Infinity General - Asuka Kisaragi appreciation edition

Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli you can make little biker gangs from Akira with a leader sharing a name with a famous NXT Women's Champion (you thought I was going to mention NGE, didn't you?).

How viable are Aragoto? Thinking Bubblegum Crisis conversions.

First for Aleph!

Thank you OP for taking my request

Well they cant get cover, but have Mimetism. They move fast as all fuck and even have some button pushers. Some of them even have a brutal payload like Assualt Pistol, boarding shotgun, ect.

All for a decent price. I'd say worth it.

If they came with smoke they'd be the best bikers in the game.

Why isn't Plasma Exotic?

>This type of ammunition is named after the plasma-like ionized gas it holds by means of electromagnetic fields. Upon impact, the E/M containment field dissipates, causing the plasma to expand explosively. A hallmark of VoodooTech, the technology of the alien Ur Rationalists, Plasma is the most sophisticated technology on the battlefields of Paradiso. Until the alien invasion, this ammunition was confined to science fiction novels and Maya serials, but now it is part of the reality of warfare in the Human Sphere. Weapons capable of generating these hyper-advanced projectiles, typically carried only by the most elite troops of the EI, are invaluable technological treasures.

>Plasma is the most sophisticated technology on the battlefields of Paradiso.
>invaluable technological treasures.
>Category: Standard.

Yojimbo has smoke, is cheap, and is on a bike. He's pretty much JSA only though.

Maybe it's referring more to it's rarity? there seem to be a LOT of plasma weps in the basically one faction that can run it.

He's not an aragoto. Also extremely impetuous

To give more value to total immunity.

There's at least as much "Exotic" T2 in Ariadna
or "Exotic" stun on every Warcor ever taken, let alone the other sources of it.

Plasma just burns people real good. The distinction of exotic ammo is that it gets past total immunity, so only things that fuck you up in a roundabout way (overloading sensors/eyes with flash, disabling equipment with E/M, giving you super herpes with viral) are counted.

Easily one of the best bike profiles in the game.

T2 ammo is just combined JHP and flechette rounds, and it's exotic and bypasses total immunity.

Plasma burns you with temperatures equivalent to the fucking sun and also explosively expands likely either blowing holes in you or at the very least fucking up your internal organs through the shockwave.

I guess really what I'm getting at is fuck T2 ammo it shouldn't be exotic, and crits with it should be slightly less bullshit.

>bypasses total immunity.
Read the rules for total immunity friend. It specifically says it grants immunity to T2. Probably a relic from N2 but that's how they ruled it at Rumble and other tournaments around here.

Does anybody have templates for cut-out template weapons? I don't want to spend like 20 bucks for some plastic.

Asuka is gay.

The main advantage they have against other bikes in this game is that their running into the enemy with full movement at the start of each turn is largely option, leaving them regular for waiting for better oppportunities to strike and have easier coordinated orders, and their lack of cover is mitigated by mimetism. They're great for later game flanking and objective grabbing. I'd like them a lot more of the hacker I field most often of whom I named Baka didn't fail the majority of his WIP rolls for objective grabbing by some weird coincidence, because on paper they should be more amazing.

Thank you

Paper templates are on the official site. I just bought some foam board from dollar tree and made a cut out; works fine, if ugly. Foam board is great for making silhouette proxies, too.

General question: Has anyone used Spitefire Prowler much? They look great (statline wise, model isn't bad), but I don't see anyone using them.

As a person who faces Nomads pretty often, I find the LFT options more annoyingly surprising. Burns my TO, ODD, Holo2, and other camo skirmishers most likely found in the midfield by surprise more often than not. I'd think the spitfire is better suited on a model like the Hellcat if its going to be on a MI, at least in Vanilla. In Bakunin, it's not bad, but, well, Riot Grrrls exist with MSV2, Better BS, and an extra order with a kill if they're outside of a link team, and the Taskmaster's a better suited platform for the SWC with the better Red Fury and Koalas.

I think people are just scared to field a 1 wound model at 36 points, but I imagine he would be a nasty surprise in an infiltration heavy list. If you field him with two Zero Minelayers, that's 5 camo tokens in the mid-field, one of which is a very powerful fighter.

He's no Daofei, but an infiltrating spitfire is always good. Takes a big SWC investment but if you use him right he can definitely be worth it.

