Why bother including starfinder as a main topic of discussion where there's nothing usable about it yet?

There's playtest videos, class and mechanics previews, plus there's lots of room for lore speculation and talking about potential campaign ideas.

I didn't though? The thread question applies to pathfinder obviously...

I've never encounter any homebrew that I liked that I didn't directly create myself. It's not like I haven't tried, either, but most of it either sounds lame or looks broke as fuck.

Dragons 2 greentext?

I want to take the revolutionary setting of Galt and amplify it for Starfinder. Should I just have a whole planet for it in constant revolutionary vs counter revolutionary chaos or cast it as a creeping evil across the Pact Worlds spreading terror and upheaval a la communism?

Because autism and honestly I agree with you, when Starfinder release, I rather that SF have its own general and don't mix with Pathfinder.

Well, we do have the Vast which can have practically anything so some planet that exist in the Vast that has this and then has it's forces spreading it's influences in the Pact Worlds is doable.

It had a crossover with LoBaF

At first I did agree with you, but the more I've thought about it the more I think it provides an injection of new content, new lore, and other new stuff for the general to talk about and pick apart. It's good for discussion, at least until we exhaust the subject.

Why dilute the two paizo lines when the player bases overlap? It's not like we have so much thrilling pathfinder discussion every thread that it'd be drowned out by starfinder. The two can coexist easily.

Not to mention, while the rules for SF are different from PF the two are still linked lore wise so it's not like someone isn't going to find some way to shoehorn PF stuff into SF.

>Hey look the helmet of a Grey Maiden is up for auction, totally gotta steal it

>Congratulations you find Golarion!
>it was stuck in some interdimensional portal bullshit
>it drained all your character skills and level, roll a pathfinder character!

If a Grey Maiden also becomes a Grey Gardener does she become a different shade of grey?

>Fifty Shades of Grey Maiden

Yeah, though the change is by about 50 or so shades

I like how Starfinder splits the difference between 40K and Hitchhiker's Guide by making the Drift not weird and stupid or insane and instantly lethal.

Sounds fitting for a CotCT erp session

Here's a fun though exercise. Take you current App/Char Backstory, now imagine it narrated by Gilbert Godfried

>It seems Golarion was turned into a giant monster
>Roll for initiative!

Does improved evasion work on spells that are all-or-nothing?

Like, not reflex half, but rather, "save or X" with no secondary effects?

Fuck the skill system. Seriously.

Fuck whoever designed fighter too.

I prefer Bobcat Goldthwait

No, it's very specific when it applies.

Why are posting in Paizo's general then? Both of those were designed by WotC for 3.0 / 3.5

No but now that they've decided to put 9th level casting back in, and made it a "gift" from one of the deities, it's probably going to turn paizo-retarded within a few APs.

how is this fun

Welcome to finally 3.PF, and congrats on your first steps to becoming your average jaded /pfg/ goer

We had a late start so we were only able to play for a couple hours, but briefly it went like this:

>the party minus Rory ends up in some kind of dungeon literally made of ice
>they explore, while Rinka is unlocking a door it turns out to not be a door at all and is an ice elemental
>several more pop up from the ground and surprise the party, Rinka gets hit hard but the party overpowers several elementals
>the remainder retreat into the icy floor, Calsi uses an Unseen Servant to pound the ground and create a distraction
>this works an and another elemental gets destroyed as it pops out of the ground to attack the servant, the last remaining elemental retreats
>following it, they come to a dead end, but actually there's an illusory wall that leads into a room beyond, the floor of which is decorated by a mural
>the mural depicts three white dragons. over time one has turned into a skeleton, one has grafted heads from a multi-headed beast onto itself, and one has sailed away on a ship
>the party quickly deduces these to be Lua, Tiu, and apparently a third youngest sister. Tiu seems to be involved in the illegal Thuvian magic item trade

and that's where we stopped

>11 pages
>Much of it dialogue
>Dialogue by female characters.

Stop. I can only get so erect.

Its an esoteric kind of fun

Half of those have like 50 applications already banked with no response from the GM. Can we trim these down to actual games that might have a chance of being played?

>Rory
Why would you do this to your game?

>no response from the GM
GMs here don't always close apps early, they wait until the last moment most of the time or announce ahead of time. Overlewd got like 60 applications, PLD like 40.

Dammit Hojo, stop trying to fuck with planets already!

>minus Rory
Did he finally get kicked to the curb?

He couldn't show up for the game that week.

Better yet: Your character's backstory summed up by Waldorf and Statler.

