What's a carbokinetic?

>to immediately swap Quirks

How does this work with always-active mutation Quirks, considering they're just part of the person and can't even be suppressed by Eraserhead?

Always thought the most down played superpower are those involving enviromental awareness....

Superman's super hearing and Wolverine's sense of smell are enough for any hero.

You can even make it really edgy if you want, like:
A girl who can hear smell and sense nearly anything to superhuman levels, but in turn the sensation of pain is Slaanesh level, and the sound of your own heart is super distracting.

You can push it to god level if you add that time seemingly goes slower if she concentrates.

I want him to eat pasta or bread and gain super powers

Did someone say SNOWFLAME?!?!?!

When I ran Champions I filled out the mutant school with the Peanuts kids. Patty was a speedster, Charlie was krillin, the VanPelts were psychic, Schroeder had sonic powers, pigpen was sandman, etc. You could do the same thing with other media, I was going to make the upperclassmen based on That 70s Show.

Discount Accelerator, able to through one thing he touches with near infinite force, but he also suffers near equal recoil.
S/he is friends with class clown because an invulnerable cannonball at 300 mph is scary.

You know who had an amazing superpower?!
The Blob

Not only was he able to practically nullifie almost all direct physical damage,
but he could literally tie himself to the ground and become practically immovable.

.....that guy could have been the worlds greatest wrestler if he would just get his shit together.

>powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Inner_Beast
An emo edgy kid who want to hate his inner beast. The funny thing is that the beast is the kindest thing ever and only being a jerk to the kid to toughen him up to make him a great hero. The kid doesn't want to be the hero but the beast while kind (to everyone else) does clearly selfishly is the one who want to be the hero regardless how the kid may feel. Play with the idea as much as you want. I'm thinking it is a werewolf-like deal where only one side can be in complete control at a time and the two can only share inner feelings with each other at any given time. Them keeping secrets from each other is possible but the other side will know they are keeping something from them.

Ever heard of superconductor's "Quantum lock effect"

Okay so when a super conductor is in a magnetic field it locks in place since it hates change, but the entire world is covered in a magnetic field(albeit weak).

So we make a hero whose power is he can turn nearly all matters into super conductors for as long as he can keep concentrating.

You need some animal-based characters too.

I haven't read hero academia but the powers you list makes me think of Dial H
Pic related is a guy who can turn any window into a portal.
I also like the guy who could set things on fire by insulting them.
If you like these I can list more

>and the drawing spoke to me
wtf

He can manipulate carbon.

Like Eraserhead, mutation-type quirks aren't affected, although the she can still transplant quirks onto people who can't donate a quirk themselves (mutants and Quirkless) with the other party simply losing their Quirk and getting nothing in return.

I was thinking about making a kid with an enhanced time sense - essentially, they percieve four subjective seconds for every one objective one. They can't actually MOVE any faster, but they can plan their motions in precise detail as they make them. The downside being that because time passes so slowly for them, they always seem incredibly agitated and impatient.

Kek. He could probably use high-carb foods as a carbon source, though, by ripping the carbon atoms out of the glucose molecules.

That's pretty hilarious, I like it.

I definitely want there to be at least one kid with an intelligent Quirk - Fumikage is one of my favorite characters - but nothing has quite occured to me yet. Probably would have an animal theme involved, as points out.

So their power is essentially turning things into Immovable Rods? That's really interesting...powerful if used right, but requiring creativity. I like it.

powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Cold_Air_Manipulation

That's actually a really solid power.

I vote for locust based speedster and taekwondo fighter.

>a nerdy, mild mannered carbokinetic
So he is basically the ultimate 3D printer, till he realises that he is made out of carbon and starts punching things ?

>a bipolar thermokinetic girl
>increasingly manic and uncontrollable the more total heat energy is near her
You mean i can have a vacation at the beach with my genki gf and calm cuddly nights in the mountains with the same girl ?

He could use his quirk purely to add force to a strike, but it probably wouldn't be any more powerful than a decent pro-boxer's haymaker - his Quirk essentially trades off raw power for near-molecular control. That, and denying yourself the range advantage when you have it available would be a TREMENDOUSLY poor idea when so many Quirks are touch-range only - see Katsuki vs. Ochaca in the sports festival arc.

