Would the Tau Empire permit client species in its auxiliary forces to pilot any variant of battlesuit?

Would the Tau Empire permit client species in its auxiliary forces to pilot any variant of battlesuit?

No, I'm not asking about gue'vesa, I'm not a faggot. It just looks like kroot are getting buffed up in 8th edition and I'm wondering if I could provide them with some fire support.

No. But they'll do because GW is GW

I daresay the Earth Caste would meddle with things like that, maybe not for Kroot but for their more "civilised" auxiliaries like the Demiurg.

Mining battlesuits™, Laser drills and shit, would be cool but nah, GW will give us another salt powered robot instead.

Please. This is a topic GW has no interest in touching.

>big stompy cc mecha for kids
>GW has no interest in that
Are you retarded?

Hm. Then I wonder whether kroot could salvage battlesuits from their tau allies.

What the fuck does GW's weird fetish for selling stompy robots to kids have to do with whether non-Tau would be permitted to pilot them?

Fluff has never been clear on species rights in the Empire. Lately the Tau have been a bit Supremacist, and the Kroot have always been a bit separate as a client race, so I'd say probably not.

Doesn't mean that I haven't seen "looted" crisis suit conversions with Kroot in them, though, because I have.

Why would the Tau allow them to pilot mecha and high tech stuff? It makes no sense in the fluff.
But we'll get the model anyway

That would imply that GW gave a fuck about tau auxiliaries, which they don't, although the fact that kroot are getting a shot in the arm in 8th edition is, I concede, a sign you might be onto something.

But I think looted suit conversions might be more up my alleyway, yeah. Hopefully ones with a little bit more taste than an open cockpit with a kroot sitting in it.

I thought Kroot hated technology because they nearly wiped themselves out from some war using high-tech shit.

They think their shamanistic anti-tech ways suit them better and consider even the Warspheres pushing it.

>That would imply that GW gave a fuck about tau auxiliaries, which they don't, although the fact that kroot are getting a shot in the arm in 8th edition is, I concede, a sign you might be onto something.
You know I'm right

What do we actually know about kroot in 8e?

I don't think a Kroot would want to pilot a suit, he'd have to get out if he managed to kill something to eat it, and that's a waste of time when he could just be riding his Krootox cousin Tweetums.

>Would the Tau Empire permit client species in its auxiliary forces to pilot any variant of battlesuit?

There is a canon in a BL novel, though I personally believe the novel was pretty good example where a renegade Inquisitor was given his own personal Battlesuit as a token of appreciation for serving the Tau Empire.

It's entirely plausible for them to arm a rare few individuals with battlesuits, but in the case of the Kroot I would like to point out that arming them in Battlesuits would be absolutely horrific in their cultural mindset, and never something they would willingly endure. Hell, they barely even like wearing CLOTHES because it interferes with their ability to sense their environment, so I just can't see any sane Kroot ever choosing to fight in a Battlesuit, where they are completely removed from the environment.

>I thought Kroot hated technology because they nearly wiped themselves out from some war using high-tech shit.

No, they just believe that their problems can largely be solved by eating the dead and using their genes to modify their own, gaining new powers and abilities over time through said consumption.

They aren't actively anti-tech, because they can and do use technology (like their starships) when it's most prudent to do so - but if there is an organic, biological solution present, they'll use that one every time.

Just this, and that shapers are independent characters with an ability that lets kroot reroll in their vicinity and use their leadership value for morale tests.

We've got a troop, elite and a fast attack choice already. We might be doing alright.

Don't think kroot suits would work great, I would rather see a new species for non-tau suits.
I want a nicassar suit.

>we will never see a true Xenos coalition take to the battlefields
>Tau will always just be another good guy race that are actually assholes
>GW will just add more battle suits that look basically the same

Well its implied they reached atleast Imperium tech-level and then stopped using any of it, cause their ships are better at Warp travel than the Tau, and the Tau keep on detecting large industrial complexes in the mountains of Pech.