Riot Grrls only get MSV1, and they're worse in most FtF rolls because of no camo and no cover after the first kill. Frenzy may be a free order but it is not a good thing on a unit that wants to stay alive.

Taskmaster is great but he's on a whole other price level.

Dunno if it's any good, but THEME LISTS.

Oops, my image!

> Leon and Daley are Karakuri

Wut. If anything, the AD Police would be the Imperial Service anyways.

>Riot Grrls only get MSV1, and they're worse in most FtF rolls because of no camo and no cover after the first kill. Frenzy may be a free order but it is not a good thing on a unit that wants to stay alive

They only turn impetuous at the start of your next active turn. If you're a bakunin degenerate, you can link them and ignore that completely. They're stupidly good.

Oh I fucked up, reordered the list without reordering the labels.

Leon and Daley are Yojimbo and the Keisotsu medic, the Karakuri are boomers.

36 points and 2 SWC on a 1 wound model. Yeah nah, no thank you.

> Sylia wears a blue and silver Hard Suit equipped with retractable sword blades in the forearms, laser cannons in the palms and wings for full flight capability.
She would probably be a Shikami so she could use Super Jump for the wings. Tiger Soldier might work too, but the Knight Sabers explicitly use Powered Armor, so 2 wounds is probably more fitting than AD.

> Priscilla's suit becomes a modular core system to which a variety of selective heavy weapons can be attached. In the Crisis series, her Hard Suit also combines with her Motoslave (a motorcycle that transforms into an automated mecha or an exosuit) to combat more-advanced Boomers.
You would probably want a Su-Jian to stand in for her. It has the whole transformer thing going on.

> Linna dons a green Hard Suit equipped with "ribbon cutters" - long, electrically-charged nanomolecular ropes mounted behind the helmet that can be used to slash through Boomers and other high-tech opponents. She is also armed with explosive "knuckle bombers" - explosive charges in the right hand of her hard suit that could deliver devastating blows, as well as a finger-mounted triplet laser gun.
Hard one here, no Yu Jing HI have Monofilament CCWs. Maybe a Neko Oyama proxy since he has an EXP CCW?

> Nene's purple and pink Hard Suit's offensive weapon is a weak laser gun unsuited for taking out enemies; instead, it is used to scribble the Knight Sabers' signature onto their scene of actions. She relies on her suit's computer and electronic warfare systems to stay away from an enemy.
Probably Shang Ji Assault Hacker, it would have been better had he kept the normal HD from the previous edition.

It would require a lot more custom building, but I don't think the other Knight Sabers even had motorcycles besides Priss. Their big thing was their Powered Armor. It is a fun thought exercise, if nothing else.

They're great linked and probably the best value pain train in the game, but a solo Riot spitfire isn't automatically a better option than a Prowler when one has camo+infiltration and the other doesn't.

>I don't think the other Knight Sabers even had motorcycles besides Priss.
That's because you're thinking of 2040 instead of the vastly superior original. They didn't really have super jump, and the armour was only partly powered. I got the weapons to roughly match the originals as well.

Whoops, meant to type MSV1, it slipped. You can understand, right? The numbers are right next to each other.
But user, all sectorials are themed lists.

I mean, I occassionally field White Banner troops in a themed pseudo-sectorial list. It helps that Guilang, Daofei, and Tiger Soldiers are so good that it balances out the subpar Zhanshi.

One of these days I'm going to go crazy and field a five Zuyong list.

How comes anytime I write a shasvasti sectorial list, I can basically write 80% of it the same in vanilla and get a better 20% from the various other options.

I love the Shas thematically, but the sectorial seems so weak.

Preaching to the Choir here from what I've seen with most discussions.

I've seen Shasvasti units twice in my local meta, once as an HVT in an onyx list, and other as a Speculo killer in a generic CA list.

That's largely because it is. Loses a lot from vanilla, gains relatively little.

They're missing out. Noct, Sphinx and the infiltrators are top tier. Problem with SEF is they're just as top tier in vanilla as they are in the sectorial, and a bunch of the other Shas units are trash.

Yeah, I'd say I'm intrigued by a lot of their units, but the only link I'd be interested in trying is Sheskin+Gwailos (being tied for the best linked up BS in the game along with having mobile cover intrigues me). Two of those units you mentioned are available in Onyx. The AVA doesn't make much difference to me between all the skirmishers like Aswangs and Speculo Killers.

