"You can CLEARLY tell that the man you are talking to is thinking"

Technically you can do this in MnM 3e:

>Affliction Will Dazed/Compelled/Controlled
>Check Required: Deception
>Area Perception: Hearing
>Descriptor: Talent

mfw I had a world-ending villain taken out by a Persuasion version of this power because I just got sick and tired of me being of bad GM

In the end, I did the only thing reasonable: begin construction of a perfect 1:1 scale replica of all of creation. If I can make a flawless fake of anything, then I will forge the works of god

"I KNEW it!"

I don't see a problem with this.

Fuck he stole the second line.

>max out strength

sometimes, depending on the chillnes of the group i am dming for, ill give players unique (sometimes) magic abilities tied to either their highest stat or given to them by their deity or stolen from some other character (usually a villain). kinda like a blessing, but with some added ability as well.

IIRC in 3.5 you could walk on clouds with very high balance checks, so

10/10
damn nice

>max out balance stat
>can never move voluntarily
>can never be unbalanced
>die from holding breath

"You can clearly tell that the man you are talking to is NOT thinking"

There is nothing wrong with that, especially in a high-magic setting.

Okay, that's pretty good.

You're just jealous

Serious question: is this the best way to make a Purple Man/Killgrave character?

that and persuaion, seduce, intimidation, ... basically all the charisma skills that dont really require any other action than communicating

gut bacteria are mindless and can't be affected by mind-effecting affects like charm or diplomacy

>you'll never be such an absolute madman that you nuke a continent for a sick knife

Based Redguards

>max out int
>big bang

I believe the Redguard in question nuked a continent WITH a sick knife

The knife nuked places just by existing so you could define it either way.

A knife that just makes nuclear explosions would also be a pretty fucking incredible magic item for a campaign to be centered around.

>get to the knife so you can create the concept of mutually assured destruction

>seeing the truth is going insane

>max out Appraise
>become race realist

No, the Redguard in question was a Sword Saint, meaning he could summon an energy sword using only the power of his mind. Using a dangerous forbidden technique called 'the pankratosword' he split the "atomos" and caused a nuclear explosion. The 'knife' in question did not create explosions just by existing, and because it was just a psychic projection by the Redguard wielding it, it technically never existed at all.

I thought the whole idea was that the knife was SO SHARP that it split molecules.

"splitting the atomos" is assumed to be "splitting the atom" aka causing a nuclear explosion. However, this only occurs when using the pankratosword technique, as other Redguards Sword Saints were able to wield their psychic swords without blowing up entire countries.

>Sword so hard you can sword without a sword
>Sword so hard you can have a fucking god back the fuck off by simply assuming the stance for your continent-sinking technique

I mean, Vivec was a LIVING god, which meant he could presumably be at least hurt if not killed. Cyrus (although it was a bluff) was essentially threatening him with a nuclear detonator. That'd be like someone holding you at gunpoint with a cannon. You don't know if it's loaded, but you do know it would hurt like hell to be shot by a cannonball, so maybe it's not worth it to find out.

not the truth, user.
the TRUTH

So, at the end of the day, we can all agree that anybody that invents or employs a technique that causes a nuclear explosion right in front of you when you create a magic knife is a 10/10 fucking crazy person that deserves your respect.

Yes.

No.
