Infinity General -- You stepped into the Wrong Neighborhood Edition

Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where you have to be careful to not be in the wrong side of Svalarheima/Huang Di.

*Ghazi blocks your path*

I use stealth, close Combat, Engineering, long range shooting, Warband units, or literally just resetting to counter them.

Top secret YuJing trash container prototype, model 'Tapir'

I proceed to lose the game.
Fucking. Ghazi.

Talking SunTzu. I haven't played a lot in general yet, and it just dawned on me that the guy fires flash pulses with awesome WIP 17. I like the multi rifle option and want to try him, maybe together with a SMS drone. Is that based?
I guess I'll just have to look for a CoC pheasant in case he fucks up.

>not model 'Taiwan'

Fair and balanced.

Neat.
I keep meaning to post my modular wip table but I gotta use my phone so pictures will be huge. And I'm sure the quality won't be amazing either.

Nice colors user.

Isn't a Tapir the mammal with the longest proportional penis?

>Shock Army of Acontecimento
>Neoterran Capitaline Army
Give me a quick rundown on these sectorials, infini/tg/. Why does nobody seem to care about them in comparison to the Military Orders and vanilla PanO?

Because people like Deus Vult and are attracted to Space Knights. That's why Space Marines are popular in general.

>SAA
Has the best MI link team in the game. Many overall solid troops with Guarda De Assaulto, Regulars, and great unit loans from Aleph like the Naga TO Camo skirmisher. Overall lends to crunchy shooty lists like PanO usually does. Was once a large tournament winner.

>NCA
Just don't take bolts as a core unless you're facing Haqqislam or Tohaa.

Has a very solid base core link with Fusiliers, some neat elites like Locusts. Their Swiss guards are great TO/Camo shooty guys. They overall play into the strengths of elite units like taking an Orc Haris.

At least that's my impression of both of them after facing them a couple of times.

>Bagh mari
>Best in the game

>Naga
>TO camo

i think you mean Dasyus

>with a SMS drone
What's it gonna do, send angry text messages to the opponent?

Well he means Naga, just not TO
SAA gets ava 2 nagas, which are just regular camo

What would you hold above a bagh Mari link?

If you meant the SML drone, no. Flash pulse is just a flashlight to blind people, if you don't have Forward Observer you can't mark targets for missiles.

Janissaries threw me off because the Ayyar's shorter than I expected

I think we need to list all the MI core options to even start that discussion.

PanO
>Bagh, Bolts

YJ
>Doesnt believe in MI

Ariadna
>Scotchguard, Briscards, Maruaders, Grunts

Haqq
>Djanbannans, Druze, Sekban, Lasiqs da fuck???

Nomads
>Wildcats, Moiras

CA
>Rodoks, Yaogats, probably some shasvastii but no one plays them

Aleph
>Earnmorenachos, disqualified.

Tohaa
>Triad, also disqualified

Then there are all the special links that throw characters and other units into the MI core links.

Man I forgot Kaplans and Muyibs are LI.

Could someone post pics of your Infinity minis compared to warhammer ones? The only ones I worked with are stormcast eternals and they are actually pretty big-ass models so I'm a little scared of working with smaller ones. Also I want to see your paint job desu

Here's an old pic I took. Yu Jing and Haqqislam next to some Misc. Warhammer pieces of comparable sizes and painted by the same person.

Another one that's more meant to compare the heavy guys.

>stormcast eternals
While you're here, can you explain the appeal of them, or AoS in general?

Sadly I don't have my painted Infinity models with me at the moment to directly compare some different examples, but I can further show the state of things with models I have on hand, albeit unpainted.

What you'll notice is that models have gradually upscaled since the earlier days to when they started doing Computer Aided Design for all models they made. The 28 mm scale is closer to 30 mm, even reaching up to 35 for some Heavy Infantry.

Overall, even since the early days Infinity models have had their humans more proportionate than GW, closer to "truescale" compared to "Heroic scale" which can mean it's a bit harder to paint for some, or at least, it's something to get used to.

Also a lot more girl models represented in Infinity, for better and worse, usually better.

>infinity RPG
where can I find the cost to acquire a Gecko TAG?