Riot Grrls are the most capable linked infantry, with 'enough BS', 'enough armor', MSV1 (to make them superior in most important cases to BS14 honestly), and a higher than normal resistance to templates and mines... all while packing on each trooper a heavier than usual, all-range loadout. That may be a specialist.

They're hyper-optimized.

Gwailo links of any kind are pretty decent, or even good. But they're not good enough to justify what you lose going into the sectorial.

There are only 4 AVA increases of note in SEF. Having multiple Noctifers and Speculos is good because Noctifers and Speculos are fuck machines, AVA 4 Shrouded is good because you can populate the midfield with many camo markers, and probably most importantly AVA 2 Q Drones is excellent. Mimetic TR bots are the fucking dream.

How is a Wu Ming with HRL for an ARO piece? I figure its sturdy and has some decent range mods.

Also how about the Zhangying with ML? I figure they'd be good vs MSV2 and smoke combos.

I actually like the spitfire Prowler quite a bit but he has a bullshit 2SWC attached to him that pushes him out of lists. Atleast with the Wildcats I can understand the 2SWC HRL costing that because of link team bonus consideration for balance, but Prowler is shafted. But gripes aside, he is kinda your infiltrating Intruder. Instead of MSV2+smoke, you do White Noise versus MSV and spank most folks in FTF rolls thanks to camo, surprise shot, and starting in your guns fun spot.

Now the specialist Prowler is really good toolbox and camo remover. He can glue things he wouldn't have much luck with, but being able to roll for discover on 14WIP and then intuitive attacking with the flamethrower right afterwards leaves you a pretty damn good camo/skirmisher bully. Plus button pushing if you need him to.

The bioimmunity is kinda whatever, handy if he gets dropped by Shock/viral ammo and you happen have a doctor nearby.

He works best in camo shell games as most people expect a Zero with FO/KHD/Mines. The specialist is the clear winner right now, if the Spitfire was priced like other MI guns at 1.5 SWC you would see it brought out much more frequently.

They are both much better in a wu ming link. I'd not hedge my bets on either in vanilla. I think yj's best aro pieces are raidens, hac tao with missile launcher, the tinbot c yan huo, messenger and escort remote. Although Luna seems effective too thanks to her low point cost and limited camo.

Unlinked? Raiden outshines it in Vanilla, doing extra duty with mind games with the minelayer skill for ten points less (admittedly with less wounds), but it balances that out with a single surprise shot that it can do). The difference between Armor 3 and 4 and BS 12 and 13 isn't that much.

the Wu Ming HRL shines more as an active turn piece, where it can make use of getting uncomfortably close and shooting the LSG, it's even better overall in a link for obvious reasons. Not to say it's not unfieldable out of a link and without consideration of other units like the Raiden. It's just that 11 points and .5 SWC can go a long way with your lists.

Zhanying ML is good, obviously amazing in the Hsien Haris if you want a heavy weapons team.

I wouldn't really call them hyper-optimized. They're kind of unfocused all rounders that are underpriced primarily because of frenzy, which is kind of bullshit but probably even more bullshit on stuff like Magister/Hospitaller teams or Haramaki/Domaru. Actually, the only truly great pain train that doesn't rely on impetuous discounts of some kind is grorious Wu Ming.

>Wu Ming
Decent. There are better things though, like Zuyong ML or the Raiden HRL.

>Zhanying
Not good unlinked. Smoke combos still operate on burst 4 vs burst 1, and with no defensive skills and mediocre stats your boy is going down hard most of the time. Almost all lists have an alternative killer that doesn't rely on smoke combos anyway.

>Atleast with the Wildcats I can understand the 2SWC HRL costing that because of link team bonus consideration for balance
Nah it's still total bullshit on Wildcats.

If anyone missed it from last thread, here are the new Zoe and PI-Well models.

I completely agree, but I can at least lie to myself as to why the glorious wildcat waifu gets shat on.

Is high points low order ariadna viable?

Like 10 orders with a 5 link of Wulvers or MM?

>ariadna viable
In every format, yes.

>no defensive skills and mediocre stats
also they're not exactly cheap

Yeah, but even with a Minuteman link you'd struggle to only have 10 orders. 12 or so is easier.

So, I just got into the game with some friends, we split the Box that Had Yu Jing and Haqq, I took Haqq. I also bought a Maghariba because the thing was cool, and ordered Leila Sharif. I also bought a bunch of stuff for Ariadna and was wondering if I made a mistake. I seem to have bought for Ariadna mostly "unique" non-grunt models. I think the Metros are my gruntiest. Should invest in some Grunts or Line Kazaks?

