Kitsunes in RPGs

What are the best ways to roleplay a Kitsune in a RPG? Do any of you have experiences with Kitsunes, and general pointers? What are the best systems and settings for playing or encountering Kitsunes?

Go to /pfg/ they will massage your balls about kitsune all day every day.

Sad how it has come to this: PFG is just a weaboo masturbation thread these days.

First. Do not be the image above. Do not. Kitsunes are unnatural, and shapeshifting is viewed as being highly suspicious-something most societies would kill on sight. You are afraid, and it is amazing you even wandered out of whatever forest you came from. Or maybe you were abandoned, and got picked up by a more caring women but still had to adapt. You have to hide, and keep your identity a secret. Few know who you are-especially in the case of your party. Proper roleplay would have you set this is up as a secret beforehand with the DM, making it a real surprise for players who have no chance to metagame (unless they get ahold of notes, but at that point they're gonna be focused on the lich two feet behind them). Seriously, you're not some lust thing. You're an unusual being, one which has to survive.

>Proper roleplay would have you set this is up as a secret beforehand with the DM, making it a real surprise for players who have no chance to metagame
That doesn't sound like a bad idea. I had a GM who did this in an Eberron campaign, with one of the PCs being a changeling all along. I will have to try that.

Also continuing your questions, practically any system works. Most people will immediately screech "PETHFENDER FOR THE FAGGOT", and there is a small droplet of truth. Pathfinder has a full race for Kitsune, and is unusually prepared for it. However, Pathfinder is starting to fall a bit more each day, and you'll find that it may be slightly overwhelming (and for god's sake, don't do Society. Normal Pathfinder is ok, and has a lot to offer. Society just chokes off all the fun and leaves you staring at players who mainly want you to minmax). Technically, any system works well thanks to fan content. D&D actually handles fan content amazingly well, and if your DM is willing to take in fan content, then D&D would go well.
Just please, please, do not do what so many have fallen into doing and play what is no better than a prostitute.
Here's a link to D&D fan content if you so desire.

Erm......any questions?
OP?
You dead or something?

Ignore all advice you receive here, everyone here is all traumatized by, well, pretty much everything.

I'm making a more modern-fantasy rp and I'm wondering what would be some good lore for making a Kitsune group?
WoD for those curious, and I've got a lot to choose from.

Oi.
That's my advice. It's legitimate. And yeah, there's bits on don't be what people expect (sex monster). But that's legitimate.

Wouldn't it be hard to play a Kitsune in Pathfinder?
Most of the game's fleshed out continents are essentially fantasy-Europe and fantasy-Africa. Very little to stuff for the Dragon Empires, making it hard to find a game ran in that area?

I imagine that you can shoehorn them in as you would any other character who has an exotic background. Same with D&D and many other RPGs I reckon.

Yes, but in general Pathfinder rarely cares about physical location. You'll see Eastern dragons fly around in the center of the world, due to how most DMs operate the world. Now a hard, knuckles-cracking DM could absolutely make it accurate. But even then, somebody always makes it across the ocean. And that is now you. D&D has an easier time, as it is a fairly mono-land that has massive interaction with everything. But at that point, we head into edition, system, and lore wars, which is not quite what the OP wants. Who seems to be gone by the way.

Like you would pretty much any other fey creature, but even scarier.

Play them in campaigns that are obviously weeb in tone.
Don't show up with one in a cut and dry D&D type game.

Keep eastern shit in eastern games.

Does that ever get... I dunno annoying to some people?
Having a bunch of monsters from all over in theme and culture.

I want to play a cleric of Tamamo no Mae but I'm not sure exactly what her doctrine would be like. What exactly would a cleric in that position be required to do?

To some, yes. To others, no.
To me, I adapt to the DM. If they seem more relaxed, over-the-top, and not worried about accuracy, I adjust and fill the campaign with shenanigans everyone laughs at. If the DM is a legit more accurate guy who expects realism mixed the possibilities of fantasy, I also adjust with high levels of knowledge for the midevil era. I personally prefer the more grounded DM, but in the end it is nothing more than personal preference. Whatever brings fun to the group is what should be used.
Wikipedia. Just base Wikipedia. I am not even joking, it should provide all dogma and tenets.

Like so.

Isn't she stuck in a rock?

I respectfully disagree.

Just take the tenants of any of the Chaotic Evil gods.

Tamamo's shtick is that she fucked her way across Asia, corrupting kings and emperors and getting them to do evil shit for laughs. Eventually she'd be caught be a monk and then she moved to the next country.

You need to be a good wife and wise mother!

>'what the fuck did you just describe'
>you said you wanted a kitsune, here you go
>'that's a weird fox demon'
>which is exactly what you asked for

NEUTRAL
EVIL

>Implying fate/ alignments mean anything

Tamamo was a Neutral Evil bitch even before Fate, and I can guaran-fucking-tee her cute honeybuns attitude is just to endear herself as the Ultimate Wife.

PORN THREAD DETECTED
REQUESTING OP INTERVENTION
COLLAPSE IMMINENT
ALL MEN TO ARMS

What's wrong with wanting to be the ultimate wife?

...

It's an act! It's all a fucking act! Tamamo-no-Mae is a vicious bitch-fox that tries to be the Ultimate Wife because she's incapable of actually being Human.

She plays at wifehood, it's a game to her, and the Ultimate Wife is a role she wants to perfect.

Which isn't an issue to me - ignorance is bliss after all, but it still means she's evil.

That's wrong though, she loves anyone she's devoted to.

