They're no different.

Hey. Leave past thread drama in the last thread.

>more political shitposting

The thread maker shouldn't be so whiny.

>calling out an user by IP like a true hot pocket
>saying I shouldn't be whiny when I just don't want shitposters to infest the thread with off topic political jargon that belongs in /pol/

You're shitposting right now, though.

Jumpers, how do you come up with names for ships, companies, children, etc? Do you rename things or just use the default names?

I usually just do the default or do something painfully obvious like 'star gazer' for star ships.
>children
A-user that's kinda l-lewd.

Dumping builds, I'm writing up the summary of my time there as I post.

I don't, I leave everything unnamed in my chain because I suck at coming up with names.

We have a generic parenting jump that just drops one off on you without you having to do anything.

Which are the comfy low-threat SoL jumps? No dying allowed.

Slice of Life Jump?

SoL?
Anyways if you mean Slice of Life Youtube is pretty good for that, Dan Vs can be nice if you avoid the crazies, Gonzo Journalism can be quite peaceful and MMBN could be slice of life depending on your net op.

Shit out of Luck.

I think he wants a hobo CYOA.

>comfy low-threat SoL jumps?
Sitcoms.

There are sitcom jumpchains?

Usually I have a few favourites, or use references to other films and stuff. Anything else I tend to roll randomly for inspiration, like the first letter, or use a random generator from Seventh Sanctum.

No, Generic Sitcom is a Jump though and it's weird, in that you can walk between Sitcoms.

Not on drive.

It's in the Imaged jump section.

Leftmost column, 5th row from the bottom in alphabetical order

Just to be clear-so is the plot literally just "Chaos is going to destroy the world, go stop him"?

I know I'm probably overthinking it, just wanted to be sure.

Yes.
You can alternatively help him destroy the world however.
Or just not care at all and carve your own path in life.
Choice is yours.

It's more like "An evil knight kidnapped the princess! Go rescue her-oh, that was easy. WAIT, NOW THERE ARE FOUR FIENDS, AND THEY'VE STOLEN THE LEGENDARY CRYSTALS FOR THEIR MASTER CHAOS! YOU HAVE TO STOP THEM! Oh hey, you did! Now-OH GOD TIME TRAVEL. WAIT, THE EVIL KNIGHT WAS ACTUALLY CHAOS ALL ALONG?! AND HE'S BEEN USING A TIME LOOP TO LIVE FOREVER?!" And THEN "Chaos is going to destroy the world, go stop him"!

I was talking about the plot of the canon game but thanks I gu-

-huh. Sounds /exactly/ like that one porn game and it's sequel.

It's surprisingly simple and convoluted at the same time. The evil knight, rather then dying when he was killed, somehow wound up in the distant past. When the Heroes of Light defeated the Four Fiends (which he would create as Chaos), they were sent back in time to that same point. The evil energy from the fiends transformed the knight into Chaos, who would then slaughter the Heroes of Light, create the Four Fiends, and start a time loop. Eventually, one of the loops (the canon game) ends with the Heroes of Light killing him, ending the loop.

Huh.

So, if the Fiends are the "shatterpoint" that gave him his powerup-assuming you wanted to break the time loop earlier without resorting to Balefire, would the smart thing to do be to seal the Fiends' life essence in a crystal or something?

Or just chuck the Dark Crystal back to the Void/into the Warehouse so he can't use it?

Who needs to do the smart thing when you like swords?
Also this would make it impossible to beat said fiends to power yourself up since they would of never been created in the first place and you'd probably start a paradox of some kind.

Well, it worked for the Black Materia.

By which I mean it totally didn't work, he gave the Weapons a power buff and sent them out to genocide everyone so he could absorb them and the lifestream itself, just in a slower process.

So don't do that, it'll definitely backfire.

That, or prevent him from escaping into the past in the first place. I mean, if he's still in the past, he can cause a lot of problems for the future even if he's not Chaos. If you can't stop him from escaping in the past (which I don't know how he did in the first place), it might be best to just let events play out and travel back in time and kill him.

How does one go about procuring thousands of corpses without actually killing them yourself? Graveyards are nice and all, but at some point people start planting Paladins everywhere, and that's no fun. Battlegrounds are good, but people from both sides take is as an offense when you raise their soldiers to your side.

Also how does one avoid undead gaining consciousness from the amount of necromantic energy in the air?

Fan wank it.

