If you're just starting, start with igowin.

Once you're comfortable playing that, move on to playing people on online servers (like KGS, OGS, and Tygem).

If you just want a stronger computer player, there's also Leela.

Igowin: smart-games.com/igowin.html

Leela: sjeng.org/leela.html

It's better just to start playing against real people right away.

online-go com is great

When is Google's new AlphaGo paper coming out?

Hi user, I hope youre still here. Online-go is great to play against other plays. The best AI for consumers is called Crazy Stone.

im way too terrible id get smashed lol. any good go youtube channel ?

>lol

Watch Hikaru no Go. There are good youtube channels if you speak korean or chinese

i mean just a good english or french channel for beginners, if you know any

>start with igowin.
Seconding this. When I played go I played igowin compulsively and it made me a beast in fighting. Learning about wider strategic position I think requires a human opponent who can walk you through their thinking.

If you're in an even moderate-size city, there are definitely go clubs at bookstores or coffee shops. Go find a nice old Korean man who'll kill you every week and explain exactly how he does it.

quelle ville ?
je te fais une liste des chaînes intéréssantes. Mais pour les débutants, rien de mieux que de se bouger le cul et jouer avec un type plus fort qui soit pédagogue, y'en a des tas ; même en ligne, certains offrent des parties pédagogiques.

search for the mafructr ebooks collection stuff ! also, you can go for asian go tv shows.

Nick Sibicky has some beginner lectures on youtube.

annoying thing for the french ones, I hate their voices. the first one has a room in KGS, quite lively, teaches often tho.

youtube.com/user/dwyrin/videos he often streams in comprehensible english
youtube.com/channel/UCTji1kQNoWIH85dB_Vxka9g I think she does too ? more bizi person tho.

be careful with the people running the ASR tho. you'll find the drama on lifein19x19 or if you ask on KGS,etc.

I mostly did my problems from books, so, the only one I used. But it's good to know that OGS has quality problem sets posted by users, with a way better interface.

those can be fun once you have played a bit. Off like an offshore mining platform when it comes to results sometimes

and
twitch tv/directory/game/Go
there's a french beginner streaming, that you ? shit music taste

And I insist, go play with more competent players and learn with them at first. for books, I recommend lessons in the fundamentals of go by kageyama, english traduction. Disappointed by the recent indé french one, lacks the good tone.

Forgot gogameguru (yt channel & site) and surely other stuff. Hope it helps anyone !

...stuff like the guo juan igo school or the yunguseng site

do they make magnetic go boards to hold the parts down?

Any book recommendations?

Only play against real people. Lose your first 100 games as soon as possible. Don't be afraid to make weird moves just to see what will happen. Study pro games with commentary from other pros. OGS is the most relevant go server, and it even has a tutorial.

Just search for magnetic goban.
