It seems like everyone is talking about quest threads lately...

It seems like everyone is talking about quest threads lately. Even Hiro is considering allowing them to return to Veeky Forums. What do you think can be done to help get them back on Veeky Forums besides becoming a mod and removing the sticky yourself?

Nope, that was April fools prank. just like My Little Politics, FitLit and couple others.

>Constantly starts metathreads about quests
>Gee everyone is talking about quests, we should take them back
Your autism is incredible. I know quests had that huge number of threads along with that huge number of replies that made them ideal shitposts; but now that it has a containment board, surely you can think of new ways to shit up Veeky Forums? Or do you believe that quests will never be surpassed as the ultimate shitpost and so need them back on Veeky Forums?

I wonder what /qst/ is up to
>Anime mecha quest
>/pol/ quest
>Animu academy quest
>Harry Potter quest
Removing quests was the right call.

>April

>I wonder... if quests are allowed back on Veeky Forums, what would happen to /qst/?
I know his english is worse than my japanese, but still. Reading comprehension, dude.

Quests clutter the board less than generals.

>Muh generals
Questfag's last bastion. "After you removed shit, there's still vomit! That's why we should bring back shit!"

Yeah, wouldn't want people talking about actual traditional games.

But at least generals are trash like "Anime Mahou Shonen Waifu Butler Quest Part CCCXXVII chapter 2.3: Peeping on Mariko's Pantsu!"

>muh "bring back quests" episode on Veeky Forums
FUCK OFF, WE'RE FULL

I'll tell you what will happen - the shitty anime quests that are written more like VNs than actual RPGs will immediately flood the board, craving the Veeky Forums traffic.
Quests can be good, but the overwhelming majority of them are shit.

Fuck no

We don't need half this board populated by eternal quest threads again

That's less space for everyone else

As a questfag, nothing. Not a single goddamn thing. As much as I hate the fact that the screaming antiquest manbabies won, the fact remains that they HAVE won: and even if quests did come back to Veeky Forums they'd bitch that much harder for having tasted victory.

Give it a rest and try making the most of what we've been left with.

>50 different kinds of 40k and mtg
>actual traditional games

Heaven forbid people talk about traditional games on the traditional games board.

Saying that you're all fucking retards is an insult to retards. You deserve every Ring stain on your table. Somebody link me to Rule 34 pics of Yotsuba. All the boards need more scat porn and guro. Hiroshimoot needs to be raped by a horse, become emotionally dependant on it, then get cucked.

This is still not the worst post in this thread, because this thread exists

Nah, I like having 3 extra pages to talk about things. I already only have 8 because I hide generals for games I don't play; I'd rather not only see half a board.

Either way it would be both foolish and pointless to question Hiro's qualified decision making process ruling creation and destruction of boards.

why are CYOA and "elf slave what do" allowed but quests no?

Yes, 40k and MtG are in fact traditional games.

Pantsu Loli ERP Quest LXXVIII is not.

because "technically not a Quest", ditto for Jumpchain and Towergirls

>ERP ... is not

>you deserve every ring stain on your table

slow down satan

>It seems like everyone is talking about quest threads lately
No, it's mostly just you, but I have to admit you're very dedicated in your obsession.

so which one of these are traditional games?

CYOA, I don't know. Elf slave wat do is just shitposting spam, but it has history behind it (christ I remember those back in 2010). It's the same deal with /a/ having Sakurafish and that one homoerotic DBZ doujin being posted daily.

but we had quests back in 2010 as well, why is literal shitposting ok but quests no?

Oh, right, this part of the thread. Let me do it:

"But it's worldbuilding for fantasy settings for use in various games"

"Worldbuilding isn't Veeky Forums"

A whole lot of shitposting ensues.

Oh, and Filename Threads are universal across the site. They're the sanctioned unofficial off-topic discussion thread.

How about this:

>/qst/ board is renamed to forum games
>allows ALL board/forum based posting games except for:

1. Freeform roleplay
2. ___ ending in dubs/trips/etc games

Why?

#1 is a garbage magnet
#2 is a spam magnet that clogs the archive and is /b/-tier crap

Sensible enough? It's just a slight tweak of the name and added rules, yes?

