I've been thinking: in a 1v1 fight, there a more OP weapon combination than mace + dagger?

I've been thinking: in a 1v1 fight, there a more OP weapon combination than mace + dagger?
>can deflect and parry
>can stab and slash
>can smash armor

pic unrelated

Both weapons are shit for parrying.

Mace and dagger are weaksauce. Rapier's a way better 1v1 weapon due to fencing parries and being able to go for the eyes/armor chinks up to two yards away. That outreaches any one-handed mace or dagger. Not to mention that fencing parry means you're able to riposte to impart massive defense penalties.

well, what i was thinking is that you would lock the opponents weapon between a dagger's v-shaped crossguard and hit their head with the mace. thanks for the replies anyway.

Have a morning star and a shield. One can actually protect you, the other can smash and slash.

Automatic shotgun and ballistic shield

The most OP weapon combination would be a high-powered laser rifle and a plasma shield.

>Can block both mass drivers and energetic attacks
>Can attack others with your own energetic attacks
>When in doubt, can lash out with plasma shield for a heavy kinetic blow

Ok look, there's pic unrelated.
Then there's goddamn pic unrelated.

I've been thinking: in a 1v1 fight there a more OP weapon combination than save or suck + dagger
>can remove actions
>can stab after removing actions
>can cut ropes and whittle

You're all stupid, the most OP weapon combo is a whip in one hand and a parrying dagger in the other.
Whip gives range and is perfect against unarmoured targets, dagger can defend you up close and go through chinks in the armour.

>Whip not meant for combat
>dagger can be stolen from you if you're not good with it, and now it can be used against you

still can't beat bladed caestus + spiked buckler

A scythe isn't meant for combat either but you'll still die if you get hit with one in the right spot.

Spear and shield is the best dueling strategy.

>Range of the spear.
>Shield bash up close.
>Overhand or underhand grip depending on circumstance.
>Slash or stab with spear head.
>Can throw spear if you have to.

Works better with a back up sword, but spear is still better.

like a defender?

That thing looks Slaaneshi as fuck.

The same argument can be made for a pencil. If something is not designed for combat, it will be far less effective than something that is. Anything can kill.
The question is, how quickly and efficiently without harm to the user can it do so?

Yeah a gun.

and whats the opponents other hand doing while youre doing all this?

Play less videogames, and objectively history shows the most op weapons combination is some form of spear and shield.

Real life isn't dark souls, you can't just "parry" someone swinging a big ass weapon at you with a knife.

The most consistently effective pre-gunpowder weaponry, as demonstrated by millennia of warfare across the entire world, is the shield and polearm. Ideally something with both a parallel blade and a point, such as a halbard, but even the simple spear is extremely effective

M80s the great duelists of yore have actually written of this and the consensus was that the pollaxe is the best weapon for single combat. The sword became the duelist's weapon of choice because you can't lug a pollaxe around with you in your day to day life.

Exactly, a whip has range, keeping enemies out of their effective combat range with the threat of a lash is perfect.
Add an actual blade to the end of a whip and you can really carve them open, especially since a normal leather tip on a whip is enough to break skin.
As for anyone that does get through your area of whipping pain, stab them with the dagger.

If you're using the dagger defensively, first off you'd be better with a targe or a spiked buckler since daggers aren't good defensively. Failing that, you'd do better with a sword breaker or parrying dagger. Thirdly, a more OP weapon combination is a single handgun.

Life doesnt work like an anime.

The true best weapon combo is a mountain of random stuff that inexplicably gives you bonuses in combat.

never to return

>implying directing an eight pound weapon at most away from you with a small but sturdy dagger is hard

You're right, real life isn't Dark Souls, people didn't use 400 pound pillars as weapons

The most OP weapon is a club.
>Can smash
>Can block smashes
Literally everything you ever need.

The most effective weapon is a longsword held in both hands.

>But muh sh-
Longsword. Both hands.

Longsword + shield. You can cut, you can stab, you can bash and you enjoy defence.

High powered automatic nuclear rifle and an anti-nuclear plasma shield

Shields basically blow every weapon in the world besides guns out of the water.
Therefore, use two shields.

Saitama gun and Saitama shield.

Ive found that longsword and axe are the perfect counter to the longsword dominated scene of HMB/HEMA and work quite well against most things except spear to a degree
