Topic of the day: How are Helots going to be implemented in the game?
Henry Richardson
>base profile is 18 points Ehh, still not great.
Luke Ross
Well, there are three options. PanO slaves, Tohaa slaves, or no inclusion in game at all. Pick your poison.
Aiden Rodriguez
Why does everyone keep gluing that Hector arm wrong? He's supposed to rest the sword on his shoulder, not scratch his back with it.
They won't.
That's cheaper than base Kamau. It would actually make Kamau look bad. 2pts less for more ARM, Veteran, Bioimmunity and a DTW at a cost of Mimetism. That's not a bad trade. And it would emphasize their "close range brawler" role. Even Wildcats are 19pts base and they are touted as the better Bolts.
Also Drop Bears shouldn't be 1pt per mine, but at 21pts the Drop Bear profile would be a lot easier to swallow.
Andrew Morales
>Why does everyone keep gluing that Hector arm wrong?
His arm just fit better that way. I remember fiddling with the angle, but wasn't particularly happy with any of the alternative ones, so went with the studio style.
Blake Smith
Morats confirmed for having small dicks
Elijah Martin
>literal demigod >asian >morat Made me think.
Joshua Hughes
>tfw no gurkha units can you play as one in the RPG?
Kevin Jackson
Most probably.
William Foster
>bioimmunity, veteran and ARM is better than Mimetism and MOV

You omitted DTW and Drop Bears. Kamau are long range fighters, Bolts are supposedly built for CQC and dominating mid-field. Light shotguns are a needlessly expensive addition on Combi Rifles, but Chain-Colts would make the Bolt link not as pricey and better suited for their role. You wouldn't have to fill the link with BSGs to make the Spitfire work without breaking the bank. And one of their Specialist profiles comes with a BSG and E/M Grenades anyway, which are good to have in a link – but 18pts Combi + Chain-Colt filler is always better than 19pts Shotgun one.
Wyatt Jones
Drop bears are for a single profile. Close combat unit are cool, but slower movement hamper them a bit for that.
Shotgun profile have E/M grenades, which make him more versatile.
Brayden Reed
On an 18pts base Drop Bear profile would be 21pts. Which would make that very easy to fit in a link. So far Kamau don't have a link option, which greatly limits their usability. They are still great at those few roles they cover (HMG/HRL/Hacker), but they will really see greatness once they get Fireteam: Core. Bolts are already in a Core and that Core is meh. The E/M grenades are nice, but the fact that their signature profile (Drop Bears) is so hampered stings.

Belhold! Robot-kitten butt.
Easton Morales
How's the quality of REM models made pre-Icestorm? I assume they're sculpted by hand, but does their scale fit with the new CAD models?
Cooper Rogers
Can anyone recommend some replacement models I could over over the default Zeros for Nomads? I don't mind the look of the Hacker. But the rest of them look super old and goofy. Also is there anywhere I can get some CrazyKolas just them?
William Foster
Akali come close enough as Indian balls to the walls guys. Otherwise, the Bagh-Mari.
Matthew Garcia
Anyone happen to have the Neoterran Bolt dossier picture?
They're robots! They're right scale by default. Stop making mountains out of molehills.
>inb4 this is a fresh meme bait
Camden Reyes
>helmet has holes for her twintails Or did they have to customize that helmet for her?
Gavin Jackson
do you ever field units just because the models are cool or cute?
Luis Howard
Since the old Rasyat models are old. Do you guys think anyone would care / notice if I just used some Tiger Solders but with some diffident heads? I was looking at them and they aside from being way better models look kind of like Rasyats already.
Benjamin Ortiz
She doesn't have any, they're part of the helm.
Eli Myers
For Haqqislam: Hunzakut and Muttawi'ah. Doesn't hurt that they're good in the game either.
For Yu Jing: Kempeitei combi-rifle, Pheasant Rank Red Fury, Ninjas/Oniwabans of all types. and Tiger Soldiers.
I think some would notice, as the armor style is less blocky and angular than modern Morat armor, as well as being less beefy, but most wouldn't or shouldn't care about your minor conversion.
I've always had the minor impression that uniforms are custom scaled to the user, thus the different gun sizes, and common appearance of boob plate and pony tails sticking out.