I'm not... super well versed in the particulars of this plot, given that I always took it more or less at face value.

But if I remember right, there were two primary methods to end the loop. Either the Light Warriors defeat Chaos, who is the final boss of the game, or the Light Warriors are defeated by Garland, who is the first boss of the game.
Garland being so piss weak that a squad of four LV1 White Mages has a decent shot of kicking his ass through sheer bludgeoning power. He is not strong.
But if he had won, I think the logic was he would never get shunted back in time in the first place? At that point he might not even be aware that he was supposed to do so. Maybe. The game doesn't really go into a lot of detail about how the time loop works or how much Garland is aware of in the first five minutes of the game. He certainly didn't have any magical powers he could bring to bare. But it's also possible that he could just become Chaos unimpeded at that point, which would probably be a Bad End.

But if you just want to jack the plot out from under him, the thing to do I guess would be to just beat the Light Warriors to Garland, capture him without letting him get shunted back in time, and then maybe do some fiddly bits to strip him of what little power he has left and/or make him forget all about the time looping plan.

Then you just have to deal with whatever fallout occurs from the resulting paradox, since the Fiends should have never come into existence then.

> How does one go about procuring thousands of corpses without actually killing them yourself?
You could grow them. If you've got cloning technology or something similar, and the means for mass production, it'd be pretty easy to grow a bunch of corpses.

I dare say it would be easier than keeping them alive, even.

Hell, it kinda worked for Rusty Venture.

Get Motherbox (Injustice) and/or Doormaker (Worm) and travel to a parallel universe when everyone suddenly died because reasons.

Hmm. I have a tendency to hit villains with Save Or Suck rather than Save Or Die. Y'know, like Flesh To Stone (neat thing about that D&D spell, it leaves the target neither alive nor dead - meaning their friends can't just True Res them).

Yeah, uh, we're from the pet hospital down the street, and we understand you have a dying animal on the premises.

Pretty sure anyone that has True Res could fix the stone thing anyway.

Or just break the statue and then rez em

Why had I never thought of that, huh. Doesn't seem a very "Necromancer" thing to do, but hey, free corpses AND it beats getting hit by Smiting every time I go shopping.
Tempting, that's a lot of corpses. Only problem is bringing them back en masse

Yeah, but if the target's dead then True Res can bring them back from the safety of the caster's home, instead of having to track down the statue first and get past whatever defences have been set up to make it difficult/dangerous.

Wouldn't anyone who could cast TR just be able to use a Wish or Miracle anyway? Or some other spell to just get rid of or get back the statue?

> Doesn't seem a very "Necromancer" thing to do, but hey,
It's just a matter of aesthetics, user! Don't forget you can make cloning pods look like anything you want. Cover them in bones, make the fluid inside glowing green, whatever you like! As long as it's creepy and dead looking, you're doing it right.

> Adventuring Party: "What the fuck are these?!"
> Necromancer: "Those are dead people. They are born only to die. That is their purpose."

That's...that's terrible...I knew there was a reason I liked you, Konata! I mean, aside from your appreciation of Doctor Eggman and your saturday morning cartoon villain tendencies.

But I haven't liked swords for countless milenni-

>remembers that one capstone from 8-Bit Theater

-well fine, COUNTABLE millennia. Swords are clumsy, unwieldly, inefficient chunks of matter and sometimes energy. The true blade lies in the eye of the mind, or the boot of the soul!

Also I exist beyond causality at this point, so that's hardly any trouble.

Now see, I get going with the flow works but-Bhunivelze is foaming at the mouth from the time I sic'd a nightmare of his dead mother on him, Nyarlathotep's takiing Sin for a joyride, Kefka's got the giggles and my Ultimecia just told the other Ultimecia to grow up and get a life.

I've got more than a dozen other apocalypses to manage here, and most of them would be worsened by a time paradox.

Whelp.

That plan's off the table.

Demons from Malfeas who've joined the Carnifex Guild learn a technique to chop another demon in such a way they end up with one life demon, and one demon corpse. It's so convenient demon connoisurs have been known to only eat their own corpses.

Out of the Exalted, Infernals alone have the potential to generate their own demons instead of summoning them. Plus, theirs won't be salty and tainted from millennia of surrender oaths.