>can you explain the appeal of them
When I started playing AoS I was looking for a cheap wargame. The AoS starter set was not expensive so I decided to do what most newbies are doing desu. Also I have always like the paladin-like aesthetic of heavy armours, big shields and warhammers so they just fit my taste. I also like the idea of mask-helmets - some people say that it makes SCE bland and "golem-like" but in see them as a living vengeance and pure purpose thanks to this. But as I said - it's a matter of taste
>or AoS in general?
I have picked the AoS when the 40k was still a big steamy pile of unbalanced and needless shit that someone would call "rules". I tried it and hate it - form over content etc. I was looking for something fresh, easy to learn and newbie-friendly so I could drag my friends into the hobby and don't fuck with a toxic community. AoS was cheap, new and there was no salty bitching """veterans""" crying about their 20yo armies (most of them were engaged in giving 9th age a chance for 10 minutes and then start playing armada) so the community was friendly as fuck. Then the GHB has come and there was no point to drop the game

Thank you guys. Well, the size difference is definitely noticeable. I'm pretty scared desu

also, how do I calculate Morale and Security?

HAHA TIME FOR MY SHITTY PAINT JOBS

Completely different painting techniques and I swear these look presentable even when holding them a foot away from your face.

And here is the best angle for Infinity models!

>tfw too lazy to set up proper lightbox and your last spess mehreens date your exit from 40k

Pretty sure that stuff will be in a supplementary book.

You just need to take your photos in flattering lighting/angles. Have some Su Jiass.

forgot my picture

aw, ok

No doubt. Had to check my FK after seeing that red dot on his thigh and it is in fact orange like its supposed to be.

Excellent

bump from the booty of the board

Holy fuck I just want to see at least the art or line for the Varuna or Tunguska sectorials already shit even the art of the blackjack will do even I don't play the Ardinia.

Highlight of my Infinity year has been finally seeing what a Nexus looks like.

Now to wait another year before I actually see a model and it'll not be a blister of two or a box of four. I tend to run two in a list since it's such an obvious Lt.

>so I'm a little scared of working with smaller ones
Don't do it, stay in your designated reservation

man I know how you feel. I love how infinity models look like, I even got a few from friends as a gift, but first two tries at assembling them tought me a valuable lesson about me being a plastic man only.

I'll just say this. It isn't all that much to paint Infinity figures. The usual base coat, wash, and highlight works here all the same, something all the better because of the more details to give things texture.

In my opinion it's not harder, it's just different.

>In my opinion it's not harder, it's just different.
Nah it will be harder, since he never tounched 1:28 scale

Yeah, but the newer models are closer to 30mm scale.

I need to finish up that Freebooter gang.

Grunts and possibly Marauders. As strond as Bagh-Mari are, Grunts are both cheaper and hardier and have cheaper sniper rifles. Although they tend to be more defensive than offensive.

Bagh-Mari are probably the second best PanO Core team though, right after Magisters.

>30mm scale.
Still too hard for him.

SAA are lightly armoured jungle fighters, they like their Mimetism and Camo and lack some of the PanO fancier toys, but make up for it with higher WIP and Tikbalang.

NCA are basically "the best of" of PanO and they are very popular. They get cheap Fusiliers link (which is still damn deadly thanks to BS12), Swiss Guard, Auxilia and some ALEPH help like Devas and Garuda that make up for some usual PanO voes. Personally as a vanilla PanO player I like dabbling in NCA the most (in large part because a lot of their units are things I'm already using, like Fusils, Black Friar or Aquila guard).

Yes.

BM are significantly hardier than Grunts. +1 ARM is nice, but it's not even close to the extra protection mimetism provides. Grunts are just a good line troop link with a few fun toys like the burst 2 heavy flamer.

I'd say Rodoks and Marauders are the closest to Bagh Mari. They're both reasonably cheap and have a skill to make them tougher, with a mobility skill and lots of versatile profiles to boot.

Fuck

NCA is essentially vanilla+, with pretty much everything included and even some extras thrown in to compensate for the usual disadvantages.

CB favouritism at its finest.

>no Croc Man
>no Nisse
And that's without the other good stuff like Hospitallers and Cutters.

At last, the full RPG rulebook is finally out. This isn't quite the final version, there's one last round of error-checking before it all goes to print.

>how do I calculate Morale and Security
Morale starts at a given number (usually zero), and you add circumstantial and terrain bonuses to it. You can also spend Momentum to get conditional Morale Soak. Same business with Security/Interference Soak, I believe. BTS, for example, is a flat bonus to Security Soak, while Interference from High-Sec zones is a conditional one.

