Alpha Legion POV book

>Alpha Legion POV book
>Sisters of Battle are the antagonist

what do I think of this, Veeky Forums?

neat

Wait are those primaris Alpha Legionnaires?

MOTHER FUCKING CAWL messing with shit he aught not to have.

Also why the fuck am i so suprised about it, it's the Alpha Legion.

lmao maybe. Honestly they look like loyalist marines besides the skull on the top of the commanders backpack and the logo. Way too clean compared to normal CSM

Maybe that's the point though, to seem similar.

Plot:

>Upon the oceanic hive world of Tsadrekha, the darkness of the Noctis Aeterna is held at bay by the golden light of a unique beacon. Yet as sharks are drawn to blood, so the ravening warbands of the Heretic Astartes circle the planet, warring to claim this rich prize for their Dark Gods. Now, one of those warlords has deployed a secret weapon to end the deadlock. Kassar and his elite band of Alpha Legionnaires, the Unsung, must infiltrate the planet, using all their cunning and warrior skill to overcome the planets defenders and corrupt the beacon. They need to work fast, for none other than Kharn the Betrayer himself has come to lead the final assault. As a rising tide of apocalyptic warfare consumes Tsadrekha, Kassar and his brothers must race for the prize or be consumed by the fury of the storm.

I hope a Sister gets corrupted by Chaos, maybe even two.

>Heretic Astartes

They serve our dark gods faithfully right? RIGHT?

>Implying 40k artists or even the writers know anything about the setting

Still, we'll see.

Those are Forge World 30K Alpha Legion kits. You can tell they are not Primaris because they don't have segmented ab armor and have regular old Mk VII and Mk VIII style abs. The helmet and shoulders are Forge World. The backpacks are CSM.

>Veterans of the long war actually using gear from 30k

Huh

Nice touch

Exactly what I was thinking.

I am so, so tired of GW and their copyright bullshit.

You're just going to have to accept that the Heretic Astartes will forever do battle with the Adeptus Astartes and the Astra Militarum under the control of the Imperium of Man(c) with the Aeldari cutting in every once in a while when they aren't busy dealing with the Druhkari or the Orruks

Wait, GW Aeldari/Drukhari/Astra Militarum'd the CSM? I never even noticed.

>warhammer is the single biggest influence on the pop culture orc
>Sorry guys we have to name our orcs something else, they're too generic now
I will never not be angry. They essentially let fucking warcraft get the credit for big green barbaric orcs.

alpha legion have always been like that.
They've got a whole maybe secret loyalists thing going on in the fluff sometimes.

eh. this one makes sense and I'm pretty was used occasionally before anyway.

Looks more like mk IV armour. They aren't chads.

Blame UK IP law. It's retarded as fuck, and in this case, it genuinely isn't GW's fault. They risk losing their IP otherwise.

>Way too clean compared to normal CSM
In Index Astartes their battle cry was "For the Emperor" so that guardsmen would assume they're loyalist and not shoot until it was too late.

AL Marines can reach roughly Primaris size, so they can Body Double for Alpharius/Omegon.

I've heard something like this, like that under British IP copyright law, if they don't attempt to persecute every single thing that could possibly be conceived as a breach of their IP, it creates grounds for saying they don't care about their IP and they lose it or somesuch.
I'm not a copyright lawyer though, never mind one in the UK, so I don't know how true those rumors are.

That's basically what it is. Of course some companies go overboard with that kind of stuff, trying to copyright normal words, like GW tried to do with Space Marines back in the Kirby days, but i GW's case, the renaming was to avoid having people using their IP indirectly.

>Sisters of Battle are the antagonist
I just wanna say that my waifus can do no wrong. That's all.

Obviously not.

Primaris marines are the same size as regular marines, fluff wise.

They're referenced in Dark Imperium as bigger actually.

any size difference between primaris marines and space marines only exist when the 2 are present on the same artwork, possibly covered by perspectives but never actually relevant for the relations with any opponent

This is a common internet myth but it has been debunked many times. This is NOT the case with copyright law. Lawyers are just assholes who like to justify their existence

>See people mention that nobody really plays SoBs
>"Huh, maybe I'll see what they got."
>Basic squad nearly twice the price of space marines
Fug man, I hope they get some new models soon

Nice meme.

It's a meme? I thought Alpharius was the shortest Primarch and that was why tall SM could body double for him.

That's pretty boring. It would be way better if the AL unit helps the sob to fuck the chaos boredom back to eating shit in the warp in the end of the novel. When it's all over they kill some imperial navy crew and disappear into the darkness with the ship before the imperium forces even have time to think what to do with them. Only the surviving sisters know the truth and makes them doubt about the whole alpha legion are traitor mercenaries thing and how easy to corrupt some parts of the imperium are or something like that depending of the events of the book.
But that ain't gonna happen and we get some sterile book about c&p marine exploits nr 3558363 but this time time they are from the alpha legion guys!1!!!!1111!1!1

You should be shocked Sisters of Battle are actually showing up in something for once.

