FIRST FOR CUTEDAR

>painting black on black

NANI?

Patiently waiting to see if Steel Legion rumors are bullshit before I order 10 squads from Z.

I need cannon fodder for my Warhawks and Templars

What's the pro's and con's to Tyranids compared to Orks?

*plays fabius bile*
omae wa mou shindeiru

Trying to get back into everything since dropping out midway through 6th edition.

So the indexes are stop gaps until they release 8th edition codexes?

Link?

Reposting from old thread:

So, I bought a Giant Chaos Spawn from FW, but I'm not sure the best way to get him into my chaos army. I was thinking taking a small daemon patrol detachment.

I can't take him in the same detachment as my CSM if I want the legion trait right?

‘If your army is Battle-forged, all Daemon Prince, Infantry, Bikers and Helbrute units in Chaos Space Marine Detachments gain a Legion Trait, so long as every unit in that Detachment is from the same Legion.’

Since my GCS can't join a legion, he needs to be in a separate detachment, right?

meme response aside, chaos black and abbadon black have slightly different shades when they dry, leaving obvious streaks. This is easily fixed by just painting EVERYTHING abbadon black first.

Correct, make it Tzeentch for a 4++, bring the changeling for -1 to hit

Basically yeah. The indexes are so everyone can still play without a codex since they changed so much of the core rules.

Necron codex when?!?!

Fix the fucking armies you broke ffs...

And are the rule changes...positive, average, negative?

forgeworld.co.uk/en-BE/Thousand-Sons-Legion-Osiron-Pattern-Contemptor-Dreadnought-2017

Is this beautiful motherfucker playable in 40k?

Speaking of such, does anyone know of a spray primer that is the same color (or damn close to it) of the vallejo black? I'm fine with painting over figures with black but going over Land raiders with it seems like a waist of time.

I've only got Nurgle daemons. Disgustingly resilient will still be helpful for making him more... resilient.

are wraith heavy lists still WAACfaggotry? And what are the chances that all brands of eldar are consolidated into the ynnead faction?

Yes
It's called a helbrute
Not when shot with a d6 weapon

Thoughts on kommandos for 8th?
Yet to try them

For what, user?

I wasn't aware wraiths were all that good at all in 8th.

>what are the chances that all brands of eldar are consolidated into the ynnead faction?

absolutely none.

>It's called a helbrute

ah, so contemptor dreadnoughts aren't a thing in 40k?

Are these brushes good for painting infantry? About to buy my first start collecting box and I'm trying to save a little cash by getting some basic supplies elsewhere. Also is the normal acrylic paint at a place like Michael's good enough or should I really get Gw for that? I know some people use army painter but I didn't see it there, they just had folk art brand. Thanks guys!

Oh, I didn't know about the streaks. Thanks for the tip.

guys, what's wrong with 1d4chan?

Is D6 mortal wound smite on a 10+ or 11+? Why do smite modifiers say, "instead of D6 mortal wounds on 10 or more" rather than "11 or more"?

There are chaos contemptors in the forge world index. Not sure why he said to play it as a helbrute.

Well they aren't going to do as good as a quality brush obviously, but if you're halfway decent they should be fine for just doing the rank and file. I use cheap shit brushes and they work just fine for me.

Heresy-resistance training.

here, this is my talos, with my not having fixed up by painting the rest of the blade abbadon black.

Nothing but armchair generals and memes

>p2w shot

>Not when shot with a d6 weapon
He's like 74 points. If someone is going to waste a lascannon on him, that's their damn problem.

So the size is ok for all the fine details on infantry characters? Which brush material is better? I don't know the difference.

I need more cute Sisters of Silence!

Just use Neophytes you hack

QQQQQQQT!!

Smite itself says greater than 10

written in more legible terms

if castingValue > 10
causeD6MortalWounds
else
causeD3MortalWounds

How does one write Space Marines?

Personally I like to see them as lacking in core emotions like empathy and sorrow and love which makes conversing with regular humans awkward though they are mostly oblivious to it.