Cast your vote! Who should get into Golden Chalice?

strawpoll.me/13090610

>This half-orc is a credit to his race.
>Which one?
>The 50 meter run
>DOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!

I can't vote for any of these, there's no gnomes

aaaaaaaaaaa I can't finish my app about unrequited love!

The lewder the content the better it gets. Imagine him voicing an ERP scene.

Actually, pair him up with Danny DeVito and you can turn basically anything sexual into pure hilarity.

>"Say, baby, put down that pipe and get my pipe up."
>She giggled in response. At just 5'2, she had a gigantic bust that both helped and hurt her depending on the situation. "These cocks are uncanny"
>Ashley's breasts swelled the cotton fabric, and her nipples were clearly outlined underneath.
>"These cocks are uncanny" he said.
>Though she knew Brad was not Mr.Right, she knew he looked good enough to be Mr.Right.Now. "This would go in a lot easier if I was drunk."
>"Good", he said. "Now turn around. Unbutton your shirt, and allow it to drop from your shoulders. Then stroke the front wall of your vagina"

The rules are still 3.PF shit.

Serious discussion guys.

Who here has actually played DHB's martials. What are you experience with them? I'm curious but unsure.

I hope spinal-mounted weapons are a thing in Starfinder.

You better hustle or I'm going to post mine first.

They better be.
Any starfighter that can't pack a battleship's main turret guns as a spinal mount has no hope at even intercepting shit.

I want to play a martial in JttW with the theme of 'channeling spirits'. Unfortunately most spirit channelers seem to be casters.

I am mainly thinking of this to make use of the myriad of small gods.

What martials have this theme?

Unless it's for planetary bombardment or extreme long range attack, a spinal mount is ridiculously inefficient.

Avowed?

Surprisingly enough, both are extremely useful in orbital warfare.

A goblin starfighter that's just a gun with maneuvering thrusters, and after every shot he has to hand crank the power back on because it drains its entire battery stores after one.

Who are you?

Avowed (Divine) with the Guardian Spirit feat, second half of Gestalt is a martial class.

This gets me to wondering. Hot Starship on starship action is probably not something you'll see a whole lot of in Pact World Space but I would love to see various pirate empires duking it out with their own fighter pilots and mercenaries defending their territory or escorting merchants through literall gang wars in space.

Medium (Wendo Caller) or Kami Medium if you don't like Avowed. Pick a CHA-based initiator on the other side and go to town

If you're a Starfinder pirate, do you target ships in real space near inhabited systems or in the Drift between known routes?

Ship combat is going to be pretty common considering the Free Captains and Aspis Consortium are a thing, but in the Vast there should be pirate empires and all sorts of junk!

>Hot Starship on starship action is probably not something you'll see a whole lot of in Pact World Space

I disagree, how else does the Azlanti Star Empire flex its authority over known space?

HAIL AZLANT!

Depends on what sort of outfit I'm running. If I'm aligned with the criminal organizations planet side my thing may be to target rivals and disrupt their business with some targets of oppurtiny on the side. If I don't give a shit what dirt eating planet side mongrels think or want I take their shit.

I see, my concern was there wouldn't be enough action in the Pact Worlds to run a game where everyone is an ace pilot. Fear absolved.

How do I build my Archer Occultist?

Well here's the thing; The whole point of fighters - always has been - is that while less efficient budget-wise (miniaturization is a costly bitch) it's still WAY fucking cheaper to put something that can tear a hole through the big capital ship on something small enough to land inside said ship that only needs one or two people to pilot it. No matter how good defenses get, it's always a simple matter to put a few weapons capable of breaking through on something smaller. The weapons (especially in case of missiles) may not be smaller than the ones used by the larger vehicle at all, just that less are carried, and the smaller ship has less other functions which directly makes it cheaper, lower-crew (though more automation costs) and lighter.

Once you can detach certain non-combat-essential systems and handle them someplace else, like a hangar or base, that's when you get 'fighters'. No need for maintenance corridors and a galley, it comes back home for that.

Even with drones and missiles as options this only changes the relative duties of the 'fighter' from "torpedo divebomber" of the old days to "sensor-envelope-extending killer-drone-carrier with some kind of heavy weapon of its own since it's already decently big to begin with"

In the most stable areas, you probably have more corvettes or the like on long patrol routes keeping relative peace, with most forces either elsewhere or on training/standby. However the further out you go, yeah; you'll start seeing

AZLANT ENDURES! Absalom Station is ours by DIVINE RIGHT!

for a second there I thought that was a picture of best girl

A few flak turrets will get rid of pesky fighters.