I think CYOA, Jumpchain, Towerwhatever should be moved to /qst/, if they try that new amendment/addition that the other user suggested.

>universal forum games board

Please add:
>

Better suggestion: quests are allowed across the site, but limited by genre. No anime lesbian quest on Veeky Forums, /qst/ is used to contain all the quests for the boards that don't want them on their board.

All of them look quite normal to me.
Can I also assume you're the same guy who posts "Not Veeky Forums related, a thread died for this" in pretty much every creative thread this board manages to produce?

no, I'm not that guy also if you think those threads are creative in a Veeky Forums related way you have a problem

Or we could all just cut the shit and not try to backseat moderate when we not only can't all agree on anything, but many of us throw an autistic fit of impotent nerd rage if we don't get our way 100% of the time?

Can't we just... you know. Not be cunts?

We're allowed to have meta threads in the same way the mentally institutionalized still have the right to bear arms, and for much the same reasons. Just take a look at this thread so far.

HAHA!

No.

See:

Whoops, meant see:

Looks like ribbonfag's art, he's probably posting his drawings like usual. I have a hard time believing you can't ignore the occasional thread he makes, and want to drive away one of the few old drawfags who still regularly post here.

A brainstorming thread with cool folklore about spooky Icelandic Yule Lads was exactly the kind of creative thread that were plentiful ages ago. After reading the first thread I'm itching to include in my campaign a grumpy hobo goat-man who ends the village's midwinter celebration by crashing the party and drinking all of the host's booze.

We had some quests that were Veeky Forums related. Quests used to be site wide (/a/ had them) until they were all dumped onto Veeky Forums's lap in early 2012.

Quests were Veeky Forums exclusive for years before slowly spreading out to other boards. Then, some /a/ posters cried and moot moved them all back to Veeky Forums.
The very first quest was Ruby Quest, on Veeky Forums, in 2008. And there were a handful of pseudo-quests before that, on Veeky Forums.

I have no problem with a drawfag being a drawfag and creating pictures, but it's a shit thread that serves no purpose. Veeky Forums is not the board for playing forum games.

Because /a/ and /co/ got sick of their brands of cancerous quests and since /a/ is one of the largest boards they were able to push them to Veeky Forums. Before that quests were shit, but at least they were our shit and we could deal with that. Getting fuckers like Bromont forced here created a culture of pure shit.

Yes, but the "My imouto's Pantsu~ Quest episode 7531.2 redux of the redux" quest came when /a/'s quests got forced back here.

They weren't really a problem here until then.

Nope, Drew the Lich was first by quite a bit. RubyQuest was just the one that got shameless advertised all over the place and created the attenetion craving questmaster.

It's pedantic, but I count Drew the Lich as one of the older pseudo-quests.

They skate by on technicalities and thus show just how fucking arbitrary the entire thing is.

Running a literal pathfinder/D&D game on Veeky Forums isn't allowed as it would qualify as a quest.

Funnily enough, one of the animu quests running at the time of /qst/'s creation was literally using Pathfinder as its ruleset.
Most quests have actual rules and dice rolls that have meaningful impact on success or failure. Many are rules lite, but not all.

Most of them use some form of ruleset yes, but my point was mainly that actually running a traditional game isn't allowed on a board that talks about said traditional game.

>After reading the first thread I'm itching to include in my campaign a grumpy hobo goat-man who ends the village's midwinter celebration by crashing the party and drinking all of the host's booze.

this kind of forced discussion is pathetic

to be fair.... shit tastes better than vomit.

Forced discussion? I don't understand what you mean here.

And you speak from experience?

It's a meme, it means "stop talking about what I don't like."

To be honest, genre is a murky thing that can be lawyered to death, so you can argue if so and so quest adheres to said board or not by nitpicking and spinning things around.

So wouldn't having a catch-all board to dump everything there be a decent, halfway compromise?

Indeed it was.

But "muh traffic" and "muh I don't even need other boards."

Yep.

Thank god.

>to be fair.... shit tastes better than vomit.

Methinks that's just 1 or 2 people pretending to be a crowd.

Moving all quests that have more to do with other boards than this one is a good start. Veeky Forums quests are fine, the myriad of /a/ rehashes of their favorite animu is not.
