Top of Whimsy: a four sided wooden top with simple faces drawn on each side. These faces are happy, angry, sad, and deceased. If the owner of this top spins it while saying its command word, it will have a different effect based on the face that lands face-up. If the happy face comes up, you gain one instance to cast the spell wish. An angry face results in a -1 decrease in a random ability score, determined by a 1d6. A sad face purges the spinner of all curses, and then adds a new one at random. The deceased face immediately deals twice their hit die in necrotic damage, e.g. if their hit die is 10d8, this effect would cause them to take 20d8 in necrotic damage.

I was dm'ing a campaign a couple years back which was about an ancient lost civilization pretty much appeared out of no where and a bunch of archaeologists and would be treasure hunters looting and exploring the isle. One of the recurring characters was an elf thief with a pair of retarded looking goggles which i made it a point to describe every time You see on top of her hear a garish looking set of specticals that look like they're carved out of a big chunk of sapphire with a strap made out of solid gold etc.the party ran into her. Well when she finally met her demise one of the party members of course looted the goggles and put them on only to see everything tinged blue. The party had them appraised and they were indeed magical but nobody could figure out what the spell was or what exactly was their purpose. Eventually after unsuccessfully trying to pawn the goggles off due to trying to figure out what exactly it was that they did one of the party members who had been wearing the goggles for a prolonged period of time tried to cast Read magic, I said you cast the spell but you don't see anything different, after some confusion I let it slip, The thief was wearing a pair of Goggles of Mundane Sight since her eyes had been permanently enchanted with detect magic.

TL;DR Goggles of Mundane site so you don't get blinded by magical auras