>Zhanying
They're great, just don't expect them to do front line fighting. They're there to scare the fuck out of camo. Madtraps+ Sensor or linking with a Hsien murders Ninjas and Poland.

They're a support piece that enables the rest of your army to do things. The only real orders you should be putting into them are positioning madtraps, popping sensor, and setting up triangulated fire. The last only if nothing else can get a better shot.

wut

they don't look nomadic

ALEPH is gaynigguhs

I was referring specifically to the ML version, that's the one user asked about. They've always been good for sensor, and desu sometimes they're decent in a fight too with that breaker combi. It's one of the nastier weapons you can go into suppressive fire with.

Oh, reading comprehension fail.
I don't mind the ML, its a good way to round out the Haris with a Hsien. It needs a bit more care to leave out in the open, but is pretty ok. Recently took this to a limited insertion thing as a dedicated anti camo list.

zhanying minis when

Yeah, it's okay linked. I wouldn't take it solo though.

Breaker combi is soon, ML is out in the ISS starter.

One is in IS Starter, the other is soon (tm)

Shameless bump, and wanting to see if this list viable.
MwBgjAPqIQggTgSwIYBMB2yAEEwBYBSAJjxAIA5gwCBCYc4gNkIE4iyaiXiBWHi8txpgGJQuVK08/AOxF+JZlMJzCijgqoEZMxgQACeFSWLSZUvXL0kZHbkWD9yIBp2o2KPIUXd5z5HgZ9fSA===

Truth, that is why you do both! ISS is my recent second faction but I have had some decent success with a Zhany haris with a Hsien laying down hurt and an ML as a big fuck off stick. Also I would like comments on this list, I've done some decent work with it, usually making the KHD kanren look like anything else so opponents think a ninja KHD is around because of how common it is. Madtraps arent koalas but offer a neat tactical avenue. Sophotects get so much mileage, usually way more orders than I would expect. Garudas are just goddamn scary and leave a ninja KHD point cost hole, 1.5 SWC difference is tips savvy people off though.

Brother, was merely a joke, this kind of discourse is common outside of Corregidor. Poor Zoe needs an update as much as the metal potato Szally.

Im cutting off the karkatas legs and sticking on unidron legs to bring up its height to real S2.

>Breaker combi is soon

It's actually a hacker, despite what the label would tell you.

has the visor, has the funny tech backpack, and has the arm band.

Jinx!

6.5 SWC, you want the green check next to the ITS logo to be green. the army builder automatically checks for legality.

Try again.

Right, thank you. I've been reading and rereading the rules, haven't memorized much.

To be fair, the only profile the Hacker doesnt visibly share with other Breaker Combis is the one with MadTraps.

Yeah but this time I get to pretend that all those things are sensor-related. Hacker models work fine as rifle profiles.

And if you haven't gotten Xi yet, he's a very very solid 20 points in YJ and IS, also comes with traps.

That's all I need. Between that, ML, Hsien, and Guifang Spec Ops cover all the Zhanying bases pretty solidly.

The real question now is which is the CUTEST: FastPandas, Mad Traps, Hector/Overdron buddybots, Tohaamons?

Honorable consideration for Bunnybots and Kittybots. Koala bots are too smug to compete.

TohaaMon, they're so round a cute with their teeny T-Rex arms. Buddybots are a close second though.

> Swiggity Swooty, I'm coming for that One Woundy

ADDENDUM

Crabbot disqualified for being the defacto spirit animal, CRAB BATTLE resides in us all.

Janissary tinbot is still the best. But from that list I'd say CA tinbots even though I'm still mad that CB packaged the exact same tinbot sculpt into the Suryat box and Overdron box.. They've got a winning smile.

FUCK! I forgot that CUTE buddybot existed!

Thematically Suryats' makes quite a bit of sense though, atleast its not a going to have a guest appearance on the Shining like the Grrl buddybot.

Suryat Tinbot at least has their symbol on his lil shield.

But yea it feels lazy as fuck. Must of the tinbots are kinda whaffles except the ALEPH one. That lil hoplite is OG.