All the remotes look good next to each other, except maybe Dakini
Brandon Barnes
no I only field good units what are you 12?
Jeremiah Collins
I dunno man, I'm a new player and the scale creep has made me paranoid on what's safe to buy or not. There could also be shoddy details as a result of hand sculpting something mechanical, such as straight lines being slightly uneven or sharp edges being slightly rounded on different parts of the model etc.
Caleb Diaz
>robots can't be out of scale this is a fresh meme bait

is that so? i can feel your envy through the screen[/spoilers]
if you notice newer designs, human factions are adapting alien design/tech (Taskmaster,Kriza,New Swiss)
considering the fluff connection between the tohaa and the Helots, they will probably end up notChaksa auxiliars for the VNID.
John Rivera
Hey mate, those are really cool. I really like the style.
Mason Roberts
Drop bears are 1 pt now, whether they should be or not. Bolts just haven't been informed of that yet.
And I'm going to have to disagree about getting rid of the shotguns. The burst 2 BS16 shotties on everything are one of their greatest assets for securing the midfield, direct templates don't let you use that BS and fall flat when the opponent is willing to sacrifice stuff to kill your link. The key isn't to make them cheaper, but more useful. Stuff like the proposal last thread putting e/maulers and drop bears on the most basic profile for 24 points, that drags the usefulness upwards towards the price rather than dragging the price down to fit a lower level of usefulness. I'd rather give a link a bunch of fancy new shit than drop its price 10 points.
Adam Edwards
Thanks. I'm going to have to brighten them up, they look good under bright lighting, but on the tabletop they just look black.
Xavier Lopez
I actually really like that, I think it'd be pretty cool if you made their lights super bright.
Caleb Ward
>on the tabletop they just look black. Perfect Operators operating
>Nothing solid yet. The Oom “fish-men” and Helots will appear as a playable part of the Varuna sectorial, though!
Samuel Martin
PanO Varuna unit. Not sure what kind, they could potentially fill any LI role. If I had to guess I'd say an engineer profile, possibly irregular, with light weapons and good speed. And aquatic terrain, of course.
Most likely they will not end up in Tohaa vanilla, but if a Tohaa sectorial ends up being based around slave races they might end up there.
Alexander Carter
Why would the EI let the krakot go instead of wiping them out for treason?
Jonathan Stewart
Warszawa ma aktywną scenę, znajdź grupę na fb "Infinity w Warszawie". A jadą bo mieliśmy kilka dziwnych historii z Białegostoku i kilku innych państw z Europy Wschodniej.
They're pretty awesome and very cheap points wise for what they are.
Julian Howard
Not worth the effort required. It's not like they've got much valuable info or tech as hyper-aggressive escaped criminals, and unlike the Concordat they're a very small-scale operation.
Mason Myers
They're one of the very few sniper HI and the only Ariadna two-wound one (though still in a roundabout way).
Jace Bennett

Fu*king Black Tongue...
Jose Brooks
before I commit to buying any models how is this for a list to start Infinity with?
from here it seems like it would be easy to expand into a full morat list, or else I also kind of like the models for the Combined Army bug guys.
People have said Zurats are not the greatest, but are they irredeemably bad or just mediocre? I really like the models.
Alexander Russell
They're useful, depends on the mission. Not an autoinclude by any means but very killy and used intelligently will be pretty durable.
Elijah Jenkins
So one of the things about Infinity is that it's hard to say that a list is "good" in a vacuum. There aren't really "killer lists" for factions.
What there *are* are "killer lists" for missions, depending on the mission. And missions can vary quite a bit. So you're gonna want some variety. Hence why Zerats are good, they can both kill people as well as do tech shit with their Forward Observer and Assault Hacker profiles.
In the new tournament rules Zerats got a lot better because marker states got a bit of a nerf, so the fact that they don't hide their position isn't as big of a deal. It'd still be nice, but then again there's a certain value to being able to deploy upfield with their Infiltration and then flamethrower people.
The list you're showing here isn't really what I'd call a coherent list; the Oznat is almost always run with the Hungries, there's not really a fireteam here. It seems like you really like the Morats, it might be best to stick with them and expand into the rest of Combined Army later.
