「Flogging Molly」

>Appearance:
「Flogging Molly」 is a humanoid stand with a female shape. It has no features on its face aside from one large pair of lips and has a large eye with thick lashes on the back of its hand. Its body is a pale, almost white shade of green, and has brown dreadlock like hair that extends to the bottom of its feat.

>Stats:
Destructive Power: A
Speed: C
Range: E
Durability: C
Precision: D
Developmental Potential: A

>Abilities:
「Flogging Molly」 can transform any object it touches into a weapon that its user can wield. There is no scope to what weapon can be produced, however it must be roughly equal to the size of the original object. Weapons created by 「Flogging Molly」 can harm other stands.

「Blink 182」

>Appearance:
「Blink 182」 is a humanoid stand with a greyhound motif to it. on the back of each of its head is a dog skull. 「Blink 182」 has tannish fur covering its body. It has no ears and has a large afro-like hairstyle. 「Blink 182」 has multiple knees and multiple elbows and is very slender in build.

>Stats:
Destructive Power: B
Speed: A
Range: C
Durability: B
Precision: D
Developmental Potential: B

>Abilites:
「Blink 182」 can produce copys of any moving object before it begins to move. For example, before its user fires a bullet from a gun, the bullet can appear a distance after the point of which the trigger has been pulled. The process repeats with the image of the bullet being slightly closer to the barrel of the gun, and so on until the user fires the bullet. The image generation can also apply to any person. If the user makes images of himself, then the user can travel to any created image at will.

I'm actually running a session for a jojo campaign, here's what I'm throwing at my players today:

「Bossa Nova 」

Power: E
Speed: C
Precision: B
Range: A
Durability: C
Learning: B

「Bossa Nova 」 has the power to make anime real. Anyone touched by the stand gets large anime eyes and a superpower based on whatever their favorite anime is. This ability is not controlled by the user, so ANYONE who touches「Bossa Nova 」gets anime powers, be it friend or foe.

Other Systems

>Mutants & Masterminds
>Marvel Heroic
>FATE (Hack in this post)
>Savage Worlds
>Monsters and Other Childish Things
>Don't Rest Your Head
>Shadowrun (Adept or Mystic Adept with a Geas of POSING)

Thread Question: What makes a good villain?

Oh hey, always nice to see this thread.

Stand idea I've been tossing around in my head for a while.

「Ballast」(「Nothing More」 and 「This Is The Time」 also work)

The user of 「Ballast」 is a submarine engineer who's stand manifested while he was aboard a submarine. The manifestation mostly ruined the submarine.

「Ballast」 itself is...well, currently the submarine. After it's appearance nearly destroyed it and killed it's owner, it merged with the submarine to save his life. 「Ballast」 is currently at the bottom of the harbor, only coming up to retrieve food, water, and fresh air for it's user.

「Ballast」 is an independent stand with a VERY possessive personality. It keeps it's user trapped within itself in a twisted attempt to keep him safe and alive, with little regard for any other wants and needs he has beyond that. He has attempted to escape and call for help, being thwarted by 「Ballast」 every time.

It's perfectly aware of damage to stands being transferred to the user, and vice versa, and keeps him alive partly because it values it's own life as well, although if it believes it's user is in a situation where it'll escape from it, it's more than willing to tear it's own hull open and drown him just to kill him (and itself) out of spite.

It's about as durable as you would expect from a modern submarine, and has the same offensive capabilities as one, being able to produce it's own missiles out of nowhere to fire at anything it identifies as a potential threat.

Bump.

How's campaigns goin', brothers?

Just started one, and it's not nearly as much of a train wreck as I'd thought it'd be.

Guy who posted here, just got done running the session. Everyone had fun, shenanigans were had, overall success.

Currently creating were-monsters.
Debating if they're strong enough or should they be able to get stands.

Actually I think I'll ask here: should weremonsters get stands?
I've got two types of were-people; your average person who can shapeshift into one chosen animal. (like in example, a bird) They can either be a bird or a human.
(Might let them borrow small aspects of their animal, using the example before this bird-man could borrow their bird's eye-sight, or grow wicked talons.)

The Alphas as I've been calling them are a far more powerful shapeshifter, and more like standard werewolves in that they've got a third form.
Using the example from before the shapeshifter can either be a bird, a man, Or a monstrous combination of man, bird and metal. These third forms often have weird/unusual powers.

Should these guys get stands as well?

