>The convenience store doesn't sell dice

Try having the cheapest dice in local stores cost 5-10 euros (1-2 workhours for me).

Why would it sell dice?

>Local bookstore has incredibly limited RPG selection. It's D&D or nothing.
>Nearest FLGS is focused on warhammer, MTG, and used board games.

>5-10 euros (1-2 workhours for me)
I thought the Euro-poor thing was a meme. That's like half the minimum wage in the states.

Shit nigga, how much does your europoor economy eat in socialist taxes, that a manhour is so little?

>Not every system/boardgame uses d6
I know it shouldn't bother me, but it does. All the annoying fiddly dice you never use for anything else.

Uh, I don't know, maybe because CONVENIENCE is right there in the name? Sure is INCONVENIENT for me to have to drive all the way to some specialty store for dice.

>7.25 USD per hour is US minimum wage
>5 Euros is 6.98 USD
What shit country do you live in?

>7.25 USD per hour is US minimum wage
Not that standard. It varies based on what state you live in.

It is the absolute minimum for an adult worker set by the government for any state in the union. Some states may have it higher, but none have it lower. Therefore it is the US minimum wage.

>americans and their "living" wage talking shit about Europe.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to burst the blisfull bubble you are living in, the truth would be too harsh for you.

You're not going to burst any bubbles. Everyone knows what PPP is.

It's still surprising to hear.

>Go to the only game shop in town
>Warhammer, mtg, and yougeeohfaggot stuff everywhere
>" Any d&d stuff?"
>Nah but I can order you something specific if you want
>Ask for 3.5 strongholds book
>He literally goes to Amazon and then marks it up 10 bucks
I thank him and leave.
>Motherfucker...I can order from Amazon you dickhead.
>Bitch about it for years
>Game shop changes owner..
>I'm still triggered.
>Refuse to go in
>I'm even hate the building now

>not factoring in living costs alongside minimum wage

A low minimum wage doesn't matter if rents, food, and utilities are all affordable.

Elves.

My bubble is extra tough. My bubble grew up on a farm in Texas. Come at my bubble.

Is your bubble also larger than most others, because everything is bigger in Texas?

No but if you ask my bubble it will tell you yes.

Well I am only taxed 15% on account of it being a student job.
Otherwise the minimum wage is 500 and the average is 1100 so 3,1-5,2euros per hour if you assume 20day work weeks at 8 hours per day. This is all net of course, as non-student jobs are taxed 20-50%, unless you own an independent business or are employed through it (complicated stuff) in which case you're paid 100% but you pay your own insurance, pension plan etc etc. Is pretty good though, medical care and schooling is all free.

It varies from 7.25, the federally set minimum, to above 7.25.

I should mention I live in a Balkan country though, so if you look at France, Germany, and especially Switzerland, those per-hour marks might be anywhere from 3 to 10 times ours.

Oh and the country is Slovenia, come visit if you're ever in Europe, it's beautiful! And cheap for you, apparently!

...

>show up to session one and someone is playing an elf

Sours the whole campaign for me.

Ah that makes sense. Well enjoy your free schooling/medical care. Ontario is moving towards free schooling but it'll be a while if we even make it there, and our medical system does not cover as much as it should (No dental or optometry outside of emergencies among other things)

I live in Las Vegas. Convenience stores sell dice here.

>Go to store for treat
>They sell ice cream
>Isn't dice cream

>marks it up 10 dollars

God that's funny

>Game uses weird, special dice that are horribly gimmicky
Alternatively
>I'm the only GM in the group who is willing to do horror

Thank you for our beautiful FLOTUS. She is well spoken and kind hearted.

Well... she is beautiful, I'll give you that. Or was, before the unneeded plastic surgeries.

She looks great, not sure what "surgeries" you're talking about here.

Minimum is $9.35 in Colorado

Our standard of living expenses are like 3 times greater than most places too, though.

I hope that scares off the potheads moving here.

But never lower than 7.25 an hour, as that is how federal laws work.

