What are the thing elf do that help their forest home?

Elvenkind and us humanity can make a pretty good or decent partners and allies.

You're quite right, good thing Gnomes tend toward Good and not any particular side of Chaos or Law.

Elves on the other hand tend toward Chaos, loving freedom, variety, self-expression.

I hate to say that, but this depends on the setting and seems to be a rather DnD thing. Tolkiens elves and warhammer elves are more or less order.

My elves are spirits come into mortal flesh at sparsely located founts where reality and the otherworld collide. They cannot venture far from these places as they would die from the withdrawal of magic, and so have developed a culture revolving around preserving their homeland and protecting their fount of magic.

Thanks to a war that utilised manabombs, the structure of reality was disrupted so that magic seeped out of the world as it couldn't anchor, anymore. Due to this, the elves started to war with eachother in suicide missions trying to claim the remaining founts like drying up oasises. Their only hope is a branch of elves that have adapted to survive without magic by becoming more flesh than spirit, becoming "Half-elves" who barely carry any of their otherworldly heritage with them and appear like a distorted, alien humans.

Dwarves, turn, are elves who have appeared in the mountains and underground, but the lines are blurred.

It's almost as if elves are a fictional construct and can be highly interpreted to be many different things, yet everyone knows what one is.

Yet, at the same time, you made a rather absolute statement about an elves nature, which seems to imply that they are flexible enough to be different from setting to setting.

Forgive me for trying to have some variety to elves while also maintaining the base structure of an elf, instead of the same xenophobic and melodramatic bullshit.

The vegan thing is from the complete book of elves, the emasculate admittedly just something that caught on as a meme, which DnD elves never tend to disprove. You can go back to Tolkiens and Warhammer elves for that, there you can find soem manly elves.

This will never be a good argument, elves" in mythology are all over the place, sometimes dwarves, sometimes trolls, never pointy eard archers. Fantasy elves are far away from the alfar.

Another thing where Tolkien did a great job, by making elf-human relationship really fucking rare and with harsh consequences. But when you have half-elves everywhere it just leaves the impression that elves are sluts for humans. Which is never a good thing for elves, in-universe and from a meta-perspective.

Has to make you wonder or think that male elves who're in to human females are likely to have alot or numerous half-elf-half-human offspring and or grand-kids.

If human genes are more dominant then I'm assuming half of any human pop. is half-Elven.

I imagine most half-elves are from just that.

To fully emphasize or be specific, a male elf who's in to human efmales is likely to have numerous half-elf kids and grandkids. Since an elf lives longer than a human, so when the current human female spouse of a male elf passes away, the male elf will be in love with another human female and have another or more half-elf offspring. And so on and so forth.

I prefer my elves shorter and not taller and their eyes fairly unique and colourful.

A half elf would have the pointed ears and human shaped eyes, with maybe irises of an elven colour.

I like a mix of this.

I guess the ideal appearance for half-elves is being physically taller than humans but less taller than elves, human facial and bodily hair, human facial features but the eyes of elven genetics. And slightly more muscle mass than an elf

Male half-elves are fit with muscles but not overtly muscular, just something akin to attractive male models with muscles. They have facial hair; beards and moustache, but male half-elves' beards are always short and rugged, basically five o' clock shadows only.

Female half-elves have a quite fit like their elven parent but have the curves and meat of their human parent.

And ofcourse both male and female half-elves' ears are pointed, but not as sharp or pointy as an elf's and have a similar roundness as a human's.

I can't really recall the elves being silly in Tolkien but tbf the last time I read Tolkien was forever ago and the last thing I read was the silmarillion which is mostly just horrible tragedy after tragedy so nobody is really silly or happy.