My suggestion would be to mostly have the shapeshifters be standless. They seem bring a new set of weirdness to the table and also giving them all stands might overshadow that somewhat. And then you could give a few of the higher level shapeshifters stand powers to throw the players off guard

I was thinking of giving stands to the "weaker" of the were-monsters.
Right like they've been here for a long time and integrated into human society, a bit too much in that they're now able to create Stands.
And a Stand can be anything, even make a puny runt strong enough to take on an Alpha and win.

Fuck off Gibus

Use that to have factions between the weremonsters. Purists who hate stands, and ones that see stands as a necessity.

There was a thread a while back with a pdf of a guide for making stands. I didn't get to read it, but it looked promising. Anyone have it? The first page had Hideo Kojima and his stand the schick hydro robot.

...

Thanks

????

I needed a Speedwagon style NPC for my campaign, but I needed him to have a why to stick around, while being able to see stands, without having much he can add to encounters. I think I came up with a good solution.
「Point of know Return」 has the power to add any event, assuming it is theoretically possible, to the timeline at some point int the future. Once it does so the past will automatically adjust to have these these events come about naturally. It must carry these events there itself, and when used, will disappear until the point in time that it targets. After using it's power to get rich, but then nearly dying to a sneak attack to the back, he decided to play it safe and go for the easy life by sending his stand far into the future, adding himself dying happily in his sleep to the night of his 115th birthday. Now fate automatically adjusts the timeline to prevent him from ever dying until that day.

I imagine a lot of Alpha's would be unwilling to accept Stand users.

>S-ranks
Nope. Fucking dropped.

Too fucking powerful, dude. Just give him some Hermit Purple shit. Easy modo

The guy doesn't get his stand until the planned event happens. I think you could have some fun with this guy. A decoy to throw into a room of baddies.

Kind of have to agree with , he could just make it so the villain is fated to be defeated by the protagonists. BAM! All tension gone, because now they can't lose.

He doesn't get his stand back until the day he dies. Right now he can just see stands and not die.
He also tries not to push his luck as the things that let him live aren't always pleasant. The one time he temped fate and put himself right in the direct path of a criminal's gun, he was "saved" by a sudden tornado.

Just rework the range to remove S's

Is this meant to be it's own rules-light system or do you add in on top of another system?

I think it's supposed to be its own system, but its still good as a way to just make stands.

Been working on the stands for the BBEGs of my upcoming jojo campaign. They're four Native Americans in the old west who obtained the first arrowhead created and now they're trying to build an army of stand users to take over America.
They're meant to be the first stand users is history, so I'm trying to play up that fact by going back to the arcana naming motif, giving them each a minor arcana, while still sticking to the music theme. So far I have:
「The Sword」
Power: A
Speed: A
Precision: A
Range: C
Durability: C
Learning: C
The most dangerous of the four. It wields a sword that will cut through anything except another blade, and likewise, it, as well as it's user, can only be harmed by a blade in the hands of a warrior.

「Chalice in Chains」
Power: D
Speed: C
Precision: B
Range: C
Durability: C
Learning: B
The glue of their organization. Water pours from the large cup on it's head and travels down riverbeds on it's arms. Anyone who ingests this water becomes under the mental control of the user, following any commands they are given.

「Wands」
Power: D
Speed: C
Precision: A
Range: C
Durability: C
Learning: A
It has the power to create, manifesting matter from nothing. The user can use this to make anything as long as they understand how to construct that thing. While capable of creating organic matter it cannot bestow it with life.

I haven't worked out the fourth one yet, mostly because I can't think of a song/band/album with coins or pentacles in the name.

...

Pennywise.

「White Death」
Destructive Power: B
Speed: C
Endurance/Staying: E
Range: A
Precision: A
Developmental Potential: E

Mechanism: A Ranged Stand that acts as a sniper which covers for its user. Instead of shooting bullets into its targets「White Death」sucks small chunks from its targets with laser-like precision.

「White Death」can shoot any target that its User can perceive. However, if a target is not within a direct shot it must "bounce" its shots which will remove additional material and potentially reduce damage.

「White Death」can enter a dormant state that allows it to use all collected material to form a new User. The new User retains the memories of the last body and can carry on existing within the physical limits of the material it is made of.

Named after the song, "White Death" by Sabaton.
Whaddaya think?

Eh I kind of like the idea but I think the stands could use some work.
They all sound a little bit simple... Maybe go a little bit wilder in terms of abilities.

Penny Lane.

The simplest are the strongest. That's why they're the BBEGs. They've got a who organization of weaker users with more complicated powers. Though Pentacle's ability will probably be a bit more complex.
I'm playing with the idea that he can buy and trade anything, even years of your life. That'd allow for the four of them to have been around for a long time.

