Why does a knight have a need for a tiny fencer who is no larger then a pistol tho? I thought it was realistic thread!

thats pretty badass , is that a painting?

And half his left leg is invisible; clearly magic. Not realistic!

No, it's one of the world's earliest colored photographs.

Yep, it's from a spanish painter called Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau.

Most of his paintings are about military stuff, old or modern.

forgot pic

>Shoulderpads extend to enclose neck

How does he move his arms?

>thats pretty badass , is that a painting?
No, it's a .jpeg.

There he goes again with his dwarf-assistant knights! And a bunch of disjointed heads! Is this character creation screen wtf?

Anybody got any good stuff depicting late 14th to mid 15th century?

>when a nigga says rapiers are only for dueling

Unarmed shenanigans, user.

Besides that looks like the armour of something like a demi-lancer. He'd have been carrying a pair of pistols and a lance on horseback.

Dude on the left thinks the dude on the right farted, but it was actually mr. curly hair that did it.

Question: why were shields made concave like this (from the opponent's perspective)?

Is it to guide the sword thrust into the shield and not off the shield/into the gut of the wielder?

Bingo. Check out the sword-catchers these assholes are using.

That's not Greek tho that's samnites. The text talks about them and says that the picrelated is closer to a typical samnite look circa 350 BC while there were more Greek-influenced outfits, though later on.

>t. insecure faggot who can't battle along real men
Actual life and death warriors were flamboyant as fuck before the modern age of pussies like you scared that a little style will draw people's attention to how much you don't match up.

The pauldrons are jointed.

Gotcha, thanks! The hook-spikes on those shields make sense in that way too. If your shield catches your opponent's weapon it won't move for a moment, which can be all you need to survive/kill them.

So was there a reason for the long shoes?

Anyone have a repository for some actual heraldry of knights? Wanna put some historical paintjobs on my 30k knights.

wappenwiki is a good source

IRL armour can be a form of art too

>Fantasy armor
>Cooler than that

In what universe?

Wow that chest armor does fuck all. Blows will just glance off and hit the unprotected areas which also happen to be tons of vitals.

What's with the cross?