Fluff-wise no. There have been a few human special snowflake OCs in canon that have gotten the right to, but generally you need a large degree of clout to even get your hands on basic pulse weaponry.

If you wanted to be a bit more lore friendly with it, I would say to get some Sentinels and convert them to be Kroot walkers or something. Kroot do have some degree of tech, it just tends to be more rugged and glossed over because they prefer dinosaurs.

As it stands though, it seems like it would be really tricky to bring any heavy firepower into a Kroot army and keep it 100% kroot.

We need Knarlocs

For fucks sake stop jacking off to suits. Let the Kroot be Kroot. If Kroot become as suit focusedan as the Tau have then there is nothing good left. Besides Kroot and Suits don't mix fluff wise at all.

>M7

Goddamn, fucking emus are FAST in 8.

Theres more then just Kroot in the tau empire, its just that GW jacks of to tau suits so much we never fucking see them apart from kroot

You could consider Fortifications. An Aegis line probably isn't going to be stuck snap-firing with those Icarus guns anymore, and 8 shots from those autocannons could be scary.

>a renegade Inquisitor was given his own personal Battlesuit as a token of appreciation for serving the Tau Empire
I don't suppose you have a screenshot of that? Or just the name of the book.

So here's the flaw here from the outset.

GW's fluff allows for pretty much anything. While the law is absolute there's enough room for eccentric, powerful people and corruption to make anything work for your guys.

For a Kroot or Demiurg in a battlesuit, my first gut instinct is farsight enclaves seem mericratic enough to allow that easily if a kroot is good and really wants to.

Tau empire proper, the fire caste folks would probably let it happen if not under the supervision of an ethereal for long enough. The individual fire caste guys (apart from Shadowsun and folks with their brains bored out by the puretide chip) are all written as practical and valuing comradery/valor along with their allies. A kroot that fights alongside Fire Warriors or Crisis suits long enough could theorectically become like family, maybe even share a bonding ritual, which could definitely forge a relationship that would let him in a battlesuit.

It's more implies that their warp tech is the genetic memory of eaten Meks, and they don't really know how it works they just build it.

3rd Ed codex said that taus sold armor to decadent imperial nobles (Inquisition was also worried cause it was thought to be broadcasting info about Imps back to t'au space). Maybe crisis suits are too state of the art, but it's been done before.

The Damocles Anthology.

It isn't GW that wanks off to Tau purest armies, it was the fucking player base. As a tau player, I fucking hate them for fucking over the possibility of the xenos combine that could have been. GW did fucking drop the ball on the rules for vespids and kroot though.

fan'wank much?
Battlesuits are not only considered a high honor for Tau fire warriors, but their also limited in supply. Their not just going to hand that shit out to their allies when they've got tons of loyal fire warriors lining up for them. The Farsight enclaves are a viable option, hell they've strapped an earth caste in a riptide already, but fucking not likely in the Empire proper. They sold personal armor, nothing coming close to XV8 crisis suit level.

Why dont we have Vespid flyers?

>no telekinetic zero-G polar bear aliens crushing enemies with their minds while piloting/wearing a half battlesuit/half gravity harness for planetary gravity
have there been any references to Nicassar outside of BFG?

that was alleging a connection to Necromundas Spyrers, but was never confirmed.

only issue is no HQ

they can already fly
the only tech they seem to have is marine-killing crystals

Im sure they would be great pilots of light crafts.

Ethereal Buffs work well for them now. A Kroot shaman with some robes seems like an easy conversion to do

Didn't that guy also have a mind-controlling parasite living in his brain?

>put me Lee specialist into suit that mostly only have ranged capabilities
Isn't that kind of counter productive? I mean I guess they could design some kroot speciality power armor that increases their speed and agility, but I don't see the point of giving them regular Tau battle suits.

Cyborg-mutant Kroot would make more sense than a suit. Make them heretics and outcast of the Kroot belief in primitive lifestyle.
