What's the best loadout for an assault squad?

Best boy coming through.

What kind of idiot question is that?

What site was that from?

Try an' not be a cunt ya git

>best boy
>has no primarch kills

>Death Guard eternally BTFO

Sorry, but no dice.

You're welcome for the save though.

How would you buff snipers in order to make spammable characters less effective?

first in progressive stack for transgender cypher and also best model.

It's a fucking assault squad, they don't have "loadouts"

Make all snipers the same as the Transuranic Arquebus, but only when targeting CHARACTERs.
Increase sniper points a bit.

Why are Ultramarines so based? Honestly I don't understand why anyone would play any other NPC tier chapters when the literal protagonists of 40k are right there.

Taking them as vanguard vets is a good start. Then at least on storm shield and probably a relic blade and some pistols. You can give the rest double chain sword if you wanna be that guy.

Shut the fuck up you worthless waste of air..

Most forced meme ever

>literal protagonists
>literally on the other side of the galaxy during HH
Forever memed by Alpha Legion, didn't even kill Alpharius, kek.

Hence 40k and not 30k, I'd wager. Guilliman was pretty whatever during HH and now he's the main character of 40k.

I'd rather play a Legion that had absolute faith in the Imperium and the Master of Mankind than the shitcrows who bailed for their "backup Imperium" at the first sign of trouble.

Deimos dude here. I was being an absolute fool and working with 6th/7th point costs and didn't know that 2000 was the new normal army size, and that 1500 was smallish.

So here's a new list that actually makes sense and has oomph.

Admech battalion
Lucius rules (since I figured deepstriking and 'runed armor' for the Lucianite alloy were fluffy for being so close to the Knights)
Dominus - Eradication ray, macrostubber
Enginseer - warlord, Autocadaceus, necromechanic
2 squads of 5x Rangers with 2x arquebus and omnispex
2 squads of 10x Vanguard with data tethers, one with 3x Plasma and one with 3x Arc Rifles
2 onagers, one with icarus and one with neutron laser, both with extra heavy stubber

GK Vanguard
Grandmaster Voldus - Gate, Hammerhand, Vortex - 190pts
Paladin Ancient -142pts
Two squads of Paladins - 2x with psilencer and falchions, paragon with hammer, 2x with falchions - 304pts
2000pts 107PL

Vanguard screen the Onagers and can be deepstriked if necessary to engage the backfield or to claim an objective, Dominus sticks with them for plasma rerolls and canticles, Enginseer sticks back with the Onagers, Snipers camp on shit, Paladins arrive in the nick of time and ruin things where needed.

"When people talk of the Blood angels, they may speak of their battle prowess. They speak of their zeal and piety. Some may whisper about the almost shocking...bloodlust some feel.
None that I have seen ever talk of their excessive drinking habits. I know, most people hear drinking and they immediately think of the space wolves, and with good reason.
My question to you then is, did you ever notice just how big their Goblets are?"

Are cultists better as a giant blob or split into smaller squads?

Continuing the madness of blob guard;

#

(You) #

I found that I can potentially run 2000 of suicidal kriegers.

2x Battalions, 2000pts
Karis Venner
Marshal with momento mori, plasma pistol and power sword
Marshal with momento mori, plasma pistol and power sword
Tank commander, 3 plasma cannons and plasma turret

Commisar with plasma pistol and power sword
Commisar with plasma pistol and power sword
Command squad, regimental banner, vox, 2 melta guns
Command squad, regimental banner, vox, 2 melta guns

8x infantry squads with plasma pistol, power sword, vox, melta guns

2x gorgon heavy transporters with heavy stubbers all around

I set down 3 tanks and thats it.

MSU
Can't get fucked by morale

Smaller squads. Their ld is so low that as soon as you lose a model or more, you can lose some to morale as well and if they are ever targeted you will lose models.

Get a blob. You will be fucked by morale but if that's an issue then get either a bigger blob or a Dark Apostle.

Tide of Traitors is gold and a good enough reason to avoid MSU with them.

Please seek help. I am concerned for your well being and for those around you

What's some Slaanesh approved music I can listen to while painting my noisy boys?

Anyone got the WD's articles on how to paint the primaris Librarian and Primaris chaplain?

Harsh noise mixed with porn and the sounds of people screaming.

Thank goodness that the new Guard Codex will fix the Conscript meme

Music that will only get odd looks, not music that would send my to the asylum.

How would you represent a company commander's faithful dog on the tabletop, rules-wise?

Thanks, lads. How about if you take cultists in a DG army rather than CSM? People here say you can replenish poxwalkers with your cultists.

Can you +2cp interrupt combat order vs emperors children always fight first?

red rockets?

Adds +1 to hit and always wounds on a 3+

Take the max amount you can in a blob, run iron warriors, and plant your warlord within 6" of them.
Boom. Poor mans conscript blob.

>Play Dark Angels
>Only play vs friends
>Friends play Ultras, DG, and GK
>GK are nothing for my Dwing
>Barely able to beat Girlyman 2 out of 5 times
>DG now has Morty
Is my ass gonna be sore for a year or what?

Things change if you don't have Tide of Traitors (do DG get that? I don't think they do but could be wrong). If you're using them to fuel a Poxwalker blob then by all means take a blob, you want them to die after all. If they're in danger then just Cloud of Flies them.

