Are waifu CYOAs good, or do they leave you wanting for something more real?

waifu cyoas are good, but in moderation. when you have too many waifu cyoas that all showcase the same type of waifus it gets really boring, but every now and then a really good waifu cyoa shows up.

...

I still have 6 slots for submitted companions open, if anyone wants to enter the world.

Side note - those aren't men's hands that the puppygirl is holding.

Part 2.

How about a professional monster hunter you convinced to work with you? Someone in the style of Van Helsing, or that dude from the Mummy movies.

I questioned on another thread but wasn't replied.
Is the Eremite part already being worked on?
I would like to submit a companion, but I would rather wait for the Eremite part to make a build.

It's not being worked on now, i'm trying to balance and failing my cyoa and uni time.

I'll toss up a build in a bit.

>toss up

Gross.

>Not emptying yourself of internal organs to become a hungry skellington
I bet you don't even drink milk to strengthen your inner lich.

>Good Doctor Aeneas
>A mortician and entrepeneur, the good doctor uses his knowledge in service of the rich and powerful, rulers afraid of death, desperate for life extension. He'll be willing to extend the aegis of the noble class from his many clients to you if you're willing to lend your skills to his practice.
>"They always end up paying, one way or another."

In the CYOA i'm working on i have the stat Luck.

I'm planning to have it work with the other 3, Power (offence and defence power), Intelligence (problem-solving, etc), and Stealth (avoiding enemies and sneak attacks).

Now the question is, should Luck allow you to instantly pass a PWR, INT, or STL check when ( total Luck > enemy stat )?
The other solution that i think works better is it could be deliberately used, and you burn the difference when ( total Luck > enemy stat ).

Failing a stat check would cause you to lose the companion with the lowest Luck.

>stat checks
are you making a cyoa or a quest?

Those murderous thugs managed to behead me. Though this doesn't seem to have kept me dead or impair my ability to speak, my head refuses to adhere to my neck and forces me to carry it or wear a tight gorget if I want to get anything done. At least my diminished master was recovered.

Lair:
> Northern Teb'Ihr – Forsaken Fortress

The good Duchess has agreed to host us, mentor me in the spells needed to create vampire guardians and even introduced me to the esteemed Seir Eilsa, all she asks in return is a pact and my willingness to “learn all that she has to offer”. Seir Luukas keeps mumbling about her being a “vamp” but I would hope that was obvious by now, she was clearly drinking blood.

If we were give a chance to act beyond the grave, let us do some good. I will found an order of undead knights to serve under my lady’s banner as we pacify our neighbors, immortalizing the deeds of all our cavaliers on a slab of stone from deep within the fortress. Should a knight fall for the last time, I will personally empower and deliver a stone copy to their living relatives to be honored as long as their bloodline continues.

You sure don't like many things.

I like slapping people.

Slap cyoa when?

It better have an option to slap people with money. There is no greater feeling than hitting someone with thousands of dollars.

Hitting them with your cock is better. Trust me.

It's more in the vein of this CYOA, which i'll now post.

I love it already.

Part 4/5.

It's not mine, some user made it a few years ago.

Do you have an alternative image? The only floating head i have in the entire NCYOA is a demilich, and i kinda want to keep it that way.

I understand it as the 4th and 5th part of a single CYOA.

The first three images seemed completely different, huh.

>So I've got a good contingent of soldiers and the men to lead them. The land itself is Garden of Eden like with how fertile it is, and I've brought in all the right specialists to make the best use of it. I've also got plenty of staff to make the drudgery of running this place basically never be an issue for me (except for those big, mandatory events where I need to be there), so that I can focus on more important things, like our quite-angry barbarian neighbors that are more than eager to raid and plunder our land. Gotta shut that shit down.

Goodie. I'm in the middle of restructuring/redoing every power for the new superpowers thingy.

Also, I'm in the middle of a Kamen Rider thingy... which is probably a mistake, since it means dividing up my focus.

Also also, I should update Worm v4 once I'm done with the above. I'm thinking Missions need to be revamped so peeps don't treat it as insta-free points (not like you can't break the game without Missions). Also, the Companions need to be changed a bit too. Like, maybe if you don't take a Companion, then you have to take one as a Rival.