His main strength is exactly as you said - he's the ultimate 3D printer, since the various allotropes of carbon have ridiculous properties such as extreme tensile strength, hardness, and conductivity.

Also

>genki gf

More like yandere, but yes

I feel like there's a shitload of b-listers and below, especially in the villain category in cape comics, where they basically could have been amazing or super successful in some way if they weren't stupid assholes/designated punching bags.

>China 'I'm Quirky!!!!!!1!' Mieville
Not exactly surprised.

They're on a world were everybody is a chalk drawing on concrete.

How can you not love that?

I have a good few from my campaign I could share

Machine Fist: Experienced mercenary that almost always wears a powered suit. Very difficult to operate, but also very powerful. Wouldn't be possible to use if Machine Fist himself didn't have a superhuman powerlifting ability

Euphorium: has hologram creation and swapping powers. Very proficient with katanas.

Commissar Crunch: Got a contract with a cereal brand. Minor quirk in that he can jump six feet with ease, but makes up for it with great construction and vehicle skills.

Chrome Bull: Head as hard as steel, two very hard chrome horns. Hates people talking about the fact he got cuckolded by a quirkless.

Inferno Injustice: Like Ghost Rider, but with a corrupt cop motif. Wields a chain and can project fire down anything he holds.

Laserhawk: Cyberpunk to the max. Wears mirrored wraparound sunglasses and a trenchcoat. Great with black market weaponry. Has some kind of quirk bond with a hawk which can shoot lasers from its beak.

Cool Cola: Represents the Cool Cola soft drink brand. Can lower the temperature of water in any form he's in contact with to zero. (i.e. cooling cans of cola!)

KABUTO-SAMA: Beetle themed hard as a rock kamen rider with deceptive mobility and beetle flight powers. Punches very hard as well as very durable as he possesses a partial bug exoskeleton.

The Watchman and The Hangman: Tag team duo.
The Watchman has supernatural speed and precision with a revolver- he can speed up his perception to see things like hummingbird wings flapping.
The Hangman uses lots of old west traps as well as great skill with a hangman's noose, used like a lasso. Possesses limited luck manipulation (in order for people to step into his bear traps)

Mach Speed: Classic speedster, so named because he can travel at mach 1.

Discharge: Powerful ability in that he can directly control electrons. Very abusable and top tier.

Dunston: Cybernetic gorilla, halfway between Winston and Gorilla Grod

Some more I forgot about

Sidewinder: Full robot terminator rescued from a killer robot factory before he could be completed. Decided he was better off as a superhero.

The Streak: Another speedster, but instead of running quick he makes the space between different areas shorter, like a warp drive.

Fastlane: Has a serious rivalry with The Streak and even a similar power, though his is instead slowing down everything else so he can move faster. Hates that despite this he can't get faster than The Streak, has friends in high places.

Batboy: No relation to batman. Uses a baseball bat to hit things with incredible power. Themed like a Japanese delinquent and is actually the grandson of KABUTO-SAMA.

Sergeant Sledge: Batboy's villanous foil. Utilises a sledgehammer which is more unwieldy, but he can channel his earth control quirk through it do create localised earthquakes.

Gluestick: Head of a slug. Can spit sticky slimy glue everywhere that makes everyone else slower, but him quicker.

Wereshrew: Ability gives him the appetite and savagery of a shrew. Gains claws, some strength and super reflexes at the cost of needing to eat something every minute he's in wereshrew form.

The Great Amazo: Self teleportation to areas he can see within 10m. Uses it with lots of gadgets to make up for a relatively weak quirk, such as razor cards, smoke bombs, a magician's cape and an exploding magician's hat.

This is for one of my campaigns, but it might work for yours too. Heads up, she was an antagonist and thus real fucking tough.

Amagi Kitsuki (Kit) - 18
Blonde. Short hair. Metal-frame glasses.
Ability: Gardens
She has the ability to open a hole to a separate dimension, trapping her and anyone within 20m around her in that dimentions until Kitsuki dies or she choses to close the hole. The dimension in particular will vary from a selection of 5. Moonlit Garden, in which she's able to summon blades from the ground. Hall of Chains, in which she's able to summon chains from the wall and manipulate them. Datamine, in which she's able to manipulate the topography freely. Lighthouse, in which she's able to instantly combust anything within her PoV. Gade of Dreams, in which she can close the dimensional hole and effectively trap people inside.

