My group only has 3 people that ever play music.
One plays a mix of Muse, Gorillas, Nightwish, Linkin Park, and a lot of techno.
One plays nothing but Alestorm and Machina Supremacy. It's getting old.
Once a month or so I'll play my music. Mostly a mix of power metal, punk, emo/screamo, and a little death metal.
Mostly jazz and big band
I like Alestorm and all. Went to their show recently and it was purely amazing, had a swell time. But they are not the band that I will casually listen. It requires specific situations (mostly involving drinking) to put them as background music.
My friends usually don't put on music when playing. Although last time one of my friend decided to girly pop songs and it fitted in a weird way. Orks and Nurgles clashing on Poppy is strangely well suited.

Yeah, I like Alestorm okay but I'm getting really goddamned tired of them.
If I have music it's usually the soundtracks to the 40k video games.
While statting my army though, I'll listen to stuff that fits the army. Techno for tau, mesoamerican drum beats for lizardmen, etc.

I'll use this if I ever actually play.
>Tau
>techno
>Screamo/deathmetal
jesus christ all the awful taste in this thread this is why you don't play music at games
Mainly soundtracks that fit the theme, turned down. Diablo 3 had a solid soundtrack for this, the Judge Dread soundtrack, that sort of thing.
I figured people would say things like Two Steps from Hell or Audiomachine for some ambience.
At the local Warhammer store, the manager plays nothing but the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, which is fine when you're playing LotR, but gets annoying really fast otherwise.
Mongolian throat singing.
You think it's bad as a customer? imagine working to nothing but that fucking soundtrack.
I seem to remember it being because of legal shit? Someone from head office came in and told us to stop playing normal radio and our own stuff.
Would Dawn of War soundtrack be a good choice?
Yup. Two steps from hell.
Also changes according to the setting. I had a DH game set in a backwoods swamp and had slow, menacing banjo playing in the background.
Usually nothing, but when I use flyers I play Die Walküre. And yes, I play Imperial Guard.
I forgot the pic.
The FLGS plays dad-rock low as background noise.
Pic related, obviously
Retrowave or Italian opera.
Jazz
So good music then?
have you ever heard that this picture was once used as cover on the first edition of starship troopers in some small european country?
Considering Starship Troopers was first released 30 years before that picture was drawn, that seems unlikely.
Sabaton - Killing Ground most of the time
But in general anything metal or epic
No, but did you know that Stallone and Trump were space marines?
I play the Dawn of War Imperial Guard theme on a loop.
I usually play one of two things for ambiance.

If it comes to actual music I play Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Win.
Don't worry, once you get out of highschool you'll find that music gets a lot less cliquey. You stop giving a shit about what everyone else likes and just listen to your own stuff and let them listen to theirs, and nobody complains.
Unless you're a sperg.
You're not a sperg, are you?
...
I'm here to second bolt thrower.
Patch is an early 90s bootleg. One of my favourites
>they will never update scorps, banshees and spiders
I play Blood Angels so basically Likin Park discography
My brother plays Tau so Macross, Gundam and Evangelion OST

Or pretty much anything from Manowar or similar power metal works I guess.
>swiping stuff from the custodes
How did they ever manage to do that and get away with it.
