>"rolling" a character
???

Why is this a problem

>>guy rolls a male character
>>name ends with -a

I don't get it. Explain the joke.

KURISUTIIIIIIIIINA!

i dont get it

Don't worry, I've seen this quite often.
By now there is a very evolved meme of using an anime avatar to complain about some inexplicable thing to create the impression that the complained-about concept is an objectionable idea somehow.
There must be some deep psychological trait that spurs this behavior, potentially the anime avatar is an important clue.

His first name is Nicolei right?

Nikola (orig. Hикoлa) actually

>how dare a female character's name end in the most common feminine ending in a well-known root language

>potentially the anime avatar is an important clue
It's no mystery at all. The anime pic is posted literally to bait people into /a/ discussion, which then leads to multiple posts of "SOURCE!?" or "Moeblob-chan is cute. CUTE!"

>guy rolls a male character
>name doesn't end with -us

>name ends with e
Ugh.

That's one theory, but it still doesn't account for the strange choice of nonissue to bring up.
If it was only to bait into anime talk then the greentext would be uneccesary. For example, teh "This is ___________, say something nice about her" posts are like what you describe.

>BBEG

Ugh

>name ends

Ugh

that does rustle my jimmies actually

...

>guy rolls a female character
>has name

>name continues forever

>Prince/Princess of a non-monstrous race
>'Extremely handsome/beautiful'
I've never seen a game where a youthful member of the royal family is unattractive for any reason. Next time I have a Princess in one of my games, I want to make an ugly but kind one.
C-Context?

...

>Ranma

I know this might sound magical realm, but I make a point of making royalty from various kingdoms (about 1/3rd) ugly, incestuous and dumb. Mostly because I like the trope of Victorian style royalty who are ugly inbreeds trying to make themselves up and passing off as beautiful, high-class people. While, in reality, being no different than their common subjects.

The context is that she's a yandere; it's a common yandere trope for the girl to bake you cookies or brownies or whatever, but to also put a bit of her blood (or even spit/hair) in the food, cause she's fucking crazy.

>That's one theory, but it still doesn't account for the strange choice of nonissue to bring up.

The nonissue is to act as a cover so OP can claim that the thread is Veeky Forums-related. It also works to bring in bumps (or at least replies) from people who want to point out what a dumb non-issue it is.

>guy rolls a russian character
>name doesn't end with -an or -in

>Alexa?

She's not fucking crazy, I am.
Badum tish

It gets me Alex is a girl's name now.

It gets me that no matter where I go, I can't seem to escape this name anymore. Porn, tv, vidya games, and now even Veeky Forums. How the shit am I supposed to forget her when the universe seems to be actively fighting me?

That would depend on the language of the culture in which the character received the name. It's not hard to imagine one where the -a stem is exclusively feminine.

Boris, Vladimir, Nikita, Josef, Mikhail, Nikolay, Leonid, Anastas, Vasili, Yuri, Andrei, Lev, Dmitry...

Seriously, it's harder to come up with names that end with -an or -in.

Well, it could be short for either Alexander or Alexandra, so I don't see a big problem there.

What do you have against Igor?

Okay? Are you autistic?

I'll make a edgy loner princess with a scar, katana, eye-patch and doesn't play by the rules

>implying she wouldn't be conventionally attractive anyways
My problem with edgy isn't that it goes too far- it's that it doesn't go far enough. If you gave me a samurai princess who decided to give up on playing at pretty princess and just got invested in kicking ass, I could get behind that.
The princess doesn't have to be a nothing perssonel to do that, either. She could just be really good at fighting and gotten her wounds over a series of battles. She could be rude and impulsive but kind when it comes down to it, or listen to the party when nobody else is because she's used to taking advice from her 'inferiors'.

Nikola

Just make a one-armed, halberd-using red-head with a ponytail that gets away with it because she has retard strength.

yeah but she would still be hot though

>Isabella
>Henrietta
>Hanna
>Geneva
>Shaniqua
>Latifa
>Linda
>Andrea
>Shanaynay...a

Yeah, just recently finished reading it, could have used one more chapter as a epilogue but was otherwise pretty decent for what it was. Rook was king of shit taste.

