Question about the Sisters of Silence and Blanks in the Imperium in general ... what about the male blanks? What happens to them?

Given how rare the Pariah gene is, you would think they wouldn't limit themselves to one gender...

Culexus temple.

There are known to be female Culexus, and they're not as numerous as the Sisters of Silence.

>what about the male blanks? What happens to them?
They end up on 40kChan screaming about how normies ruin everything.

Well there's the Culexus, but they only take in the ones who meet their requirements regardless of gender...

It's probably that the males serve on the Black Ships as crew members, along with the Sisters of Silence and any female blanks who don't meet their requirements. Kinda like the Chapter Serfs for the Space Marines

Lots of stuff. Assassin temples, inquisitorial staff, exiled in the wastes, necron's grab them for mysterious purposes, clever rogue trader's employing them, etc.

I think the necron fluff is no longer valid

there are multiple options, but they are also open to women as well... the real question is why only women for the order...

Short answer... the emperor is kinky?

>and they're not as numerous as the Sisters of Silence.
that's because assassin training and augmentation is considerably more lethal than whatever the sisters of silence go through

The SoS just limit themselves to women because tradition/ceremony/whatever.

Have the Sisters of Silence been retconed to have existed since the Great Crusade and not been interrupted or have they just been refounded by Guilliman?

It's sort of a soft-retcon.

They have sort of always existed, but loosely. Primarily only in the cases of guarding the Black Ships and isolated orders in bumfuck-nowhere hunting witches with little contact to the greater Imperium.

When Guilliman returned to the scene, he put out a call to have the Sisters of Silence reorganize into a formalized order once again.

He also set up two orders of male-only warrior monks who may or may not have their junk neutered, dude's just got a fetish for celibacy

There's no official reason for why SoS are gender restricted. It honestly feels like a half-assed attempt meet some diversity quota rather than a legitimately interesting faction. Which is not surprising considering how much GW despises SoB.

Jesus fuck I hate the Sisters of Silence

They serve no purpose thematically. They were just added to those shit books because some no nothing fucker wanted Sisters of Battle and realized they wouldn't have existed then, so he invented his OWN all female emperor schlicking spec-ops, then cranked up the mary sue by making them all blanks even though 1. Blanks are super rare and 2. Blanks cause such profoud nausea, horror, and distaste in others having a large number of them working together somewhere would be a disaster.

Then, because this dumb fucker invented them, people started asking "well, where did they all go then" and so GW went "uhm, err... right here all along haha!"

Plus the fact they're likely to completely replace SoB's in a few years because 30k was successful so GW think's we're wanking over that shit

The High Lords kept at least some around on Terra. They teleport in to bail Guilliman out of his battle with Magnus on the moon.

>t. buttmad psyker

Agreed; they're one of the worst things about the HH novels.

The only good thing about the HH novels were those pyschically linked soldiers. Part of the thing that made them good was the fact that they all died.

Still, it's a damn sound idea as long as you aren't going up against Chaos

They are older than the books

There's no reason why they have to be all women, there is some background fluff that they may have original come from a female dominated world, and that carried over... but even that is to be taken with a massive grain of salt

warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Sisters_of_Silence - regarding the The Plague of Madness

"The Daughters of the Crow was what the manifest of the stationed Imperialis Auxilia named them, or more formally the 5th '9-13' Indentured Irregular Infantry Regiment. They were a primarily female-culturally phenotype (techno-barbarian) force from an obscure feral world in the southern reaches of the Segmentum Solar, so obscure in fact it lacked a proper name in the records, only the designation of '9-13.' Recently raised and folded into the Great Crusade, landing only weeks previously for muster, the regiment had not yet seen active service, but the sparse records available showed a number of ill-defined complaints raised against the regiment by those who had been barracked alongside it; numerous fractious incidents were logged and discipline masters had been frequently sent out in force to break up trouble between the 9-13'ers and others. Sent in with the rest of the Auxilia as the tide of madness had spread, the small regiment had not only held against the onslaught, it had driven back the afflicted horde, and not one of its fighters had suffered psychic contamination. Not one."

"To Gigan D'antès, versed in the lore of the Scholastica Psykana, there could only be a single answer; the Daughters of the Crow -- or at least a very significant proportion of them -- were Untouchables. It was unprecedented and doubtless something that needed later investigation, but for now they offered a lifeline to a world besieged by madness. With air support from the orbiting Black Ships, the Daughters of the Crow took the battle to the very heart of the nightmare -- the depths of the Distempora Sector. Here they gave battle to the transfigured horrors that had been unleashed from the gestalt minds of the 'holy family' of the cult and slew them. The effect was akin to extinguishing a fire by hurling an explosive into its midst. The spreading stain of madness had been cut off at its source, and now mere anarchy and disaster reigned, where dark purpose had previously ruled all. It would take the VI Legion to bring Pentacanaes back to heel, and in the aftermath a billion dead were accounted for and half a world left a burned out shell. By then the survivors of the Daughters of the Crow were long gone within the hold of D'antès' Black Ship, while far off across the Segmentum Solar, it is said that scores of other Black Ships appeared in the skies of the obscure planet designated '9-13' and in their passing left a world half emptied."

We're talking about the Imperium here!
For every secret Inquisitorial blank breeding program, there's going to be another Inquisitor from the Polypsykana faction (or local equivalents) trying to wipe them out in order to speed up humanity's psychic ascension.

they are a rip of fish speakers from dune. the sisters of battle are the same thing. its also what the emperor is if you super smart and well read reddi/tg/ers didnt know

on a related note im sure sister players will take pride in the fact that they were created in dune specifically to cuck males and turn all the males in society into limp wristed, baby dicked, hipster liberal nu-males

they are stupid though

Probably. There's a hundred cross-ideology Inquisitorial shadow wars being conducted between untold numbers of disparate factions and Inquisitorial philosophies.

For every ideological divide, you're find maybe half a dozen for and half a dozen against, plus a few weirdos that are tangent. There's even Ordos that monitor other Ordos. It's a nightmare. And on top of that, you've probably got to at least grant your fellow Inquisitors a fig leaf or appearance of trust to actually work together, and you still have work to do outside of watching your back all the time.

Yes there is actually. A huge part of why they is exist because there was a restriction on the ecclesiarchy to keep men under arms after that goge vandire buisness, as another check on their power to prevent similar incidents and they immediately just rules lawyered out of it by keeping women under arms. The ecclesiarchy can't keep men under arms thanks to that business.

That's Sisters of Battle, not Sisters of Silence

They were created for the Horus Heresy CCG back in about 2005 for a Burning of Prospero set. Ladies in less pauldron-y armour to contrast with giant golden men, blanks to try to balance Thousand Sons. The art books for the CCG got really popular, which inspired the novels, which meant they had to include what was just intended as a set of pretty/somewhat useful cards.

Woops I'm retarded, I saw SoB in the post and picture and thought that's what you were talking about. I ought to get some sleep. Sorry user.

>the real question is why only women for the order...
It's a common affectation of brutal dictators.

They spend their days posting on 40kchan.