Purchases should probably be: Starter of your chosen faction Expanded Basic Infantry of your chosen faction (Vanguard Infantry in the case of Morats) Support models/specialist (Medchanoid, Zerats) Some remotes (Drone Remotes, Ikadrons) Fancy shit (Kornak, Suryats, more Sogarats)
Anthony Watson
You want to have 10 orders in your main group. Oznats are extremely impetuous when unlinked so they can be really hard to control. Not a good idea to take them solo. Zerats are all right, it's just that CA offers much better infiltrators for the price so they have some tough competition in vanilla.
Jason White
Zerats aren't terrible in and of themselves, the issue is more that Shrouded are such a massive upgrade over them for only a few points. Camo on an infiltrator is a huge deal, and Zerats have almost nothing to compensate for lacking it. If I can't take a different infiltrator (like in MAF) I'd take Zerats, but any alternative laughs them out of the room.
The real shitters are Oznats. Take one in MAF to keep your pet Hungries under control (even then you only need one, any more is a waste), but in vanilla they're just worse Daturazi. Raktoraks aren't quite as bad but are still mediocre. If you get the MAF starter, go for MAF. A full third of the box is next to useless in vanilla.
It seems like you're best off starting in MAF desu, then expanding into vanilla. Monkey-heavy vanilla only works well with particular units, and the stuff you seem to want aren't those units. In MAF you should be alright with your selections for the most part.
Joseph Bailey
I'd rejigger the combat groups in this one but I know it ain't terrible for a mission like Annihilation.
Luis Garcia
Where to start? Bar Umbras you have only morats. And not just any morats, a starter + couple of random blisters. Instead of single big group there are two small ones. Generally it's better to have one main group and a small group for a couple of units that probably won't need that many orders during game, like Total reaction bots. Zerats have their place in Morat sectorial, but they are overshadowed by shasvastii infiltrators in vanilla. I'm not a fan of the lieutenants either. In their sectorial, Onyx have precious few lieutenant options and umbras are typically protected by their link.
I'd decide, whether you want to field vanilla and sectorial and build to that army's strength. These kind of lists that don't fully utilize their benefits are somewhat pointless.
Hunter Williams
In the current tournament setup, taking an infiltrating Zerat and going HVT hunting is fine. If they're your datatracker they can't camo anyway. Also dudes like Shrouded don't have infiltration + D-Charges to get the super easy Sabotage.
Jackson Clark
CA has better datatracker options. Not quite as many D charges but imo Kurgat, Doc Worm and especially Rasyat have more utility as platforms.
Shrouded > Zerats. I could be playing a game where D charges are required for all objectives and Shrouded would still beat out Zerats.
Dylan Morales
The Zerat assault hacker can complete like half the objectives in the deck. She's one of the Classified pieces with the most utility in the game.
Joshua Scott
>let's have all these different and varied subfactions >but let's make it absolute dogshit to ever use them together I honestly think the only way I am going to break into this game is if I proxy whole lists with whatever reaper/gw models I have around until I can learn the rules
Wyatt Robinson
If I wanted to do Morat starter + Zerat + vanilla elements, the problem is that Raktorak and Oznat are really designed to be in fireteams, so maybe:
3x Vanguard FOs Anyat, [Oznat as proxy] Sogarat Lt. Q Drone Umbra spitfire Umbra hacker Zerat hacker Ko Dali
By busting Anyat down to Oznat or trimming the FO upgrade off the Vanguards you could also swap the drone for something like a Noctifer/Maakrep/Rodok heavy weapon guy
Sebastian Gutierrez
Really the problem is the starter box design/ name. Subfactions were introduced after a few years of the game, so the philosophy behind the boxes has been -you already have a core list now want to buy the shit you didn't need before. So Morat starter gives you basically four different supplements. They've cherry picked stuff vanilla players wouldn't have already bought In contrast the vanilla starter is actually a coherent stand alone package
Christian Martinez
hungries seem like a very poor value for the money.
four models in a fixed pose, 16-28 points (depending on how you count them), for about 50 USD somehow makes kirby era GW prices look inexpensive.
Grayson King
Don't compare points to money, it newer works. unless you're on a budget for a force of a given point size, in that case no shit cheaper units are more $-expensive
Joshua Gutierrez
Yeah, it sucks. Points:$ is also a good reason not to field TAGs, a logic the developers are desperately trying to argue people out of. But hey, another one of their recent rule revisions is in favour of elite lists made up of exactly 10 models - and that makes for a very affordable game.