I approve of omnipotence. I don't remember if Lawbreaker could work like that because it's been such a long time since I looked at it, but my philosophy's always been "Fuck it, if you can break the game in ways I didn't anticipate, then more power to ya".

Niiiiiice.

It's not that I don't like Endbringers, although I don't like Endbringers/Entities. But it was an easy mode solution for dealing with them. Other than as a specific hard counter to bullshit durability characters (the core is as dense as a galaxy! But we have lasers that can reach the core without ambient energy leak vaporizing us), you're better off with just a regular Blaster IV for destructiveness.

>I don't remember if Lawbreaker could work like
You approved it the last time I mentioned the snowball effect (with the step-by-step for how to get started).

This is tooting my own horn, but I'd like to think that V4's the most re-playable in terms of developing new combos.

Agreed. V4 is my personal favorite for that reason, though I can't remember a version being actually bad. They just focus on different aspects.

Oh, I provided a step by step? I am such "that player". Heeheehee.

>Oh, I provided a step by step?
No, _I_ provided it and you approved.

First problem is severe weather. At least I can look this shit up in the library. Probably going to be a tough spring, though, as we're not heavy on magic.

Large Monsters in spring. I have a good amount of guards for precisely this event; hunters and rangers will track these fuckers down, guards will keep my people safe, and the merry band of heroes will get to the killing. Should go smoothly.

Border Raids in Autumn. Somebody is apparently jealous of me and my WINNING. I've got a pretty good sized army for fending them off while my diplomat goes to court to bring the hammer down. Things might be pretty dicey, though.

Winter comes. And with it, a Trio of Magi; probably the ones responsible for all the shit I've been dealing with. I've got the priest, mayor, and steward to free up my time to consult the library to figure out the best way to murder these s'wits, but not much else in my favor. But hey, the bigger the challenge, the more fun it is, right?

Groovy.

Honestly, there's way too many ways of breaking V4, which I approve. It's why I mock anyone who goes the lazy route of Shattered Limiter.

Which, you know, now that I think about it... isn't that what Saitama does?

...

Which player builds made it in? Post those already submitted. I'd submit something if it wasn't done before.

Some guy did a vanhelsing build in the last thread. He had like 16 perks.

If you are redoing similar power ups, would you care to see my opinion on what are the "weaker" or boring powers? By boring I usually mean they're more difficult to combo.

>Mover
Flier - This is hilarious if you want to fuck off from Earth and fly to the other side of the universe, but otherwise is pretty limited in my view.
Teleporter - Quite spammable with True Multitasking, but it relies on reaction time to really shine. Teleporting someone in the air to fall to their death is funny, though.
Overall - Speedster outshines the other two.

>Shaker
Force Field - Feels kind of boring to me. Practical, but no flair.
Kinetic Field - Depending on the definition of "element", this is plain or hilarious ("I control the element of causality!").
Healing Circle - Genuinely weak when compared to the faster and more extensive Biological Manipulation.
Overall - The shakers are kind of meh. Only Kinetic Field has lulz; oxygen control is amusing even without a liberal interpretation, but it's less easily combo'd. (Though constantly pumping oxygen to your Battle Form: Fire to create an inferno would be awesome).

>Brute
Overall: They're all practical. Not necessarily boring though. They can all be combo'd.

>Breaker
Overall - They're all lulz generators and very commonly picked. They beg to be combo'd.

>Master
Creature Control - Could use some spice. It's just part of Skitter's ability.
Fidelis - Would greatly prefer if this was faster acting, but more specific or less potent. Like only people who see you in a certain way are effected.
Overall - Ok I guess. Avatar is great, comes with the inherent weakness that you yourself are less powerful.

>Tinker
Overall - All great. A lot of stuff can (and has) been done with these.

>Blaster
Overall - They're alright. Nothing exceptional in my view (except for... interesting applications of pseudo-causality breaking).

>Thinker
Overall - All interesting. All readily combined with other stuff.