This one was an NPC, so she's a bit more reasonable.

Ino Kibarai - 17
Black hair. Long. Freckles.
Ability: Serpent physiology.
She has part of her body covered in tough scales, able to resist blows with relative effectiveness. Her saliva is heavily poisonous, and her grip, as well as hugs, can reach a total of 18 psi per square inch. Her body is flexible and her sense of smell is better than average.

Characters thread? Characters thread.

>On Fucking Fire Man
Professional welder. Now has a body composed purely of fire. Flies, shoots fire, etc. Cannot turn it off. Acutely pyrophobic. Every day is his own personal hell.

>TeeKay
Psychic. Pretends to just be a telekinetic. Is secretly a telepath too. Flashy telekinesis based powers, and subtle telepathy powers. Puts on an act of being the showy heroic type. Would really rather not be a hero, but is worried he'd be discriminated against otherwise if his telepathy became publicly known.

>Stillness
Martial arts master. Can teleport, but only to places that overlap with where he is. Can adjust how long he's gone for before he reappears. Uses his ability for fake-outs and mind games. The up-tight type who doesn't do well outside the rules.

>Overclock
Superspeedster. Tuns parts of himself into electricity and moves as fast as lightning. In other words, retardedly fast since lightning can hit .3c. Owns an accounting firm and does all the work himself. The laid-back type. Always leaves things to the last minute, but gets them done on time anyways.

>Locus
Teleporter. Can open and move portals that connect any two locations. A lot of portals. Support specialist who can't really attack on his own, but is one of the most powerful heroes in a large fight. Friendly type. Tries too hard to make quips and one-liners.

My character I had for muties had gravity powers, which included making little black holes that exploded Hawking radiation on people and inverting gravity in a wide range so I could drop people from on high into the pavement. She was a fun build. Shame I was banned from just dropping people from heaven because it was overpowered in comparison to the other party members.

>a bored, bitter cunt who can transmit his memories backwards in time to himself at a predefined "save point", aborting the timeline and allowing him to continue to retry anything until he gets it right
So, as far as any players are concerned, he's just an asshole who's always right?

Yeah, I can see that one going over like gangbusters.

Not always. He does eventually reach a limit where the amount of information slamming his brain at once exceeds the amount he can process, and additional retries doesn't add any more useful information. And his patience usually expires far before reaching that point, anyways.

He's going to be fairly irrelevant anyways, as most as the extras in MHA are, only occasionally popping into my descriptions to drop subtle hints about future events.

Action Guy
He has the ability to mark objects and then hide them into some other dimension. Marked objects could be retrieved or hidden at any moment but he must be touching them whenever he does anything with them. Applying a mark takes around 10 minutes and he has a limit to how much mass he can hide in this way.

>psi per square inch

Oh user...

>He can manipulate carbon
jesus christ how horrifying
pls nerf

>Centurion: Can sling around copper all telekinetic-like, but can't really change the shape or state of it at all. Carries around rolls of pennies at all times. Often found scrounging around for loose change.

Here's a few ideas off the top of my head.

>overly flirty guy with a magnetism quirk. He can pull metal object to himself but if they weigh more than him then he gets pulled to that object. He can mostly control his quirk but still find himself attracting small metal things like staplers or accidently sticking to metal walls and such on occasion

>drop dead gorgeous girl with a gross quirk, when she looks someone in the eyes they become extremely sick usually throwing up on the spot and the symptoms get worse the longer eye contact is kept. Normally wears sunglasses to cover her eyes and avoids reflective surfaces because she isnt immune to her own quirk.

>very petite shy girl that produces pheremones that cause emotions similar to what she is feeling. If she is angry then those that smell the pheremones become so to. Despite this she is rather emotional usually defaulting to sad. She resents her powers but want to learn to use them for good

>quirky blind guy with the powers if a bat. Relies on echolocation to see and can fly and shit. Doesnt like loud noises and is generally sleepy during the day preferring to be active at night

>gossip girl with a mind reading quirk. When she touches someone she can open her mouth and have their thoughts play out of it like a speaker. Terrible with keeping secrets but great at finding them out. She has a tendency to use her quirk on unsuspecting people when they seem lost in thought.