He's a manlet but the idea that Alpha legion marines are taller than other legions/marines is a meme.

Its canon that Alpharius/Omegon had body doubles, and his 30k rules allow him to be disguised as a regular member of an AL squad, so it isnt far fetched to think some AL Marines are taller than average.

As a long time AL player I can tell you you're wrong.

It's been canon since the old Index Astartes entry in WD way back. The marines are on average taller than any of the other first founding.

Did you forget about Cult of the Warmason? Only came out a few months ago and it starred the Sisters of Battle Struggling against Genestealers before being massacred by a squad of Iron Warriors who were doing a smash n grab in the middle of the Genestealer rebellion Before the only surviving sister is revealed to have been infected by the Patriarch before her escape from the planet.

How does GW explain that? If they get a manlet geneseed shouldn't they also be manlets?

It's AL.

GW haven't got to explain anything.

Not all Alpha Legion are that tall, but on average they tend to be taller than other Astartes.

Meanwhile, Alpharius and Omegon are regularly noted as the manlets of the Primarchs, to the point where several of their own legion are around their height.

Their gene-seed presumably is designed for their purpose: secret work, stealth, disguise, and so on. So the Primarchs are short, but the gene-seed makes them taller and gives them features that resemble their gene-sire far more closely than any other legion.

They likley tweaked their own geneseed to achieve it.

So what god are they working for? Or are they just aiming for it to have an Alpha Legion Planet?

>surviving sister is revealed to have been infected by the Patriarch
tenta-porn when?

They had a pretty good showing in shield of Baal. Even though their leader was killed by deathleaper in book 1, they were the only force to actually hold out long enough to be evacuated.

>How does GW explain that? If they get a manlet geneseed shouldn't they also be manlets?
Their Primarch juice is split between two Primarchlets but if you added them together they'd be bigger than any other single Primarch.

So wait, Alpha Omega is basically just Alpharius riding on the shoulders of Omegon?

>Alpha Legion POV
Will we finally get some concrete characterization for the legion?

Looking forward to seeing something 40k based for them, and seeing Sororitas as the opposition. Hopefully this will mean some unmitigated fanaticism.

Is 'le I am alpharius' not good enough for you?

Adeptus Astartes has been a thing for ages, long before their copyright panic rebranding of everything. Heretic Astartes also has a nice ring to it. It's a hell of a lot better than Astra Militarum.

No

They are in shitty mk4 ugly ass armor without gorgets and thigh plates.

What's up with their color scheme ?

The recent praetorian of Dorn book implies that top ranking AL get modified to be bigger so they can stand in

They genetically modify their guys to look different

Your plot sounds extremely boring and cliche, honestly.

But you don't have a single fact to back that up.

Wearing a Cawl-Pattern Mk X MacDomitus Rain Coat

No, GW said they based the design of the primaris marines on HH armor. the alpha legion are wearing mk 4.
Mk 3 > Mk 4

They're actually Ultra Marines pretending to be an Alpha Legion warband to counter the Heretic plans.

The Alpha Legion was wiped out before the 13th Black Crusade.

The whole planet is a trap.

>they based the design of the primaris marines on HH armor
Mk. 8 isn't HH though, and Mk. X looks like someone smashed Mk. 4 and Mk. 8 together. Not that I'm complaining, those are my two favorite marks.

Better than the book tho

>SoB antagonists

No bully

Why are the Alpha Legion working for Abaddon?

They always have.

Because Abaddon is working for the Alpha Legion.

I would totally adopt her !

I love the Sisters here. Unlike every other picture like this, the sisters are ACTUALLY AIMING THEIR GUNS TO KILL SOMETHING

>flamer bitch going right into that AL who looks totally surprised
>sisters use fire? What the fuck?

Meanwhile, the superior is shooting right at that dudes exposed fucking head. RIGHT AT HIS HEAD like a fucking boss.

Alpharius is alive

They're steadily being returned to the spotlight. They did some cool shit in Shield of Ba'al, and Celestine's one of the main protagonists and one of the better-written characters in Gathering Storm. I'm glad to see GW giving our girls some attention.

THERE'S NO SIZE DIFFERENCE IN ANYTHING BUT THE MODELS REEEEEEE

they do something like drinking a fluid mixed with the primarchs blood so that they resemble him (each other)

Who the fuck knows why the Alpha Legion do the things they do: One day they are helping Abbadon and the next they are smuggling his arms to the Imperium.

>every cell of sororitas apparently have their own celestine
>that, or people are too lazy to draw on their church motive and give them any other personality