You pick Battle Host and take a bow.

While I understand fully what you're saying. Drones does not a knightly lineage of warriors who practice the most esteemed form of combat as well as being handy with a sword and pisotl.

I don't care who gets in

i care about who gets fucked

>app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/78876/depths-of-darkess-a-pathfinder-adventure

How have we missed this gem of an application?

Tonight.

Rainyday.

Tell me /pfg/, I need information on some 3pp content out there, specifically "good"-ish 3pp content for the Monk. Is there any such content that you know of and are willing to share?

Yeah but anyone using a sword and pistol inside their cockpit probably just fucking blew out their controls.

I'd fuck the kobold!

Who doesn't love ginger THICC?

>app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/78876/depths-of-darkess-a-pathfinder-adventure

Those apps are a gold mine.

My personal favorite is:
> I am 34 years old and I am a life long gamer. I have always had interest in Dark Themed game

>2 foot tall

...

Don't you know she's the one doing the fucking

BBW is not thicc, it's fat.

DSP has an archetype for the monk that gives it initiating.

There's the Surge Fist Monk from Legendary Kineticists, along with that one pdf from Everyman gaming that gives more balanced conversions of Monk archetypes to unchained monk

>Azlanti deep cover agent posing as a Free Captain who joined the Aspis Consortium and is a triple agent for the Starfinders.

Couldn't tell you about Occultist, but Point-Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Deadly Aim, Manyshot, and Clustered Shot are pretty standard for archers. Then again, Deadly Aim may be a tough penalty for a 3/4 BAB.

Do you think these people just have a bunch of random phrases? Like, if it was 'Shining Light: A Pathfinder Adventure' would they say 'I am 34 years old and I am a life long gamer. I have always had an interest in Light Themed game'?

This.

BBW is personals ads code for morbidly-grotesque obesity. Where the folds above her breasts smell like bad pussy, and anything below the belt (metaphorically; no belts exist that can cover this distance) would kill an otyugh with but a whiff.

Thicc is already chubby, but BBW sees "thicc" as near-death anorexia.

They would.
It's not random though. Their vocabulary and therefore ability to formulate concepts and trains of thought is just that limited.

I think they're just so thirsty for a game, that they just feign interest in whatever the game is about.

Like editing your resume to include the keywords for a job.

How do I boost my charisma apart from the level-up bonuses and a headband of Charisma and pumping Charisma up at level 1? I've got 26 Charisma by Level 10 and that feels really low. How can I improve that number?

No no, they do it because that's what application culture is outside of /pfg/. As someone who spent a solid year using the LFG for games, DMs typically expect to know a bit about the player as much as the player character - it's so they know what to expect voice and personality wise, you see. Nobody wants to accept an 18 year old busty half-Elf ranger and join the Skype call to hear a deep Southern drawl.

After 5 years in his master wizard tower ,Armored with father dagger, his mother dragonhead staff, a hooded blue robe. He left the Kingdom for a journey of adventure to join the pathfinder society, be a hero to the common people as well as an archmage/archwizard, and to find a human redhead bbw woman as a lover ( he's always love human women with huge chest and huge butts, blame it on the master he always have women coming over to his tower) Also his greatest lesson that Xuntel taught him is that you must have patients to be a great wizard, and never harm an innocent.

>posting applications outside of the applications thread
What's with this etiquette?

>18+2 lv1
>+2 from lv4/8
>+6 headband
You should at the very least have 28 by now, son.

>I have x years of experience playing this game
Why the fuck do they keep doing this?

Alrighty, you're right- I didn't wanna spend all my WBL on a Charisma headband

but after realizing I'm going for a CHA-to-everything build that was a stupid thought. 28 Charisma it is then

I think the joke is that a 34 year old wrote that, not that the person gave their age.

R20 randos don't actually read anything posted about games, they just shotgun applications. This is pretty apparent when they blatantly ignore chargen rules ("I'm using a 40RP half-elephant, half-tree custom race, if that's not cool I can change it to human"), a complete lack of application ("Hi can I still join?"), or occasionally by randomly requesting to play a character which somebody else applied with ("I really feel like I could capture the dark, edgy nature of that character").

>tfw keep losing motivation to finish Flower Court App, especially when I know U won't even be able to attend so they'd just be a potential NPC as best
>tfw can almost never stay motivated to make an actual charsheet unless its for a game with my meatspace friends
Why is it so hard /pfg/

Wait I've never seen that last one before.

... Show me.