>where can I find the cost to acquire a Gecko TAG?
Bottom of page 396 (at least in the new version 8.3). Cost is 14+4N. Restriction 4 (3 for Nomads), Tariff T4.

I've got to agree with your points BMs are very hard to take out with both mimetism and the msv. It reduces two of the best tools to deal with links, high burst and vis mods.

To add to your list the gwailo link with special characters also works pretty well.

Nano screens give them a lot of maneuverability and Sheskiin is one of the best shooters in the game.

Gwailos are a lot of fun and pretty much carry the sectorial when it comes to firepower (especially if you don't use Sphinx), but I wouldn't put them up there with Bagh Mari.

Yeah, NCA is more like a Classic PanO+. Some archtypical PanO-units, links and ALEPH supplements.

>Gwailo
Shit what happened to Shasvastii? I used to see people talking about Noctifiers and Aswangs and shit all the time.

Nothing happened. That's the problem. Gwailos have always been the go-to choice, if you want more meat in shasvastiis. Asvangs and Nocts are solo-operators, but G:s are the best link, at least with pretty much no models for Calibans.

Idiot.

You got a better rebuttal then that?

>forgetting Gwailo
DELET THIS

Their wip 15 beats your resetting trooper. Your trooper is now isolated. What do?

Already posted in this thread.

Bring in the Bolts.

The points cost is really what does it for me. Moiras can evenly trade shots with BMs but you are looking at another 30ish points for that link.

As much as i love wildcats, mimetism/msv is a ghetto nisse and thats nothing to sneeze at. Also i will always be mad about the bullshit 2swc hrl

Fix it with an engineer if I really need to spend more than one order on person.

I think they are easier, because the models look better for a lower skill level.

Just use zenith basecoating and thin paints.

Yeah, I've gotten so used to these that I couldn't make a decent 40k model when I tried. The same technics just didn't look good.

Yeah, BM are dangerous.

Whoops, this thread went on for so long and I forgot to say thanks.

Thank you.

Clubmate brought the best thing ever today for our club-terrain. Completely scratchbuilt!

...

'Bordell' means 'brothel' in german, it's just perfect

I honestly cant tell if thats about the proportions of the minis or the need for the marines needing to have been painted with thinned paint.

More like CB minis actually have decent proportions while 40k's minis have always been chunky and cartoony as fuck.

"Tomorrow...Meet the characters!" I wonder what that's supposed to mean with Aristeia!

Did he carve it by hand?

I was actually trying to make a "Thin your paints" post, but I guess the similarity of thinn and thicc confused people.

Probably a reveal of the characters in Aristeia!, duh. I doubt we'll see any actual rules though, just fluff.

With some tool, he still wants to fix the irregularities

> the similarity of thinn and thicc confused people

Yup confused me. Its a nice before/after as far my painting has gone. Marines are nearly straight out of the bottle paint while OIS stuff is about 75% thinner and glaze mediums. Fun fact; the alguacil has purple and gold hair and looks like a holographic/transition color some cars have.

What are your guys favourite ways of using line infantry links outside of the standard ARO and cheerleader garrison?
I just had a very successful game as ISS against vanilla CA, and my core link was Celestial Guard with 2 Spitfires, 2 Forward Observers and a Hacker. I've got a friend who often runs a 5 man link of Alguacile's with no SWC weapons at all and a bunch of specialists and it's still a pain to take on. What other less common tricks can you pull with line infantry links?

I normally play Haqq and SP. But I recently started playing USARF and almost all of my lists featured a Grunt Sniper team with 2-3 Snipers + 2-3 FOs, just as a defensive ARO team - which is something I never did in Haqq or SP. Also I love fielding a lone Grunt LGL Lieutenant just to move up a bit and start Spec Firing her LGL with her LT Order every turn. I've managed to ping off a few enemy troopers here and there, but she's also managed to force troopers to drop Suppression Fire bubbles in the midfield.

Bumping with waifus

Is Aristeia! going to be the GenCon thing? I thought the Steel Phalanx box would be, but they already released that.

Seems like it. But a warcor on the forums said it's not this year's big release though.

I'm hoping for a MO army pack with all new minis

Acon Regulars make a great attack link. Sensor, spitfire, hacker, paramedic, then either another spitfire or a combi.

Have been considerimg this lately. Would make versatile, if squishy link. Too bad there is a limited number of resculpted regulars.

Huh. I could have sworn Molotok Airbirne ranger was already released. Better late than never.
