Sorta, but not really. Anything sentient is going to be malevolent or incomprehensible. The basis of the setting is Technology was amazing and incredibly powerful, then Eldritch Horrors invaded.

I posted a thread a while back about it, but here's the pasta:

After the Eldritch Cataclysm Tyrant Horrors rise out of the abyss and sow madness across the land. Humanity is divided into factions of power struggling to survive while these horrors play games with them like a bunch of children who've found an ant hive. They are unknowable and unseen, but their presence is felt everywhere. Besides that, other terrors have risen across the land: monsters and colossal reality-warping behemoths that mindlessly ravage the land.

Humans have survived by harvesting the destruction of these behemoths as magic. The remains of their destruction leave the land warped and tainted, and resources harvested from these areas can be used to create magic and magic users alike. Wars are fought over these areas. The behemoths are thus the driving force behind change in the world. Kingdoms rise and fall by their hand.

Additionally, Pre-cataclysm tech is quite rare and powerful. Nations may form around these relics.

TLDR: Eldritch Apocalypse where civilization has been blasted back to the gothic horror stone age, behemoths roam the land warping reality and causing magic, Nations struggle for survival by hoarding magic and ancient tech.

Going for more Nobledark rather than straight grim. Humans survive by being tactical and clever, and some have even managed to destroy the Behemoths, but one wrong move and it turns into a bloodbath.

Alright folks, I'm just about ready to post the ad. Note that what I'm going for here isn't so much to troll fetlifers as it is to run a successful campaign by mine and relatively, Veeky Forums's standard, while also avoiding the surprise buttsecks.

I actually try and stay away from straight up tentacles stuff in Lovecraftian art. The Cosmic and the Unknown has always been the focus of the genre, never tentacles and sea-stuff.

And Done. Personally, I've always liked the Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath best. It's something of the basis for inspiration for the setting. You're pretty much fucked against gods, and you're all but useless against giant lumbering behemoths that tear reality around them with their presence... but being able to do something against the weaker foes, now that's what I like.

I don't know outside of the US, but yeah, it actually works. You have to attend munches in order to attend parties, where you'll actually meet people, oh, and every city has a local classifieds group(which is where I posted my ad), which has 5 guys posting for every 1 woman, but the thing is... The women are actually real, not Craigsbots.

However, it usually works best in conjunction with other dating apps. OkCupid if you want to get laid, Tinder if you want weird stories and awkward dates, POF if you want a relationship, and Blendr/Badoo if you want to meet locals that are actually local.

In the interest of keeping this thread alive, I did say rolling for stats, but which method should I use?

For those unfamiliar with Mythras' way of doing things, stat floors, ceilings, and rolls are specific to each race, and rather than being out of 20, as in D&D, it's out of 100.

However, stat rolls are the same as D&D, with an exception:

STR, CON, DEX, and POW are standard 3d6

SIZ and INT are 2d6+6, representing a minimum body size for humans and sentient intelligence.
