, Bane wanted nothing more than to become the most feared, respected tyrant the wolrd had ever known.

>Bane hates virtually the entire Faerunian pantheon but holds special antipathy for Torm, Cyric, Mystra, Tempus, Helm, Lathander, Oghma, and Ilmater, in that order. He has established a working relationship with Loviatar, Mask, and Talona, but as these deities desperately fear him, the alliances are not strong.

>LITERALLY STOLE THE TABLETS OF FATE

nigga you're fuckin dumb

if I take off those rings will it die?

That depends. What's the next step in your master plan?

Bane?

Crashing this thread.
With no survivors.

It would be extremely painful.

It would be an extremely painful process.

You're a big god.

For you.

Seconded. Is the answer a lot of memeposts? Because it's going to be and indeed has been a lot of memeposts.

We both know I have to shitpost on you now. You'll just have to imagine the memes.

He would have to provide work for the mercenaries.
The masked men.

First day on Veeky Forums, huh

Veeky Forums loves its stale memes

>baneposting ever getting stale

Nyet

>being this much of a hothead

someone get him out of here

Of coursh!

OK so uh why the fuck does anybody ever willingly worship this fuck.

He's like the evil murder-pain god from Oglaf except unironic.

In a setting where there are neutral and good gods (and even Evil gods who aren't morons about the whole thing) who are just as powerful if not more powerful than Bane, why does ANYONE with a single rank in Knowledge:Religion devote their life to an ungrateful jerk.

Can you imagine the booths at Cleric Career Fairs?
>>So you can choose Sune Firehair, the goddess of love, skill, and trickery. Or you can worship EVIL MCSKULLSDICK, whose domains include tyranny, pain, evil, and fear.
>>So this first choice gives me way less power at the cost of a more favorable patron, right?
>>Nope. In fact, spontaneous healing is way more useful than negative energy in virtually every scenario you'll encounter your entire career, and she's a Greater Deity just like Bane.
>>so Tyranny? That's normally a word with negative connotations and often implied incompetency, nobody actually describes themselves as a tyrant. And surely he must be as favorable to his allies as he is ruthless to his enemies, right?
>>Nope. Tyranny, tyrants. Corruption, graft, kangaroo courts and all that. Functioning societies aren't really Bane's thing. And he hates his followers almost as much as his foes, he won't hesitate to strike you down the instant you displease him in any way. Even if you serve well, you must always fear his merciless hand.

Evil gods are so fucking retarded 99.999% of the time.

Even for monstrous races, why wouldn't orc tribes pray for the love of muscly green-skinned beauties, love of battle, the skill to conquer their foes and the wits to overcome any tricks opposing clans pull.

Everybody can't just be MOLAG BAL: THE KING OF RAPE and expect to be widely worshipped

Somebody get some water here.

I don't even get how evil gods are supposed to work in your standard DnD setting. Don't evil souls go down to The Abyss or the Hells when they die? Vecna isn't a demon, does he actually get any of his follower's souls when they die?

4e's Bane actually had several good reasons to be worshiped. He was the god of war, but also one of discipline and civilization.

Y'know I've never understood how those change-on-enlarge gifs worked. Do you know, user?

>the first frame is only a fraction of a second, has the desired thumbnail image
>second frame is 30 seconds-1 minute long, has desired enlarged image
>when uploaded, first frame is used for thumbnail
>when enlarged, first frame flashes quickly enough that you don't notice it
>second frame is all you see; you close image or aren't paying attention by the time the first frame replays, and it's only up for a second

Insanity is a thing

Way to prove him right

Now is not the time for alignment changes, that comes later.

...

Ok, remove all his extra stuff stick with his core, spin it from "Tyrant" to "Absolute Rulers"
>Lord Bane, the Black Lord
>Lawful Good
>Portfolio: Strife, Civilization, War
>Worshipers: Conquerors (Alexander the Great style), Mercenaries
>No holidays in honor of their god, instead showing gratitude to him through service
>Priests of Bane pray for their spells at midnight, pledging their eternal loyalty and service
>Bane spreads Strife through the ranks of Evil monsters/religions to prevent them ever unifying against Civilisation

Was creating a thread full of shitposts part of your master plan?