>a kind and gentle guy with an puffer fish quirk. His body is covered in small thorns and when he flesxes the muscles rhe spines will launch out. They are poisoned and cause short term paralysis. Normally has great control over his quirk but he unnintentionly launches slikes when scared. The potency of his poison depends on his diet so he often eats poison things in small doeses to make his stronger and over time has gained resistence to many poisons.

I like the copper theme, but I think my list is already a bit heavy on kinetics I think.

These are all great. Pufferfish guy sounds fun to describe.

>Action movie fanboy who's quirk is Fingergun, he can fire projectile out of all his fingers but he mainly uses his index and middle finger to mimic a gun, he want's his hero name to be Blockbuster. I guess it would function more or less like Johhn Joestar fingernails throwing in Steel Ball Run

>Adrenaline junkie who's quirk is getting faster and stronger the more excited he get, he is often putting himself in danger to get more and more adrenaline rush I kinda had this idea after watching the two Crank movies

Adrenaline junkie sounds cool

> From a few mutants & masterminds - games I ran or played in:

>Nightingale:
A girl that dies not require sleep and has a beautiful, trance inducing singing voice that can charms all who hear it. The effect ranges from dazing and inability to act to full on mind control, depending on the willpower of her victims. Also rather proficient in close combat and parkour. The game was set in modern Florence so her outfit was a black feathered suit with an Assasins creed style cloak and hood.

>Fluke:
British Gentleman with a superpower that worked like a trading card game. Had to go through a deck of 40 different effects before he could re-use them and could hold a hand of 5 at a time, taking a standard sction would refill his hand. Could change the cards in his deck with an overnight ritual, but not on the fly.

>Shift:
A dude with seven sub-personalities stuck in his head that switch at midnight. Background that he and his friends tried some rituals in an odd book, because horror movie cliches, things went wrong and the others de-materialized. So now his GF and six other friends switch the co-pilot seat in his brain, with another set of elementally themed superpowers to boot.
>Fire Tsundere that specialises in flaming or explosive traps that appear like magic seals.
>Healing Water powers
>lightning guy that teleports through electrical outlets and shocks people
>fly wind guy
>earthy bruiser dudebro
>Shadow dude that needs no sleep, sees in the dark and becomes invisible in shadows. Also has extendable darkness arms
>classic ice manipulator

>Dreadman
Healing factor while smoking weed, extendable dreadlocks.

>El Plazma
Luchador wrestler that got his powers in an accident involving tacos and a shortcircuiting toaster. Can Fly and shoot plasmabeams, can trigger area EMP pulses. Is a total jackass.

>an accident involving tacos and a shortcircuiting toaster
.....
explain

He wanted to warm up tacos, but they didn't come out of the toaster and already began to get burnt. So he incompetently tried to get them out with a fork and got shocked, yet survived the accident with superpowers. It was a very silly, short campaign.

Additionaly here's some heroes idea I had for a super hero campaign, but I have yet to find a group, I figured I could give you some of my ideas
>Jailbreak
An escaped convinct (who was wrongly put in jail) who kept his prisoners outfit and use it as his trademark and hero suit. He managed to escape thanks to his power, he can become everything he touch, by that I mean that he mimic the texture and specificties of it. It allowed him to use it as a camouflage to get past the securities. He have a special belt with various things attached to it: Metal to become hard and fight, paper to reduce his weight and slime to become flexible.

>Princess Luchadora
A girl enamored with Lucha libre. Her power is rather generic as it's superstrenght. However, when she beat someone, she absorbs the strenght of her foes. It is only limited by the fact that she can only absorbs the surplus of strenght she doesnt have, this means that if she beat 50 average joe with the same strenght level, it will not pile-up.
Her main project is to beat a gorilla so she can get it's strenght, but she haven't find a way to break into the zoo and to survive the encounter

>Herald
A priest who can manifest divine energy to attacks, he usually use it to summon items and concept from christian lore: David sling, the spear that impaled Jesus, Jesus cross that he uses as a hammer or angel wings

>Kraken
Kind of an Doc Octopus rip off, he have 6 fleshy tentacles on his back. They can extend a lot and he uses them to propel himself by using them as some sort of spring.
They also shoot laser

paper shouldn't make Jailbreak lighter (Books are heavy), something like foam or packing Peanust should though.