Trying for a name with the word "coins" or "pentacles" in it, to match the other 3.

Quick Veeky Forums break this stand and come up with a user for it!
「Golden Age」
Temporarily maximises the efficiency of anything it touches!
Hard mode: Non-humanoid stand (e.g., could take the form of stickers, or something like Kiss)

Stick it on Ice-9 to maximize how quickly it turns water into ice.

>stick it on a spider, make it the ultimate predator.
>stick it on yourself to become Captain America
>Stick it on another stand.

>Stick it on another stand.
The other stand reaches it's max level (according to developmental potential), excluding evolutions such as Acts, Requiems and attaining Heaven.
e.g., SP: The World attains top time stop (~10s)

The user is a female cow, but she receives no benefit from owning it, aside from living a good life.
Anyone who drinks the milk from this cow can receive the benefits of [Golden Age], making breakfast the most important meal of the day.

Reminds me of a stand I made.

Power: D
Speed: B
Range: B
Durability: C
Precision: B
Learning: D

「Wonderwall」is a pure white, featureless humanoid that's filled with holes. It wears a striped helmet similar to a full motorcycle helmet, and matching striped gauntlets. When it uses it's power, the white part of it enters whatever it's possessing, leaving the helmet and gauntlets floating around it, changing to a relative size based on the target, or if the target is also humanoid, they attach to it as if it were wearing them.
It has the ability to enhance the 「function」of anything it possess, whatever that 「function」 may be. Cars go faster, blades cut sharper, etc. If it possesses an object it can be controlled by the user as if it were their stand, but 「Wonderwall」 can also posses people and even other stands.
The 「function」 of a stand is it's main ability, while the 「function」 of a human is the main thing they do in life, and is not necessarily up to them.

>The World attains top time stop (~10s)
DIO himself said that 10 seconds wasn't his upper limit. Hell, I think during his fight with Jotaro he speculated on eventually being able to reach an hour or more given enough time to develop that far.

Reminds me of a stand I made, but far more powerful.

Didn't he hit 12 during the ROAD ROLLAH scene? or am I mis-remembering something?

but Star Platinum The World has a much lower potential because he isn't a vampire.

>「Wu Tang Clan」
Stats: Power [C] / Speed [B] / Range [D] / Durability [B] / Precision [C] / Potential [E]

> Appearance
- visually it is heavily inspired by Gold Experience -
「Wu Tang Clan」manifests as a humanoid Stand with a slender build with its overall design based on samurai armor and bees.「Wu Tang Clan」wears a kabuto-like helmet with a “W” shaped crest, the maedate; the dome of the helmet is tall with dark ridges giving it the appearance of a beehive while the shikoro (the nape guard of the helmet) has a hexagonal honeycomb pattern. The sole facial feature that this Stand are its hexagonal eyes which are similar to an insect's compound eyes.
The sleeves with hand guards and greaves (the kote, tekko, and suneate respectively) with the honeycomb pattern on them.「Wu Tang Clan」also has stylized insect wings mounted on its shoulders and small killer bee pendants with two on its chest and a three spread across its waist, forming a belt.「Wu Tang Clan」 has small barbed stingers protruding from its knuckles that stick into the enemy, regrowing after a few seconds.

> Ability
「Wu Tang Clan」is an effective combat Stand, using its speed and the stingers on its knuckles to attack its enemies. The venom on the Stand's stingers will cause severe pain as well as swelling, thought that only occurs when the Stand strikes a living thing.「Wu Tang Clan」produces honey that has minor healing properties and can boost the immune system against Stand abilities.

36 Chambers: The primary ability of「Wu Tang Clan」revolves around the creation of pocket universes within existing structures. The pocket universes created by this ability take the form of a small room that resembles a martial arts dojo. As soon as the door is shut it disappears from the wall but its possible for an enemy Stand to prevent the door from closing via a Stand ability or through brute strength.

Looking at a casino heist with Stand powers geared towards stealth, disguise, or any utility that could aid in the break in or escape.

Set in 1999 in a Moroccan casino, all the main Stand Users are petty criminals who through fate ended up in the same prison transfer bus year prior when they crossed paths with some event (i.e. Devil's Palm, Meteors, etc.) that granted them with Stands.

The casino is owned by one of the Twelve and has recruited a few of the Stand Users to act as security for his casino. Already have a few Stands set up for this, pretty happy with those.

Trying to think up a campaign title that include "Millennium" something very JoJo.