Thoughts?

Which of these CSM lists do you think is better? I like them and will probably build them both over time, but would like some thoughts on either one.

the steel legion rumour was based on the 7 second video which turned out to be hype for Necromunda.

...

Cheap brushes are fine.
I wouldn't gamble on cheap paint though. If you thin your paint properly you won't go through it that quickly.

I don't have that many, sadly.

You can do it, solider!

But smite modifiers say "instead of D6 mortal wounds on 10 or more" which are clearly referring to the basic smite.

because Magnus and other strong psykers are gonna fuck your shit up

Wraiths are strong. Wraithguard are one of the best units in the codex beside Hemlocks and Dark Reapers.

CWE suffer from lack of horde killing right now. Otherwise they're good.

Michael's paints are horrid.

Their brushes are fine, but I'd still go for citadel brushes.

Haven't posted the Kriegers in a while. Urban camo

I've used those exact brushes, the really thin ones are too flimsy to work with, I've found, but the slightly thicker ones get the job done reasonably well.

used one of them for the details on WIP pic related

next year

If you are going to get a value pack I would suggest one with some variety in brush sizes. Get one with a brush with a very thin and short point. Those kind of value packs generally don't have the best quality, that's why they come in a pack of a couple of brushes for just a few dollars. They work just fine, honestly you don't really need expensive brushes. Some people will tell you that you will get better results with them, and in all honesty you would, but those are an investment that might be better made down the line when you've learned a bit more. You might have better luck asking in WIP i'm sure there would be some of them who would be happy to give you a detailed explanation. To be honest I don't know all of the particulars by heart. Like i said, i use mostly shit brushes with only one or two nice ones, and I picked those up because I was told they would be better by a professional not because I understood why.

Michael's paints aren't horrible; but they're not for miniatures

Is a haemonculus coven army possible and/or viable?

fluff-wise? Yes.

competitively? No.

Smite still says >10. None of the smite modifiers are altering the base version of smite to do d6 on 10+ in fact, most are making it only do 1 wound.

Also TIL that astropaths cast the d3 version of smite for some stupid reason but warlocks still get stuck with half-range, 1Mortal wound smite. Fuck Imperium.

MOST PAINTTESTED EDITION EVER?!

Event he best give in, user.

wow. no curves. just fridge mode

You get 2 guardsmen for every Neophyte.

I play Steel Legion and Templars as well.

...

space marines work well in bolter porn form, think 80s action heros

>and lo the Angels of Death burst through the wall to smash some heretics
>With precision droned into them a decade ago fighting in the deathless mines of Bruplu 56 Sergeant Brutus punched through a traitor marine's helmet while putting shots into the face of another.

slut

Taloi and Chroni are both overcosted and ineffective at what they used to do

Haems are great

grots and wracks are infantry murderers, but struggle to kill bigger things.

their best weapons are ossefactors and liquifiers...who unfortunately lack the strength to wipe out big shit.

Oh wow dude that's awesome! Looks great!

>my WIP is *immediately* made an OP

N-NANI?!

Thanks, good brush control can compensate for bad brushes in places, but it also helps to be Johnny on the Spot about cleaning up when you mess up.

Make his chest hair in the shape of an Aquilla

I would think Gee Dubs would make a coven 'detachment' or maybe even there own codex hopefully, I mean death guard and thousons are getting their own

>this recently trending cutedar shit
>reminds me of the cancer that killed off /wowg/ threads
>hug a worgen today! panda butts!

Must you autists do this everywhere you go? We get it, you like _thing_ to excessive levels.

Please keep it to yourselves.

What are people thinking for Plague Marine loadouts?

Ranged seems simple, 2 Blight Launchers and a Plasma on the champ.

Melee I'm think Axes with a few Flails. Maces are definitely garbage, Cleavers I'm not sure about.

Damn, I wish I'd had that idea earlier. Too late now...I can't get a tool into that spot to properly shape a skull.