As for your second question, the true answer is being a damn good necromancer and doublechecking your spells. But Franken Fran has a room that stops the dead rising, Rest in Peace from Innstrad lets you stop that through holy magic (so creative use of white mana-based lands might do it too) and FF10 has a little song and dance routine that soothes restless spirits. Oh, and Dirge said you don't have to do the dance part.

That works, thanks! Those cuffs I learned to make back in FF8 are really earning their keep. As is that computer program that resolves time paradoxes. Somehow.

...I really ought to ask Dirge how that thing actually works.

I don't get it

It may have backfired in part because I took the drawback that meant I had to face down the Weapons. I may never know. Aeris was pretty pissed off at me, but when I told her it was either that or a fucking moon crashing into the planet... well, it could have been worse.

The fact that I'd just thrown Hojo off the Highwind may have softened the blow a little too.

I mean, there's no real way to resolve this without creating a time paradox.

>Only problem is bringing them back en masse

You have the portals. You can create undead minions.

Logistics should not posse a problem.

I don't like it either, but-way I look at it, it's either immediate time paradox or a triple apocalypse sundae with a side order of tentacles.

The moon's always crashing to the Earth in these situations, isn't it? The Daystar's equal parts gaudy
boast and sophisticated mechanism for empowering a draconic embodiment of antagonism, but you have to admire the thought put into Silver Chair.

A moon that doubles as a dimensional anchor is much, much harder to crashland.

Appropriate elevator muzak, on the way down to the necrogenesis production lines:

youtube.com/watch?v=H3a5pFbpjSY

Sure, but that assumes the defences don't include opposing Miracles, Wishes or similar grades of protection (e.g. Mythals, prison planes, etc).

At which point you're not really just using Flesh to Stone anyway

Actually you can create an area where all the bodies within it become your undead slaves with exalted necromancy. Just pule those fuckers up. Overlord magic can also do it, one necromancer made an entire cemetary awaken and he was weaksauce new worlder.

You could also use mtg black spells, undead legion is pretty good and mtg zombies have a habit of not stopping when dismembered.

At level 17? Sure. But unlike True Res / Wish / Miracle, Flesh To Stone is usable at level 11, and six levels later it still manages to negate one of the big three despite the disparity.

True, but it's also countered by Flesh to Stone, at the same level. It may counter one of the big three but it also has a perfect counter to it at the same level.

>one necromancer made an entire cemetary awaken and he was weaksauce new worlder

Nah, in Overlord's New World undead appear automatically once in areas where many people died violently or when you put too many corpses together.

The necromancer and his minions spent weeks creating more undead using a magical item to further boost their skills. Once there were that many undead together, many more started awakening on their own.

Although I'm not saying that you couldn't do it with a 10th tier spell.

As and , there are other system better suited to create large numbers of undead instantly. Overlord can create them over the time and produce specially strong ones, but we don't have any canon examples of a large number of undead being created at once. You could fanwank it, though.

Just fix the timeline after that.

I have often wondered how much of a skeleton you need to count as undead for necromancy, could you just make a hundred doll bodies with 1 bone in each to turn 1 skeleton into a hundred? Do skeletons require a certain ratio of bone to function? Could we make our skeletons more powerful by building a massive golem body with just a skeleton skull and use necromancy to empower it?

Overlord's necromancy can create this thing (it's about 2,5 meters tall) from just a skull.

So... What happens if you cast animate dead after a massive crawdad boil?

>could you just make a hundred doll bodies with 1 bone in each to turn 1 skeleton into a hundred

I'm pretty sure that's how voodoo works, actually. Except it doesn't even have to be a bone, blood or hair or something and then use magic to finangle the rest by making the doll look like whoever you want to affect.

Anyway, I'd imagine it depends on the system but in general yes-more skeletons=more fun. It's why I've always employed the Katamari Damacy method when it comes to battlefield necromancy.

True, though we now return to the start of the argument with "but first they have to get past whatever defences are in their way, because they can't just walk down to the local temple and ask/pay for their friend back".

Basically yeah, could you use the crawdad corpses to create some undead mass crawdad monstocity of all claws and legs slowly shifting and scuttling in their hollow shells.

True, and its great, but could it do the same with just an arm. Necromancy as a hobby or craft needs more exploration. I intend to further the field of nonvitalistic animation so that one day we necromancers can step back into the limelight!

Though now I wonder if you could use crawdad husks as single unit necro batteries to pilot or power stuff.

Wasn't that the middle of the argument? It started off just talking about how FtS negates True Res and then that being discussed.