>Striker
Overdriving - I dunno, this always felt like it lacked kick. It's useful, but it's hard to grasp what exactly its boundaries and capabilities are. Almost every other power does a better job explaining that.
Overall - The first two are nice. Biological Manipulation+Abominable Me is obvious. Energy Absorption is one of those powers you can use for almost anything if you're creative.

>Changer
Henshin! - I personally like it, but it feels too close to Biological Self Manipulation. A completely different power would probably be better, while letting people with Biological Self Manipulation, if they wish, choose a single form to take that has "higher specs".
Overall - Flavorful. Abominable Me feels weak and limited without other certain powers, however.

>Trump
Overall - Where balance goes to die. Its focus on utilizing others makes it tactical and thus fun.

>Stranger
Overall - They're... alright. You mentioned you had trouble thinking of "good" Stranger powers. Strangerless should probably be 2 points.

So yeah. Those are my opinions on the major powers.

important question:

can vampires have sex?

why they would not be able too? That's how you can make half-vampires

but are there half-vampires?

Dhampir
Born a vampire rather
than made, it possesses
all the powers of a
vampire and none of its
weaknessness. Sunlight
does not harm them and
they are immortal

Why the fuck wouldn't they?
Are you asking if they can get pregnant/impregnate or if they can get blood flowing to the dick/vag?

Huh, I looked them up in companions section for some reason. Noted.

Thanks for the input. I'll screenshot this for future reference.

Yeah, some powers are there just to be there. I mean, what's a super power list without Flier y'know?

That said, some of the weaker powers are ridiculously broken with the right combo.

Lets take a look at a few. Flier isn't particularly combo-able off hand, but in-story, the ability to fly and say, shoot lazerz, is pretty potent.

Force Field can be nasty. Imagine you're in a room with your enemy, you can form the Forcefield in such a way to corner them, then crush them into pulp. Or just trap them inside with you and use Battleform: Fire to burn up all the oxygen.

Healing Circle for torture. But also to keep your crew going. Remember, in Worm, Crowd Control and Healz are highly prized. Heck, combine it with a Master power for nigh immortal minions. After all, powers don't have to necessarily combo with each other in order to interplay with each other.

Creature Control: It depends on how you use your creatures really. Same deal with Skitter. Her insect control is technically "weak", she just uses it well.

Fidelis: Fidelis is too powerful if it were faster acting... in which case, you can combo it with something like Timeless, Lawbreaker, Kinetic Control etc. Remember, Fidelis is amount of time spent around you. Timeless is time traveling yourself. BOOM. Insta game breaker.

That's why Timeless is so utterly broken. I think there's a power where you imbue someone with invulnerability depending on how long you touch themthat depends on how long you touch someone.

Overdriving is basically what the Marvel character, Overdrive does. Only it does it for just about anything. If you have minions, you can Overdrive them too.

Henshin is just my preference. I'll admit that it was hard justifying its presence. Though bear in mind that as a Worm CYOA, power levels are generally weak by themselves, and Henshin gives an overall higher power level vs cost, as a standalone.

Abominable Me, as with Timeless, Fidelis etc. It was too powerful, so it was nerfed so that its OPness wouldn't show unless Comboed.

The current super powers one I'm working on probably has higher power levels vs Worm, but still just upper mid tier vs Marvel/DC. Unless you combo them, thereby allowing you to make Galactus your lil' bitch.

I'll have to balance it later on, of course.

Much like the Worm V4, it'll have a mix of power levels. Some powers will seem weak unless comboed. Some will be straightforward. Some are weak even when comboed. Etc.

It just won't follow the Worm categories and have way more powers/variety and openess while still being constrained enough to require combo-ing. If I manage to pull it off, it'll also have a variable setting system. And I hope to have a more robust Companions/Rivals section.

Aluvian Mornael

A young elven noble turned into a vampire against her will, she somehow managed to slay her sire and break free. Exiled from her homeland, she still retains her spiritual powers and is no stranger to combat.

>"Our tradition is a corpse of wisdom. Yet maybe something beautiful can still grow on its rotten remains."

That sounds great. There was a PDF CYOA of superpowers a while back that had a ton of superpowers to choose from, all reasonably balanced incredibly enough. I've since lost it, but perhaps another kind user could post it.

