Post ideas for a campaign. Can be as detailed as you want, funny or serious. I'll kick us off with a few!

An adventuring party seeking gold, fortune, and ale has been causing havoc in the whole country, destroying ancient temples and pillaging. The crown has assembled the PCs to stop them!

Pagehood/squireship shonen-esque campaign about kids striving to become knights in a fantasy setting.

An unknown assassin is shooting the mask of the gorgons who have integrated to the city, causing them to petrify those around them before they die from the injury. You and the rest of the stock magitech city have to find the city before racial tensions cause people to expel the gorgons while the gorgons feel the need to fight back.

Mysterious elves claiming to be from the heavens, arrive, and start demanding tribute, violent suppressing any resistance from the humans, with weapons and magic never seen before.

A group of adventurers saves the party from certain death, only to die themselves. Upon inspection the dead adventurers appear to be the members of the party with opposite genders.

Players are citizens of an island nation that has been struck repeatedly with tsunamis and other natural disasters after years of peaceful waters, ruining their livelihood and economy.

Our heroes must find a way to appease the gods and calm the seas, or escape their doomed fate on the starving island.

Players are sent on a mission to discover the source of a plague that is making its way to the capital

Kobolds wage a vicious guerrilla war against humans after adventurers working on behalf of the human kingdom slay one of their dragon lords

The party is confronted in a dark room, by a mysterious voice. The voice claims to Born, a being from a higher plane of existence, and the voice is demanding the party bring it blood sacrifices annually. Refusal results in a natural disaster occurring monthly in what ever location the party is in. The disasters fall the party were ever they go.

One or more of the players owes a large debt in a distant city/province/land. Go over there and pay it off.

Two great empire fight a war with no end. The party are drafted into one of many fronts far from home.The are one of many squads in a hostile jungle. Their job is to help seize a roadway for supplies to the front line.

The kobolds that call it home have been raging a guerilla war for years. It is no easy task to defate them. Though they are weak, despite years of constant alchemical herbicide and fireballing of the forest, they will not yeild. Countless soldiers have died to their pitfall traps and overwhelming ambushes.

An alt-reality game where the players play themselves. They have their own jobs, player friends, homes.
The building, street, city, and world around them is all more or less the same, maps are googled maps of commonly known locations.
Except it's urban fantasy for all the little details just out of "observable" truth.
Your boss is a really a Werechameleon. There's a dragon in the neighbor's garage. The Late Night bus is a trap run by an underworld ferryman that got fired. Jake's grandpa is a wizard. The old couch you used to play on was a mimic that loved eating your coins, it's trying to get back to your house. Reality TV really does melt your brain.

Players are all vagabonds granted powers by the Muses of Jazz, Soul, and Rock&Roll to exorcise demons in not!1920-1950s Americana.

Players are gun-slinging samurai in an Akira Kurosawa spaghetti Western.

Players are mech pilots for a private military company in the distant future. They're dropped from orbit onto a rebellious colony and must bring order by any means.

The PCs begin their criminal careers doing a favor for an establish prostitute turned Madame in a city with demon dealing and wheeling mobsters and demon worshipping gangsters getting into a gang war.

A bunch of random fucksticks (the party) died and ended up in Carceri, which is a prison plane made of subworlds that work like Sliders. It makes sense for the bastards of the party, but why's the paladin here? Jailbreak and figure it out.

The sky has fallen, revealing itself to be composed of color changing goo monsters that are now goddamn everywhere. The other problem? They were keeping something worse out.

A wizard has gathered the world's mightiest heroes to save the timeline, but they died, so he grabbed the party instead. Whenever you die, he pulls an alternate timestream clone of you to the main timeline as a replacement.

The world was flat until Atlantis got so powerful and envious of heaven and their immortality that they sailed to the edge of the world and waged war upon the shores of heaven itself. Whereupon God stepped down from his throne, flipped over the isle of Atlantis and all its inhabitants, then took hold the edges of the firmament and bent it round so that we would sail in endless circles for ever more.

An ark ship carrying the last remnets of humanity crash lands on a planet. All of the pods containing the human embryos are destroyed leaving only the synthetic care-takers who have since created their own culture based on the human cultures in their database

The players are various dissidents in Not!1930's diesel-punk Spain trying to overthrow the tyrannical king. Various other powers, like the fascists, communists, and good old fashioned empires are all hoping to make it a satellite state, sending money and guns, or even men in some cases, to whatever cause they want to support. The choice is up to the players if they want to ally with any of these powers or fight the world and go for an independent Not!Spain under whatever system they want, or even fail and watch the nation they fought so hard to fix crumble even further or even become the staging ground for a world war.

why doesnt the wizwaz just get alternate timestream clones of the competent people?

to search for the power in order to fulfill their own goals, the party fights itself through the levels of the TOWER, with no end to its altitude is in sight.
along the way, not only they are being tested, but the inventiveness of humanity as a whole (if you count anything humanoid as human).

leave the structure whenever you want and take your rewards with you, but be aware that the tower will then be forever locked to you.

A local steel factory (think early industrial revolution level technology) has been laying off workers. The carts hauling coal from dwarven mines have all but stopped... but the factory is as busy as ever! The chimneys are alight with sparks as smoke pours out, day and night. The new metal it produces is copper hued and warm to the touch...

The factory owner managed to open a portal to the fire plane, and trapped a powerful elemental deep within the factory to power the furnace... but once you open a gateway, you might find that things might want to come from the other side.

Villages of magic users, lead by warlocks compete for the favor of demons, by committing heinous acts to kidnapped pilgrims. All sides use anti-magic grenades, so a gnome workshop has agreed to develop non-magic weapons to combat them (sweet guns, flamethrowers, dirt bikes, tanks.)

A rich aristocrat/lawman hires an adventuring party to take out key villains and threats to the realm and bring them back to his manor to be turned into harmless maids so that they may be reformed and turned into productive members of society. The adventuring group have their first pick of maids if they so choose. They may be turned into maids themselves if they act too chaotic stupid.
