If CSM get brought into close combat by the boyz they're not going to have a good time of it. Best to fire bolters while moving backwards to keep out of close combat until you've killed enough to turn the combat in your favor and it also matters then who gets the charge off

CSM are given certain advantages over boyz, if you don't exploit those advantages then you should not be surprised if they underperform.

That Chaos is completely unstoppable. Ensure that we're back to the recently retconned 'if everyone dies, they die,' logic, but play up the moral conundrum that as long as the Imperium/galaxy survives, so does Chaos, and even if society or indoctrination suppresses the emotions that feed them they still lie there, watching and waiting in weakened form for disaster to strike once again, like some sort of horrible, parasitic cycle.

I kinda like the idea of 5 Storm Bolter Dominions. That's almost as much dakka as flamer Dominions but with more range and flexibility at only 70 points for the squad.

Once the mob gets dropped to around to less than 20 you should be good be good to melee.

What is the best Daemon Engine for a World Eaters army? The Maulerfind has piss-poor offensive power but is very fast and tough, while Helbrutes fare better in combat but they're complete glass cannons (only 8W and M8" vs maulerfiends M10" W12 heals one per turn, but only A4 WS4+ and degrades).

Defilers just suck. Expensive, innacurate, relatively slow and only 3 attacks. Then you have Heldrakes which are quite neat but don't have any real anti-vehicle options.

Can "deepstrike" within D6+3 and charge.

Serious answer, there was a huge hubbub over pic related on tumblr recently. The creator had made an all-female space marine chapter called the Daughters of Persephone. It's actually not bad - an awful lot better than many homebrew chapters I've seen, and even several canon ones - but the amount that it contradicted the fluff triggered a lot of fanboys, who got very loud very fast. Trolls took notice and realized this could be used to their advantage.

I wanna know why they expect to be able to shoot a commissar. I mean, a couple Leman Russes, chimeras, tauroxes, or even wyverns parked between the troop lines provide perfect cover for anyone on a 25mm base.

I had a conversation with someone the other day and they said they hated the 40k community and blamed them for the lack of Female space marines.

You don't need enough to blot out the map, you just need enough to prevent enemy models from being able to get within 1" of them. Stick the commissar smack in the direct center of a 50model conscript blob and he's untouchable, there's literally no reason not to do this unless you're hiding him out of LoS from snipers using method.

Sticking your commisar in the middle of a unit prevents it from affecting multiple units. If you want to keep coverage, you've just increased your commisar tax and decreased your conscript density.

GW could probably just put one line in a SM book that says female marines exist, then never make models for them, and 90% of players who want them will be satisfied.
They wouldn't exactly be difficult to convert and 3rd party stores would probably start selling them like they do with female guard.

Aside from perhaps Knights, 8th edition is looking horde-ish meta wise. Conscripts with Commissars, Cultists with Abaddon, Orks, Nids. All fearless Hordes and seemingly top tier. And even against vehicles meltaguns are no longer the god weapons they once were. Some meltaguns is no doubt still good, I think all meltaguns is a mistake. Flamers likely are still superior, mainly due to overwatch. But I like the fact that Storm Bolters can be considered a non-crazy option now. New storm bolters are one of my favorite bits of 8th.

Space marines are so genetically and cybernetically modified that they don't qualify as human anymore. People look at that, and think it's stupid the same can't be done with women for reasons.

Sororitas are too sexualized and Space Marines remain a maleclusive space. So of course radicals want to make Space Marines For All, which will open the way to the next advancement in the fight for equality tranny marines.

Sisters are consistently shit on in the fluff.
Marines consistently win in the fluff.
People want to have the ones who represent them not just be there to lose.

Sisters of Battle:
> Lose every fight
> Old metal models
> Bodices and high heels in combat
> No real lore presence outside Celestine

Space Marines:
> Win every fight (often with Heavy Casualties, but they don't matter by next fight)
> Current and updated lore, involved in all the major battles
> Consistently updated and available minis
> What everyone thinks of when they think 40k, so creators' minds go to them often

I played a 1500pt game with 2 spirit seers, 2 units of wraithblades with sword, 2 units of scythe guard and a wraithknight with cannons against Genecult
Lost cause it was too slow in the end for objectives, but otherwise it held up rather well defensively.
D-scythes while powerful as fuck, still aren't as amazing as last edition
wraithknights will still amazing, are now 200pts more expensive, and aren't as unmanagable as before
wraithblades are *really* good
runes of battle is *really* good