I might as well post the clean version of the cover.

>guy rolls a dwarf character
>last name is some dumb shit like Grumble Axebattle

>rolls an elf character
>name is full of senseless "fancy" syllables like Prettyon Fallafelel

>rolls an orc character
>name is something like Crocs Kingkrong

>guy rolls a gnome character
>at all

Wait, do people actually play characters of opposite genders?

How the fuck do you roleplay that without descending into weird shit?

Steingutter Flintchalkson
Ithyreaeille Auroraswhispyr
Ghrunggt Bluddzug
Stupendro The Phantasmulous

I can only think of Ivan and Valentin. Russian male names have little common parts, except for -slav maybe (Vladislav, Yaroslav, Stanislav), but these are somewhat obscure.

...

>Gaylord makes a post on tg
>ends with -a
U suck

Biggus Dickus

>Guy rolls 3d6
>gets number between 3 and 18

You act like a dude with a vagina, because that makes for a good female character according to the majority of nerds I know.

...

By not being a sperglord? That's like asking how you play a dwarf.
I play weird shit regardless, so I just don't worry about it.

You son/daughter of a bitch/panda

>player is handed character sheet
>makes character

wtf

...

roleplaying is weird anyway. Just narrate in third person like a normal human being.

>guy rolls a shota character
>doesn't end every sentence with -icus

>Prettyon Fallafelel
Sounds delicious.

>guy rolls a dragonborn character
>randomly picks words out of a turkish dictionary for names

>Victorian style royalty
>Not Hapsburg
They are literally the original inbred European nobility, user.

>player rolls a thri kreen
>name doesn't consist of high pitched clicking noises

Axebeard Beardaxe or Beardaxe Axebeard are the only acceptable dwarf named

How about Axeaxe Beardbeard?

That is the character's father
The grandfather is Axebeardaxe Beardaxebeard

And remember to phrase it using 'would' rather than the present tense, e.g "Black Leaf would cast Control Thoughts on the alt-left protesters"

Kára is a perfectly good name you fucktard

As are Anna, Lisa, Katarina, Kristina, Ulla, Ylva Emma, Ronja, Anja, Selma, Lina, Katja, Ramona, Andrea, Lotta, Mia, and Henrietta.

I just use words in foreign languages, I always equated Welsh with Elves, which generally works.

Names of Fiends and Demons are Hungarian, right?

>Character has a pet horse
>names it something serious instead of something goofy like boggles

I personally like Azerbaijani but Hungarian could work. The only real one I haven't found a match for is Orcish, I generally equate Gaelic with dwarves, and Slavic languages don't really seem right for Orcish.

What about Mongolian?

>guy rolls a female character
>name ends with -a

OK, fine, OP. How >do< we solve a problem like Maria?

...

By making him a man, of course. It's a very manly name, after all.

...

>guy rolls a character
>it has a name

>Obviously male name, but with an a at the end
This is the actual problem

>guy rolls a cute girl character
>name doesn't end with (male)

TARKUS! TAAAAARRRKKKUUUUUUUSSSSSS!

Image search returns nothing, I request sauce, please?

Enjoy my man

Much obliged, now I just have to look up how to defeat that guardian panda again...

"Quercus" is feminine...

...and "nauta" is masculine.

Checkmate.

Vietnamese

>guy rolls a black female character
>name ends with -a and starts with La the dash don't be silent

...

U tlkn shit m8

Replace the x in exhentai with a dash. Works 80% of the time, all the time

>character gets genderswapped
>they just add an -a to their name

>Chronicle of Ballsack

Looks interesting though, redheads with polearms is an oddly specific fetish of mine.

I blame Titania.

Name's Kelishaaa, spelled with tripple a. There was... a series of arcane mishaps.

Baiken never fails to make my heart erect.
