Never played/watched any of these but why not, could be fun.

I can ignore art that I dislike on a subjective level.

I cannot ignore NPCs that are roleplayed in a fashion that I find obnoxious or unappealing on a subjective. The game requires that I interact with them. So should the GM require me to acknowledge content that I do not enjoy on a subjective level in order to participate in his game, I will likely choose not to participate in the game, due to our differences in taste, something which is almost entirely subjective.

My players are quite in the know, but they can't do the ghettomode, narrative focused dm-ing like I do so it's stuck this way

In all seriousness, all these mobage trash games (& Touhou) have some good elements that you can use for "inspiration" (plagiarism).

Every girl from Idolmaster has one or two personality quirks that would make any quest giver or major ally memorable enough. Every character from Granblue has good ideas for backstories and events you can expand on in a campaign. Even Touhou has tons of lore that can spice up a setting.