Christopher Moore
What? You want inflated prices for point wise expensive units ala GW?
TAG's aren't even that bad for points per money, about the same as non-HI blisters.
Brandon Barnes
Its alright user, you can swear here you self-censoring nigger.
Jacob James

Christopher Perry
G* b*ck t* r*ddit :*)
Blake Hernandez
H*r*'s a C* H*T.
Hunter Sullivan
No. But cost is always important. Like a lot of people who play the game in large part because of cheap pretty armies I'm against expensive ugly models of great tactical value. Tinbots are the most obvious example of total redundancy and cash grabbing.
Josiah Rodriguez
>expensive ugly models of great tactical value Neither is particularly true
Liam White
Or you know, just play a cheap pretty army. Nobody is forcing you to play tags and many people like big robots.
Noah Wilson
> I want to use this cool up to date model from the starter pack.
No! First you must buy these 4 shit models from years ago as a necessary complement
Henry Hill
If morat have no word for surrender, and hate civilians why does the RPG book say they don't abuse captured cities unless it's people rebel?
Blake Richardson
Because the city didn't surrender and they don't get involved with things that they hate.
Benjamin Stewart
They're these guys but cheaper, and these guys are pretty good so they're good.
Joseph Lopez
If a Morat is ordered to keep his distance and not fuck with civvies, that's what he'll do. The EI itself would be in charge of actually running things in the captured cities.
Blake Richardson
I thought it was holding a brain at first.
Henry Evans
Just being a civilian is enough for a yaogat to kill you though
Jack Jenkins
>during combat in civilian areas
Nope.
Grayson Lee
That's specifically when they're sent in to purge, and those purges are mentioned. Some Vanguard basic bitch on patrol isn't going to shoot an allied civvie, especially if they've been ordered not to.
Tyler Thomas
New player here, looking to get into infinity but am short on funds, any advice on what factions I could collect that focus wither on lots of maneuverability or on infiltration/ camouflage ( I like the glass cannon playstyle coming from playing dark elder in 40k) but that won't cost me that much to collect.
Alexander King
Nomads come to mind, but most factions can do that sort of stuff. Most units in the game are some sort of glass cannons due to how deadly shooting is. Ariadna trend towards greater numbers, so I guess stay away from them.
Landon Jackson
Tbh, you can play any faction like that. Go for the one you like the aesthetic the most and come back.
Brandon Cox
>except maybe Dakini You shut your dirty who're mouth. Dakini are beautiful and too pure for you.
Eli Green
Both Ariadna and Haqqislam. Haqqislam focuses on trading forces while ariadna (from my experience) are more hit and run.
Angel Rogers
Well, morats and greeks are more of "brick to the face" school of fighting.
Asher Peterson
>I could collect that focus wither on lots of maneuverability or on infiltration/ camouflage ( I like the glass cannon playstyle coming from playing dark elder in 40k
Japanese Sectorial Army:
Glass cannon maneuverables: Aragoto (bikes), Keisotsu link teams.
Infiltration and Camouflage: Ninjas and Oniwabans
Robert Murphy
Is Steel Phallus viable without character models? I kind of like their style, but I hate using characters in wargames.
Xavier Bell
WEEBS RAUS
Actually I'd wait for their starter to be resculpted
Chase Jenkins
It's less of a brick and more of a prince rupert's drop. Hard as he'll unless you hit them the right way. Once you start folding them up though, they go down pretty fast. to be fair, I play Greeks, but I've had it happen to me.
Ryder Brown
Not really. You could theoretically run one, but that would be rather missing the point (+you'd probably need multiple copies of same models and robots to fill the blanks). It's not that the characters even are that unrealistic, as ALEPH just takes the next batch from the stores after the Achilles gets himself killed nth time.
Oliver Sanchez
Only non-characters that can form links are the Myrmidon officers.Phallus without characters is just really bland, your options consist of 6 units.
Daniel Barnes
Not really, but characters matter less in this game, compared to say, WHF. And all the Greeks are recreations, so none of the characters are necessarily unique, according to fluff. There could be 3 or 4 copies of Achilles running around. Sure, it's illegal, but so are chain rifles. Every force in the O-12 still uses them.