To be fair, they can probably just go to someone else and pay for a teleport or something or just pay for a Wish instead, if they're already paying for a TR.

So is this done done?

It's Jumpable.
It has some text issues like it not being stated that companions imported with Adventure Awaits get as much CP as warriors of light but if you're curious about something that seems off just check last thread, heaven's user answered most questions and will be releasing a '1.1' version soon.

How much CP do companions get if imported by 'Adventure Awaits'?

Same as Warriors of Light as clarified last thread by author.

Doesn't really look necromantic to me. Seems more like it's an iron golem that's being piloted by a reanimated skull.

Do we have a list of space jumps? We have them for magic and bestowable stuff, so I was wondering if we had a version for settings based in space.

Great, let's see...
Entire Thief perk tree (500CP)+The Black Belt 100cp and 200cp (800CP)+Thief Gloves should make me pretty damm good at thievery and acrobatics. Makes me want to start a phantom thief chain.

What was the last great monster you slew /jc/? A dragon, a demon, dragon/Macho Man Randy Savage hybrids?

Hey I have an eclipse phase question, I know that the modules of the habitat will have to be the same size and shape but is there a limit to how you can configure them? I'm looking To make either a hollow cylinder or something like pic related with the triangular gaps filled in.

Great monsters as in general or great monsters as in a threat to a late game tank spec Jumper?.

Because if the first. It's The beta blood Dragon who assaulted me when I captured The Alpha blood Dragon with my Master ball.

If it's threat to jumpers that would be The true Omega from Anima Beyond Fantasy.

I didn't specify any limits on their joints, and I'm not going to. Any of the shapes you describe are fine.

So in Pokemon which did you choose Aura or Psychic?

Does the runaway Phyrexianized Apex Deviljho I made count? Because if it includes things we made, then that.
Otherwise, the Dalamadur in Monster Hunter

cool because I've Modified them into an exponentially expanding von Neumann machine with unlimited resources and this will help keep them from bumping into any planets,And if I want the fabricator arrays to actually produce something planet scale. This will help Get it out.

Great Monster?
Golly the last one of those I fought was The Sovereign of Sorrow a life time or two ago.
The rest have been easily dispatched mid-tier threats.

Is that pherexia jump done yet?

They look like this in the anime and manga.

It's basically the same monster, but in the LN they are wearing full armor.

Eldrazi titans.

What are some Jumps that'll let me give my powers to my genetic off spring?

I think Discworld has a perk for that.

Generic Xianxia has a very good prick for that. So does Greek myth

Geukji High full version jump when?

It's so obvious it's not even funny. Just sad.

Not yet. Still missing the Green, Black and Drop-in perk trees, Items, and Companions.
It hasn't been a week since I claimed it, man. Hopefully it'll be jumpable by Sunday or it'll slow down due to university again.

In the DC Occult jump the Happy-Go-Lucky Goth is Death right? Just that they won't use any of their powers with you around.

whoa God damn did dictation act up there!
Let me retry that

Generic Xianxia And Greek myth have very good perks for lot.
No but she is death adjacent.
please don't offer Hottest girl,I don't know if I could take that again, being a monogamous jumper is suffering.

I'd already fallen sleep yesterday, but thanks for the suggestion anyway.

It's a cool idea, but I'm not sure how workable it is... Phrye in particular worked well as a Manse in my mind, mainly because she was already a building and existed outside of standard time.

I've also got items based on their signature panoplies too, so seem a little like doubling down to me.

Yeah, it's Death, taking a mortal form for a while. She normally does that for one day every century, living and dying as mortal.

Don't worry Bancho. I promise I won't offer to take Elesh Norn as a companion.
is this some sort of reverse psychology .
I wasn't going to offer her anyways

you know I always thought it was weird that there was no option to import somewhere you already have as a Manse,I've got lots of Places that follow me around , but I don't think any of them have the Metaphysical stuff to configure them into a Manse ,could we get something for that?

I assure you it is not! I just don't want to be tempted....

How sad. Sheoldred would've been cool to take along.

More seriously, can we get some Myr to take along? Love the little guys.

What happens if you take 21x Bodacious from High School DXD?

A Myr Hive attachment would be neat. Like the Ant Hive attachment in SimAnt, but metallic and cuter.

I'm really hoping the Swords of This and That are in... hell, Mirrodin is chock-full of great artefacts.

then you can't afford the best pimp cup in jump chain