>jobs are taxed 20-50%,
>medical care and schooling is all free.

So... not really, huh.

Did you see amazons Web page.????
That's super funny.
My gaming store was the same. 3 weeks to make an order and the guy never cleaned up or opens on time.
No wonder it failed, guy bitched about the town not supporting local gaming stores on facebook

I used to have a picture of her from her high school days from a guy I met on a forum that partied with her I'll see if I can find it. You'll see what I'm talking about.

Well, imagine that taxation and it not being free!

>Runs a shit shop
>As a consumer it's better to order online
>Shop blames the consumer

Figures.

Actually mine does, although it's only regular 6 sided dice

GM killing PCs based on singular rolls.

Under some circumstances, that isn't a bad thing.

>He literally goes to Amazon and then marks it up 10 bucks
Thos ten dollars are the cost of the time you asked him to waste by going to Amazon and ordering the book for you, dealing with the hassle of online ordering for you, dealing with Amazon's bullshit returns policy if you get mailed the wrong thing FOR YOU.

I would have charged you twenty.

under 90 percent of circumstances, that is a bad thing. really unless it's some horror game where it's clear from the start that you can die anytime.
certainly never in high adventure.

>certainly never in high adventure
High adventure has always had instagib moments. Any "ancient ruin filled with deadly traps" comes to mind.

>People under 30 are allowed in the LGS

He has a point though.
Most convenience stores sell playing cards in some variety, why would it be such a big leap to sell a pack of d6s, the most widely used die in gambling and board games.

sure they.
especially the kind that roll a lot of 5's and 2's

My local CVS sells d6s. As I only play GURPS it works out for me.

There's always that one guy at every LCS who spends way to much time reading online forums who is convinced that crunch is evil, narrative is the end all and people play games other than Magic/PF/5e.

>High adventure has always had instagib moments
If being a hero/adventurer was safe and easy... everyone would do it.
This is as it should be. There's a reason the realms aren't full of lv 35 wizards and druids.

I dunno. Even in the case of most traps, its still reasonable to have rolls involved to spot it, avoid it, and then resist the effects. While most characters are only gonna be good at one or two of those things, it does make it so a very unlucky roll could be counteracted by a very lucky one

what kind of fucking attitude is that?
thats the kind of thing you expect from a shitty temp.
You should sell it to them at cost and apologize for not having it in the first place.

I mean seriously, its like you've never heard of product leasing, buying in bulk or retailer discounts. Hell, some suppliers are so eager to sell their product they will come over to your store and set up a kiosk!

For that matter, why not buy 50, and lease them to sellers for a cut of the profit? It doesn't cost them anything but floorspace to set up a display, and at the end of the sellers lease you just come back, pick up any books that haven't sold and take you're cut.

Lol...I didn't buy it.

He looked it up, gave a price, I refused.

You mean dice sets, right? Not actual dice? Cause a single dice over here at the cheapest can be like 0.25 USD

The biggest convenience store chain in my area carries packs of d6s.

Aren't you a lucky boy!

Some math programs still use them to teach probability so I was expecting a tube of the cheapest dice ever in the school/office or board games section at big box.

The minimum wage here is $4USD/Hour but the middle class cost of living is just $700/Month.

>a-at least we have """""""""free""""""""" healthcare literally """"""""zero"""""""""" gun crime haha

You could get taxed to keep urban youths from having to work and still have to play for quality education and any sort of medial aid, and absolutely refuse to tax the richest.
Like America who really should shut up about other countries' tax policies..

This is why I'm not sad that "brick and mortar" retail is dying.

Yes yes of course, 7 dice. Otherwise it would be way too expensive.

It's true tho.

because they dont hold their money in our nation, it's all foreign banks for them.

> LGS doesn't stock even super mainstream stuff like official WotC dnd 5e shit
> Tomb of Annihilation available "definitely before November" for ~$70

hurr durr what are wholesalers, don't all retail stores buy their stock from other retailers?