You have the right idea by mixing power levels. I'd advise against having really expensive top-tier powers though - Worm V5 does that and spending 20 points on a single power is almost always waaaay better than using those 20 points to mix powers. If you could, sticking around 1-2 points for each power would be preferable as it encourages anons to look for combos.

(An amusing combo for Worm occurred to me that I haven't seen yet: Fidelis+Energy Absorption (Ambient): Loyalty).

>Reunu Pertemru: Sand Storm, Curse of Suffering.
I'm going to continue to be a jack of all trades. No one book fully interests me enough to devote myself entirely to it. I do not pursue immortality.
>Companions: Rauha the Reaper, Nadya (Free), Zyanya.
Rauha just seems like fun; Zyanya can give me a home if I serve her well enough, and I should be able to do that. Nadya comes with the book and makes home life better.
>Minions: Bayrok, Executioner, Dessicator.
I am actually surprised I didn't pick up more of these guys on the way out; guess I spent too much time fetching books. But, they are all strong.
>Perks: Old Soul, Apothecary, Bloodcrafter, Surgeon, Artificer.
Not my first go at the world, and it probably won't be my last, which is why I'm not concerned with seeking immortality. I'll make my own alchemical equipment so that the stuff I scrounge up in the woods can be properly made to the highest of standards.

>Enemies: Angry Mob
I guess Zyanya can't keep her people under control. Oh well, more corpses for the army.

>Nation: Lorekhmu
Since that is where Zyanya is.

>Lair: Ghost Town
There are plenty of these in Lorekhmu, or so it seems. I can handle some of the more unruly spirits, and once I get a Soulwell down, I should be producing Soulstone's like a motherfucker.

Hello there, user. Don't mind me. I'll just be sitting quietly over here, observing the goings-on. You won't even know I'm here.

Elves are not for sexual.

>Implying Baron Orloke is not the only waifu anyone would need

Baron Orloke is for FRIENDLY HUGS, not for LEWDS.

Forgot to mention that Marked applies to the ABB, Empire 88, and Coil.

Yeah, all powers will only cost a handful of points. Normal mode will just let you take 2 or 3, so that you're forced to combo. Of course, there'll be an easy mode as well where points are given out like candy in a pro-diabetes convention.

I think I actually made a team where the team leader had that as a power. He wasn't the brains of the operation, just its face. There was another member who was invulnerable and her other power forced enemies to focus on her. Or something to that effect.

Bit of a Doctor Worker there.

If I had to give some criticism, the only thing that bugs me is how boring the Machsomething elven nation is. There's basically no interaction with other nations and no wars. I would at least change the fact that they don't trade with anyone (slave trade should be a lucrative enterprise), and that nobody goes there (saying that a lot of fugitives and generally shady people run to the elven territory because of legalized slavery would make it more appealing for a novice necromancer to move there). Also, adding some part about slave raids into human territory and counterraids by humans would make the political atmosphere a little more interesting.

Of course I am! What else would I be other than a totally ordinary individual?

He said I was "MAD," when I set about activating more than one clone at the same time!

"INSANE," he called me, when I vowed only to use my own blood for the ritual...

Yet, he taught me everything I know. I miss him.

But it's OK, I made a new family. Little 'Nina was so broken when I found her, fixing her was probably what kept me whole. My friends and I have quite a comfortable home out of this old laboratory, and the income we get from those rich enough to seek out my medical services ensure that are well stocked from our trips into town. Outsiders tend to mistake me for a group of close sisters, and I'm not keen on correcting them. Mr. Suthersworth handles most of the day to day operations and trade, and he does a far better job than I'd be capable of.

But all is not well, and it's a good thing that Uncle Dante and the lads have insisted on teaching tactics and fighting techniques. The "Doctor" that twisted 'Nina so has turned her gaze upon my work, and sees competition. Her creations are massive and sturdy, but they are stupid, clumsy, and do not coordinate with each other. I will need to have words with this woman, and they are in my way.

I sort of just stopped. It was at about that time we started having really good graphic layout CYOA's come about and I didn't feel I could meet the standard.

Yes.

You fucking idiot.