「Sound of da Police」
Power: C
Speed: B
Range: B
Durability: C
Precision: B

A mechanical humanoid stand wearing a police shirt, tie, and hat. The stand has a sub-woofer where its eyes would be.
「Sound of da Police」's ability is to manipulate how sound interacts with anything it touches. It can cause an object produce much louder sounds than normal, or make no sound at all. It can make people deaf or mute.
The stand's user is a police officer, who my players should bump into soon. Hopefully as an ally.

Has anyone tried out more than one of these?

That just means Stands with ranks above what's possible for ordinary Stands. Made in Heaven's speed, Notorious BIG's durability, Gold Experience Requiem's everything, etc.

Confirm something for me Veeky Forums, what happens when you shoot a stand in the face with a normal gun?

It'd either pass through the stand since stands are basically spirits, or you'd get pic related.

The gun would have to be or be powered by a stand to do anything. Only a stand can harm a stand directly. It's the stand user you want to shoot in the head.

So Stands can move through walls then right?

bump

I think they're limited to the user's LOS.

Did Mista ever shoot a Stand? What happened then? He's the only Stand-using gun wielder I can think of that isn't in SBR (The lack of punchghosts mean the rules would be different, except for with Valentine, and even then he only ever gets shot by Tusk) or Hol Horse.

Bumping because I want to contribute to the thread but can't because class is a thing

「Gas Gas Gas」

Power: B
Speed: A
Precision: C
Range: E
Durability: B
Learning: B

Bound to the users body. Allows the user to transform his body into a small car. This transformation can be done partially, allowing the user to combine the articulation of his body and the mechanical components of a car.

「The Wall」
Power: A
Speed: D
Range: B
Durability: A
Precision: E
Learning: E
「The Wall」 is a slow, incredibly large, silver armored knight that had massive, detachable tower shields on its wrists. (Similar appearance to pic related)
It has two abilities:
1. 「The Wall」cannot be affected by mundane force. (Burning, acid, shock, etc. still work)
2. The user's body is able to fight and is prevented from deteriorating until he is 100% dead.

From what I remember, only 「Beach Boy」, and that horribly backfired.

only stands can harm stands
only exception is Jolyne kicking C-Moon, but she prolly used Stone Free with the kick

So what happens?

The bullet goes through it?

Well we're told Star Platinum goes and gets thing and brings them back to Jotoro's prison cell, but that's not very reliable because we're also told Star Platinum's range in like 10 feet.
That's what I'm assuming, but I don't know if we've ever seen it.

In my current campaign,「The Wall」 that manifests as a curved, see through wall that covers the user's field of vision. Nothing can go through it from the outside, but the user can throw objects and punches from the inside. Anything that moves through the wall is supercharged and can harm stands. The wall can split into multiple areas, allowing the user to defend from two angles.
The user is also a martial arts pro.

>「Aesop Rock」
Power [E] / Speed [E] / Range [C] / Durability [A] / Precision [C] / Potential [D]

> Appearance
This Stand manifests as a tall statue reminiscent of the Maoi figures on Easter Island, constructed from dark stone that has been crudely carved into a humanoid shape. It has a minimalist style with its face taking up the majority of its height and the rest is its body which has dwarfish proportions.

> Ability
The primary ability of「Aesop Rock」is to create red sandstone formations that look similar to Uluru, better known as Ayers Rock. The size and dimensions of these rock formations can vary depending on the needs of the Stand User, they sprout from the ground and can cause structural damage to buildings and other infrastructure.「Aesop Rock」primarily uses this ability to create defensive walls around its Stand User as it is a fairly immobile Stand.

Actually, most users can see through their Stand's eyes

Didn't Star Platinum block a bullet when Jotaro tried to shoot himself.

Stands tend to be selectively permeable when the plot calls for it.

Or they could just be reacting to the threat lever presented to the user?

Stands can affect the world just fine, but they generally aren't damaged by non-stand attacks
This, generally. Only exception I know of is Polnareff not being able to see through Silver Chariot.

Hey there. Lonesome here.

The bad news, like always: JJBAHRP is on hold. Still.

The good news: The reason for this is because the newest version of the system is currently Kickstarting and goes live later this year/early next.

The even better news: another reason I'm delayed on JJBAHRP is because I'm being featured as a creator on the Kickstarter. I won't shill any more or post a link, but the system that used to be MHRP/Cortex Plus is now Cortex Prime and I'm doing a thing called Titans vs Leviathans. Google it!

Ever blue,
Lonesome
