Game is new. Almost nobody has played it. I still haven't gotten my Kickstarter copy in the mail.

From the PDF though, it seems like a fairly narrative system.

Honestly I mostly got in on the Kickstarter for the "all the Mongoose Conan books" reward and for the adventure and setting books for this system that I backed the PDFs of.

I don't know enough about the system yet to know if I'll like it, but skimming it makes me think it's more like FFG Star Wars than it is like Runequest.

As said, game is new. Not many people have played it so far. You're unlikely to get many reviews at this point.

Narrative games can be good for people who like roleplaying over rules. The problem is that only a tiny minority of players are like that. Most people want GOOD rules that give them satisfaction for in game achievements. Which is why most D&D derivatives focus on the nitty gritty of loot and treasure but skip out on other mechanics.

I found the pdf in under a minute. Get off your lazy ass and go look.

I've run a playtest of it at a convention. It's very fiddly and strongly encourages metagaming. Sometimes you want to intentionally not dodge or parry incoming attacks so that the GM will get fewer Doom points. It's hard to challenge the players while still staying within the rules. It's especially hard to seriously threaten a PC in heavy armor and a shield, which is odd considering what it's based off of.

Conan wore armor quite often, usually scale or chain mail.

Thats mostly cause of Frazetta who loved muscled dudes and it stuck. In most stories he wears a chain shirt and gets his arms scratched up.

The momentum mechanic and combat dice are really pretty fun, though the Doom mechanic feels a bit weak.

It's effects per Doom point are all over the place, and require someone to really know exactly how they plan to use them if they don't want to have the effect be useless.