>Look at all that smug

Painting that on my koalas once i make stencils. Across the arm and then on the torso from that angle. Thanks for that line m8

Spotbot and Hector's Tinbot are my favorites

Wulvers are AVA 4, even in CHA. You can fill the link out with Wallace, but that means you're begging to get your obvious lieutenant killed. The biggest issue is that they don't have any burst 4 weapons and only have mediocre BS so you really should be pushing them forward to use that sweet CC 30. They also don't have any specialist options which really hurts in a core link that costs about as much as Joan and the Boys. If I take Wulvers I usually haris them, not only is it less of a commitment points wise, but you can still take that sweet grey+isobel core link with points to spare.

>Atleast with the Wildcats I can understand the 2SWC HRL costing that because of link team bonus consideration for balance
Yeah, but then fucking Muyibs shit all over that with 1 SWC HRL.

Spitfire Prowler is one of the coolest Nomad minis. I'd get him if I switched to Bakunin.

In general it's good to have some basic guys, but in vanilla Ariadna you're limited to two Grunts, as well as only 2 Metros. They provide some cheap orders already though and Grunts you can infiltrate.
I'd get Dozer + Mul Control device and the Traktor Mul box. You can field Traktor Muls as 5pts orders, so with two Metros and maybe a Kazak or Grunt or two you should have enough cheerleaders. Most of Ariadna stuff is so cheap that you're unlikely to run out of orders.

Metros can infiltrate too. Make rather good demolition unita if they pass tje initial roll thanks to d-charges.

I love the fact the devs give a shit about game balance

how many guilang do I need for a yu jing vanila list? And should I be runing monks or Kuang chis for smoke, in vanila. I understant that in ISS Kuangs are better, because they are linked turn 1, but either there also better in vanila ?

I like to put at least 1 Guilang specialist in each list, but 2 also works. 3 can be good as well if one is a minelayer.

Monks and Kuang Shi are both valid options. The Kuang Shi are regular and dogged, but they don't get smoke and must rely on their Celestial Guard controller for it. The Monks have their own smoke so it matters less if one dies, and they can throw it while dodging, but on the other hand they're irregular and impetuous so you must be careful to stop them running in front of a sniper.

Monks can't be taken in ISS at all, so Kuang Shi don't really have any competition there.

>Koala bots are too smug to compete.
And CA tinbots are not?
>Hey. You. Yes, you there, with the MSV. Fuck you in particular.

Aren't Guilang only AVA 2? Do you have access to the White Banner Sectorial Army list builder I don't know about?

Indeed they are. Shit, not sure how that happened. I must have confused them with Shrouded or something.

Noob question time.
What happens when you run a fireteam of Extreme Impetuous? (Morat Daturazi)
Do they each generate a EI order? I assume so, so does that mean that I have to move the whole team five times towards the closest guy?

Thanks.

They lose extremely impetuous while in a fire team.

No. Impetuousness of any kind, including frenzy, is disabled while in a link team.

derp

thanks.

I run nomads at the moment but I also want to run pano. I currently have the LE Joan and I do like the look of military orders but I like ORC's as well.
Help?

Fatpanda. Always the lil chubby fast panda.

Any military order in particular, or just the sectorial in general?

Something with Joan in

"Are you a a, uh, real hyperpower?"
“Well, uh, technically... nah.”
"Have you ever removed nomads, like, uh, a bandit or zero?"
"Nah."
"Have you ever passed a willpower check?"
"Yeah, totally, every time."
"All right, I see that I will have to teach you how to be a hyperpower.
...
Now listen closely:
Here's a little lesson in Infinity
This is going down in history
If you wanna be hyperpower number one
You will have to shoot your enemies with your gun
Just use your TO camo, and sneak around
Be careful not to make a sound"
[intruder passes discover roll]
(shh)
"Not in front of that!"

Get either Santiagos or Hospitaliers and Fersen. Sergeants box is great too and probably some remotes. Depending how many points ypu have left either a Tech-Bee or a Warcor for the irregular order Joan turns into regular.

"Ha ha ha
Now look at this drop bear that I just found
When I say go, be ready to throw
Go!
...
Throw it at them, not me.
...
Ugh, let's try something else."
... [with Military Orders]
"Now watch and learn, here's the deal
We'll slice them with this sword that can cut steel!"
...
"Ha, ha, ha, gasp! What are you doing?"

...
[outro]
Ba-ba-biddly-ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba
We are Number One ...

I want that figure

If you change your diet and stick to a training regimen it's possible. Certainly easier than getting the Cosplay Bolt mini.