>Angry poorfag.

But smite in the brb is clearly a typo, because ALL the smite modifiers refer to a D6 10+ smite that they're modifying.

>recent

I always take an image from the end of the last general. Yours was the first interesting one I came across while scroling up.

Don't feel special.

Any fan codexes out yet? Cuz I'm tempted to gift a box of these guys to my friend.

I think dark eldar are going to get their own codex, with stratagems/artifacts for playing as covens, kabals, or wych cults...or possibly a mix of the 3

Magnus makes smite deal more damage on a 10+ instead of D6 on a 10+, meaning basic smite is D6 on a 10+.

I have the same view as you for melee, but I didn't realize you could get 2 blight + plasma in a 7 man squad

you're forgetting one thing user. GW doesn't care about the true kin. We aint gonna get SHIT. At least most of our stuff already looks aces.

yes, recent. Before Ynaari and 8th, you didn't see this shit.

Gods I hope so.

Still not expecting a codex until next year.

Agreed our shit is tight as fuck booooi.

Generally not a great painter, and while I really like having my models finished and there's satisfaction to having done it myself, I'm not a big fan of doing the actual painting. Hence things get a bit rushed at times and I've resigned to being a bit sloppy. However, I kinda feel like Death Guard don't need to be super clean? I dunno, I just hope these don't look like embarrassing ubershit.

me neither. thankfully, they're fine as is.

i thought thosr theeads doed becaise their wasnt enough THE AZEROTH (titan) porn

They better not stick those traitor fuck Yannari in our codex! Or it shall be the day I finally "REEEEEEEEE!!!"

I see a few mold lines that everyone will over hype more than likely. By I like the scheme and it looks gritty enough m8.

If I were to run an army of assassins in vanguard detachments what HQs should I be taking? I only really have space marines, with Inquisitor Greyfax and one Tempestor Prime.
Although a dozen assassins running forward screaming surrounding a chaplain dreadnought sounds funny as fuck

This isn't recent at all. Cute 40k pictures have been going back longer than you've been on the internet. Nobody cares because nobody is an autist like you getting mad over people having fun. It's literally just an excuse to post pictures; why do you care? This picture, for example is dated in my folder as 28th September 2012. And I sure as fuck didn't get it Day 1.

they might have to since Ynnari only have 3 units of their own.

Are there any options for when your trying to show just how different they are to regular humans when it comes to basic interactions?

>Muhreenus stood before the Townspeople he saved from the Greenskin scum, their faces a mix of relief and fear, seeing a man lose an arm to a Ork and continue fighting without so much as a scream.

>They had tried to shower the Angel with gifts as thanks, but the Astartes cared not, for the gift of fighting humanities foes had been the greatest of all

> The Townspeople felt a strange hollowness as the Astartes marched to the next Settlement, this was their lost son, who they had given up to the anvil of gods, the metal used to forge such demigods was called humanity, each pound of the hammer called war changed the shape of the metal, still made from the same component, but so ingrained with alien hatred that its new form is utterly incomprehensible to mortal men

Thoughts?

ARE THOSE SPACE DWARVES

Average, leaning towards positive.

Newfag that's never played with/painted/owned a model before. Pretty big fan of Tzeentch. I only play Thousand Sons right?
If that's the case - what do I pick up if I'm primarily interested in the painting/model aspect but would like to realistically play with my army aswell? I know the obvious answers like Rubics, Magnus, Ahriman.

Thanks friends

not sure if the rusted metal look is on purpose but it looks fitting.
I'm pretty bad at painting myself, I always get at least a few posts pointing out what I did wrong but I usually end up trying to use it to improve.

INDEED THEY ARE. Mantic Games called the Forge Fathers for their wargame Warpath. I'm about to make some Squats for 8th

tzeentch daemons are pretty good, too.

Thanks, user! Glad the gritty effect came off. I have precious little time to actually work on stuff so a lot slips under my radar, but I'm really just going for tabletop that I wouldn't be ashamed to put out.
