Hello Veeky Forums, I am a /new/ poster from pre 2010, I have seen shilling for this scam (all crypto currencies are a part of it, the underlying technology being the blockchain) on multiple much lower traffic websites that I frequent and decided to come see what you faggots are up to.
First off, lets get this out of the way first, this is a tool of control, every transaction is permanent and public as long as the blockchain is maintained, if you think this will help you evade taxes while continuing to live in the first world you are a fool. Great effort will be put into untangling this mess because of the crazy amounts of money chasing it and it will be people like you who take it up the ass when the hammer drops.
Second, by legitimizing this you are putting this tool, this ability to track every transaction, into the hands of the same (((people))) who own the various fiat currencies; you not only damage yourself, but put the society at whole at risk of further economic enslavement because of your greed.
Last, you are being directly scammed insofar as you have put real money into a system that is characterized by high volatility, you will never keep up with the people who have been running scams of this nature for literally centuries, they will gut you at the slightest mistake and they don't care how many iterations you have to play with them to do it for the same reason a casino doesn't shut down roulette if one guy gets lucky.
Disclosure: No coiner who invested all of his money into hard capital to start a business providing a real life service that saves more value than it costs when it is needed.

What about the befts of crypto currency? If a centralized crypto is used, we can potentially have answers to fraud and child trafficking causes. Criminal networks will not flourish under legal crypto.

I have been looking at Monero and the concept of a ring signature since it was mentioned in this thread. I am not convinced that it is not vulnerable and I think it unlikely that any crypto with real anonymity would be met with anything short of extreme opposition on the part of the governments of this world.
If it could be implemented and used as described on a large enough scale it may work, but I am skeptical of the claims of anonymity in the long run and if that anonymity ever failed it would expose anyone using it to ruin.
Also it could be argued under existing US law that such a thing is inherently a money laundering scheme and they could just prosecute everyone using it without a single legislative change.