>holy dubs
Makes sense.

yeah there is a strat that feeds poxwalkers all dead infantry within 7" for a full turn, which means you can use that near an enemy blob, shoot it, charge them with your cultists (who should probably have autoguns) and turn every single person who dies in that fight into a fresh poxwalker

Yes.

>Is my ass gonna be sore
But user, you play Dark Angels.

IKR Its why ive avoided an IG army so i dont look like one of the faggots

Turn on a TV to blast white noise, while having your laptop playing bdsm and a slideshow of family photos

Bad news user, guards got cheaper enough for blob and they can platoon again, so instead of conscripts now we have old blob guard in 8th ed.

You came into the wrong neighbourhood xeno scum

...

>guards got cheaper enough for blob and they can platoon again
where has this been stated? just wondering.

My small Tau force is getting slowly painted.

Which sept is best sept?

Does anyone else think the imperial fists should be the 'vanilla' chapter?

Newfags can't paint yellow, so no.

But they're not even smurfs?

...

I feel like that white needs to be thinner.

Also I haven't played Tau in many many years and don't intend to go back but Kel'shan is the most interesting sept for me.

>Thinks Dorn killed Alpharius
That's cute bae now run along

Yellow is a shit color.

Naturally.

>guards got cheaper enough for blob and they can platoon again

Do I want a big mek to follow my kans and dreads as an ork or should I just leave them to their fate and spend the extra dosh on more boyz? I know you should always have more boyz but I am curious about how useful big meks are

you can prime yellow, now. Its no longer the dark days of painting.

>Muh super special secret legion could mever be foiled by an yellow autist
Dorn felt him die, omegeon felt him die, the book makes it very clear that it was the real alpharius who died. He's dead and dorn killed him, that isn't up for debate. Dumb fulgrim poster

Why would you want platoons back when you can do the same thing except you get 3cp for each platoon? Old platoon sucks.

Not that user but once or twice some play testers have come and give little tid bits of info, if this is truth guard will become nightmare fuel

Do you need to thin metallics? I was watching Duncan and he didn't seem to do it.

I don't. Thinning metallics makes them look really off.

...

You mean the larpers who post on here pretending to be playtesters, or the actual confirmed play testers?
Because if it's the former, then you're a fool for believing them

so since guard are next for a new codex is it possible that forge world will pull their finger out and re release krieger grenadiers and the quatermaster sets they used to sell?
I know they've brought back stuff that they've removed from sale before and this seems like a decent time.

I always thought it was per 100ish years

...

Its French. He writes convoluted stories even if they dont need to be done that way. I'm betting Alpharius will revive inside his legionaries in some stupid fashion to retcon the retcon.

I dont mind if I'm wrong its just what I'm expecting.

Prob 5 jump packs 2 flamers if you insist on using them. Not sure about the sergeant, it would've been melta bombs or nothing in 7E but in 8E sergeant and their wargear are actually useful and varied.

>DA, UM, DG, GK

You and your friends might just be the most boring people alive.

In Rogue Trader rulebook, marines aged like humans.

>A stud will represent either 10, 50 or 100 years service, depending on its style and the material it is made from.

what are the cool kids playing? I'm not that user but curious

>Which sept is best sept?
Oshova-sama's

>I'm betting Alpharius will revive inside his legionaries in some stupid fashion to retcon the retcon.
Doesn't matter what might happen, because as of now dorn killing alpharius is what has happened.
Also, the HH is coming to a close, so I doubt we'll see them add even more stupid stuff in, because that would only prolong the story

For example oldest Ultramarine was 60 years old.

Agreed, as long as you can get good coverage with a single coat.

I'm painting gold at the moment, and even over a white base it covers like arse, so I thinned it amd aplied 2 coats. Never had that problem woth silvers though.

>10 years per-stud
>200 year old vet is more stud than face
>500 year old vet is basically a mass of metal
Kek

I can see why you like Dorn.

user, with old platoon rules guard players can combine them into a 30-60 blobs of rank and file guards, instead of conscript blobs for a few more points you get more guards with better stats and LD to fuck with you.

I'm hoping for more renegade guard models/conversions.

I haven't someone fail so hard at impersonating their idol since the Force Awakens.

That's pretty cool, is it worth reading through the old stuff?

>implying they won't drag their heels like fuck to make the most books
>implying there won't be anthologies galore
>implying the series will end after Siege of Terra
>implying the series will end at all

>Iron Hands

French already retconned the retcon made by Abnett, Alpharius Omegon is back to being one primarch.

>being this naive

I think he was disappointed by a group of 4 playing just flavours of marines for endless marine man mirror matches

>is it worth reading through the old stuff?

If you love the setting, yes.

It was a shit death. It felt rushed as hell and you know it.
In original cannon, Alpharius wouldn't have done that. BL authors just love to rape cannon.

Yes.

If you want to learn history of how 40k developed yes.

Is he allowed to do this?

>Eldar Dread
>but not on the boxart, here have some Chaos androids instead

You know I miss when 40k boxart was artwork or at least heavily Photoshipped pics.

He probably also thinks Dorn was "just pretending to be retarded" with the Iron Cage too.

He hasn't caused ADB and C.S. Goto level of faggotry so he's given some liberties

not an imperial fist fag but honest to fuck everytime someone mentions them this poos up as what? an arguement