It's fox-love, not real love!

Fox love is just as real as our love!

It's not even proper fox-love, it's 1/9th of a fox-love!

>What are the best ways to roleplay a Kitsune in a RPG?
By not doing it

>Do any of you have experiences with Kitsunes, and general pointers?
Don't do it.

>What are the best systems and settings for playing or encountering Kitsunes?
FATAL

She can have my kids so its A-O-K by me.

How many kids do you think Caster's had over the years?

>5E Kitsunes
Thanks for the heads up OP. Time to try brewing some characters.

>grab neck

idk if that's proper handling sempai

Would fox boys be more up your alley then?

Girls are kinda into that, user.

yeah, maybe real girls that have proper necks reinforced with actual muscles and tendons, but not frail anime necks

It's okay, because what they lack in neck durability they make up for in their ability to accommodate even the largest dicks without a hint of foreplay.

Dont forget the cartoon physics allowing their bodies to morph and bulge without major internal organ damage.

You forgot the time-honored genetic quirk that is both celebrated by ERPers and Anime alike; the cervix is not only a pleasure-spot begging to get humped by your oversized cock, but it's in fact a second hole you can enter if you just try hard enough!

so, kinda related question: If any, how did you do Kitsune in your setting?

I made the common ones as mischievous magical forest midgets that hide their fluffy exterior beneath masks and robes

>If any, how did you do Kitsune in your setting?
More or less how you did it, as lovable scoundrels who fuck around with people journeying through their forests, occasionally helping or hindering their travels and on very rare occasions bedding one.

assholes who live in the woods that see human civilization as a place to get drunk on the weekends

Use them as powerful spiritual creatures as per original myths rather than as a race for character options. More tails means more power, with a full 9-Tail under Inari being roughly equivalent to a Dragon through their magick, but much craftier. They're fey entities and should force the players to rely on convention and manners to properly interact with them gainfully. They're the haughty noblewomen and sly fae and can make a good patron for a adventuring party...or even a campaign villain through betrayal. They won't lie, but they'll twist words and force you to stick to your manipulated words unless you've some very powerful backers.

>5e kitsunes

Why not play an arcanalothic tiefling? They can even have charm powers.

Some arcanaloths, like Shemeshka of Planescape fame, are foxes.

The one on the right is adorable.

It's a very cute boy

You know... I was originally going to ask if this thread could give me a hand with homebrewing a 5e kisune, but now I'm curious: how would you stat up an arcanalothic/ravaastan tiefling in 5e?

There are, after all, canon rules for doing tieflings as a subrace, even if the Abyssal Tiefling variant... isn't so good.

She's got noticeable breasts and a girlish figure, she's a girl!

Folds in the shirt, boys often look like girls.

Aren't a lot of people upset about these guys being White and wanted the more liver-eating/curse-giving Black kitsune though?

Why would a boy be wearing a skirt?

They're comfy and he wants to show off his legs

Adorable? Her? Please. She's just a department store manager riding my coattails. If you knew her like I do you'd know she's a creep. Keep your boys locked up around that one.

>magick
>fae

Hey Edna

>You are afraid, and it is amazing you even wandered out of whatever forest you came from.
You're a goddamn trickster spirit. "Afraid" is definitely not the proper emotion here.

Kind of dickish opportunists who are usually up to mischief but will nevertheless honour their word if you manage to bargain with one. Not really malicious, but hardly the kind you want as your neighbours, either.

At least you can talk. Who are you?

Being a 300lb greasy neckbeard talking about wanting to have sex with the other guys at the table.

Sauce?

Take at look at the Sword Coast stuff.

Feral Tiefling is great for a bard (which I assume a seductress would be), and you can swap out Infernal Legacy for Devil's Tongue.

"TIEFLING VARIANTS Since not all tieflings are of the blood of Asmodeus, some have traits that differ from those in the Player's Handbook. The Dungeon Master may permit the following variants for your tiefling character, although Devil's Tongue, Hellfire, and Winged are mutually exclusive.

Appearance. Your tiefling might not look like other tieflings. Rather than having the physical characteristics described in the Player's Handbook, choose l d4 + l of the following features: small horns; fangs or sharp teeth; a forked tongue; catlike eyes; six fingers on each hand; goat-like legs; cloven hoofs; a forked tail; leathery or scaly skin; red or dark blue skin; cast no shadow or reflection; exude a smell of brimstone.

Feral. Your Intelligence score increases by l , and your Dexterity score increases by 2. This trait replaces the Ability Score Increase trait.

Devil's Tongue. You know the vicious mockery cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the charm person spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the enthrall spell once with this trait. You must finish a long rest to cast these spells once again with this trait. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for them. This trait replaces the Infernal Legacy trait.

Hellfire. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the burn-ing hands spell once per day as a 2nd-level spell. This trait replaces the hellish rebuke spell of the Infernal Legacy trait.

Winged. You have bat-like wings sprouting from your shoulder blades. You have a flying speed of 30 feet. This trait replaces the Infernal Legacy trait. "

I played a Kitsune mage/archer once. Of course, she was the most intelligent and clever of the bunch of idiots, so she barely took her time to speak with them because having to suffer their human nonsense would add penalties to her IQ.

how do you prefer your foxy girls on the corporeal-spiritual scale?

I'll agree that magick is just stupid. But isn't fae correct?

>Isn't she stuck in a rock?
Nah, she repented and reached nirvana.

/pfg/ is getting better.

How so? Allow me to be a little skeptical.