Yeah but now that I think about it, it doesn't matter if it's paper, foam or anything that's not to dense, he would still keep his 80 kg weight, 80 kg is still heavy even if it's paper foam or feather

Both not bad suggestions. I do like the idea of having a kid with a Hollywood theme, considering this game is supposed to be set in whatever the American equivalent of UA would be.

Of these, I think I like Princess Luchadora the most. Something about a beefy latina teenager breaking into zoos so she can get stronger by fighting animals sounds so bizarrely adorable to me.

Doublethink: can project his own thoughts into some elses head. This is NOT mind control, but the projected thoughts are indistinguishable from their own internal monologue.

With intense concentration, he can project actions as well, but this is much more obvious because he has to do them too. (AKA, to make you yell 'stop!' He has to yell it too)

He cant read minds either, just project. So it requires a lot of guesswork to push someones buttons. Its good for creating doubt or confusion, but anything else is a psychological shot in the dark.

Thousand Words: painting hero

A woman who can create pictures that other people treat as real people. The better the picture, the harder it is to disbelieve it and the longer the effect lasts. A stick figure might only last a few seconds, a photorealistic painting can last DAYS.

If he keeps his weight, he could change into something low density to grow.

Turning into something more dense than water should make him shrink.

Might be a neat power, now that I think about it.

A girl who always tells the truth. That isn't to say that she can't lie, reality just transforms to fit what she says. However, if she is effecting another person, they have to be able to hear her.

A boy with a navel that is actually an interdimensional portal that connects into the home of a Cthulu-like tentacle monster that acts on its own but cannot see what is going on. The boy and the monster must work in tandem to get things done. The monster also likes hugs.

A girl who is a living mannequin. She can add and remove parts for different things, but they have to be made first. She often wears a trench coat to hide the fact that she isn't wearing her limbs because she finds them uncomfortable.

A guy who can move forward in time, but not backward. He performs microjumps forward in time to become unaffected by the effects of whats going on around him and also replicate superspeed and flight.

A guy who always hits his mark. Kind of an asshole and acts quick without thinking, but if he can theoretically throw something at something, he hits it. Carries around throwing knives.

Seance, a spirit medium who can channel the undead. They use ghosts in their service to manipulate objects, or can copy the powers of ghosts. Their weakness is shoes.

Sin constructs.

Works like a lantern ring, but with the seven deadly sins. If it feeds off of the user or people around them is up in the air. Bonus points in making the user a saint.

A very quiet, mousy girl who can project her fantasies as giant illusions in the world. Often sexual. The number of times she'll turn the classroom into a beach paradise with all the students in gimp clothing and the teacher as a bull is too high to count.

>animal-based characters
You could have a seahorse-based dude who gets no end of shit because of the "males get pregnant" thing, but learns to play it up so that people don't notice that his mutation also gives him a wiry but ridiculously tough frame, the ability to erase his presence and sneak up undetected on people (this is part of why seahorses look so weird, their prey is so evasive that they need to be undetectable until they get into kill range), a prehensile tail that can be used to climb trees and other scenery for better ambushes, and a strong but short-ranged Kirby-like vacuum that can disarm weapons or knock down opponents.

Extra twist: If your players are having too much fun bullying the seahorse dude, reveal "him" to be a reverse trap while talking about how seahorses pretty much have their skins stretched over their bones, so there isn't much room for tits anyway.

My single favorite power is something super weeb-ish, but I still really loved the power: Shadow Possession Jutsu.

Being able to control other people's movements is in itself a pretty strong ability, but all the limitations and draw backs the ability had is really what made me love it since it's user had to always come up with a bunch of crazy schemes and ruses to get his power to work.

So when it comes to superpowers that's my adage: Come up with something that sounds crazy powerful and versatile, and tack on a shit load of restrictions and limitations to that power until the point that it almost seems 'useless'. Having to either take advantage of those weaknesses or find a way to overcome tends to lead to interesting fights.

(dice+d100)

A character who may choose to fail at any given task, so long as it is possible within their own actions and the laws of physics.

"dice+d100"

A brash chubby guy with the quirk Animal Magnetism:
At will he can toggle a field that gives all living members of the kingdom animalia within its range a magnetic field-like attraction/repulsion relative to its mass. Targets are only attracted/repulsed by him and he is affected by the field as well, so toggling on repulse while standing next to an elephant would send him flying. He has no control over who or what it targets but can toggle it or switch polarities instantly.
