Sure in the end you can pay with whatever you want thanks to crypto agnostic. So in the PoV from the consumer perspective, they don't need REQ, but that's exactly where the value is. REQ will get burned in the background and hodlers will get rewarded.

This is exactly the point why I am skeptical of REQ. The burning mechanism just sounds "too good to be true" for HODLers of the token. It might also create a stronger incentive to just HODL REQ instead of ever spending it, which will hinder mainstream adoption. This might lead to REQ becoming a bubble like Bitcoin.
