First for femina

I could be a Guardsman.

Fair enough, part of the reason I like Chaos in general is all the conversion potential, my dudes don't have to follow strict regimental or chapter rules, we're a warband or a legion, our Chaos Lord doesn't differentiate himself by having purity seals or a special coloured helmet, he differentiates himself by being the meanest motherfucker on the battlefield, our champions have the spikiest bling and I love it.

Ork Codex When

post your old army pics that bring you shame

And there is the reason I picked renegades to begin with, it feels like I could put way more into it than regular guard.

shame that she won then instantly got shot and died

How do you anons do Company markings without Transfers? I am having trouble making perfect shapped blood drops

I picked them because their 7e rules were so fluffy and fun.

What kind of legion trait would make Rubric Marines and Scarab Occult good?

Apart from the inability to hold a straight line and somewhat thicc paints, it's not actually that bad.

Real thread here

Why not use transfers?
Else practise makes perfect.

I long for the old days of the Lost and the Damned.

Ignore this fool

Post on

I can respect that.
Always fun to put more creative effort into building your dudes.
like how my Renegades are Renegade Vostroyans that I'm still waiting to arrive.

This
Trying to understand the new 8e rules so I can bring out my old Renegades army again, can anyone explain to me the whole rulebook/index/codex thing?

move and shoot heavys without penalty, +1 to invuln saves would be nice

more likely they get +1 to casting and denying rolls like gks

Printing your own transfers is easiest. That said, there are a couple of tricks. One is to start with a simple line down the center and then build the design out to either side from there. That helps you keep the symbol properly placed and more symmetrical. Another is to just trace the outline of your design fromt that centerline with very thinned paint (and only a little on your brush so it doesn't run) and then fill in the outline with paint afterwards.

This thread was made first and has more replies. Let the other one die

The rulebook is the same a always. The base rules. The index are placeholder rules for every faction. The codex is more in-depth rules for the faction it covers. You can use any entry in indeed it codex for your army.

Rulebook has the game rules in it. Index has basic rules for armies in it. Codex has the updated rules for an army in it.

this thread was made too soon, go back to the old one!

Rulebook is the rules. Codexes are like old codexes. Indexes are temporary "get you by" rules for armies without a codex yet, since all pre-8th codexes are incompatible.

Different colour shoulder pads?

I was thinking about using a thin pencil to try and draw the marking and fill in from their

Damn. Orks are fucking fun to paint. Time to start a new army.

That should work too. One way or another having a design to fill in makes things much, much easier.

Valkyrie or Vendetta as a transport for an Inquisitor and his retinue?

>move and shoot heavys without penalty
We already have that (Death Guard already had Disgustingly Resilient, and try gained their super Rapid-Fire on top), plus it does fuckall since we get one one heavy weapon and it does the same thing as our basic gun.

+1 Invuln would be nifty, but it doesn't really help with Inferno Bolters still being underwhelming and comparable to other MEQ's just taking some Plasma.

The thing is Blood Angels Company markings are usually just different color and number of blood drops. Sergeants usually have a Black filled in shoulder pad to signfy they are the sergeant of the unit. So its not as simple as a different color shoulder pad.

I'd lean towards a Valkyrie unless/until the Vendetta gets the new "Roving Gunship" rule.

Anyone have any experience with paint pens? Do they work on models at all? I thought they would work well for freehanding details on shoulderpads and such, not for like, basecoating.

Vendetta isn't in the book any more, only Valkyrie.

kek

FW rules exist.

I don't know about Paint Pens, but Micropens have made my work with Purity Seals infinitely better.

I've used them on Gunpla. I wouldn't recommend them. However, finetip permanent markers like Gundam Markers or even just a fine Sharpie are very useful for freehanding script, dotting eyes, and similar applications.

After nid codex probably. They need it more.

I knew a guy who used a super fine black Sharpie to shade. Worked alright.

How to make iron warriors great again.

Can shoot enemy units within 1 inch of friendly units, but for every attack made this way, Roll d6. On a 6 the closest friendly model suffers a hot from the weapon too. Ignore cover and can target characters for enemy units engaged with your units.

I use a sharpie on my nids

somewhat clearer brighter photo

Wouldn't've guesssed.

Oh, and obliterators as troops.

>55804932
They look really nice user Now the grey minis in the background

>I use a sharpie on my nids
You don't need to state the obvious.

Could've bought the big ol' nid box with 60 some gaunts.

I really like that look for nids, I can't think what it reminds me of but it looks great.

Just give them the shoot into melee thing, hitting a friendly on a 1, plus some anti-building buff.

Letting them ignore cover and snipe characters on top of that would be too much.

Looks great if you can keep that standard up. What are you planning to do with the bases?

How are Reiver grappling hooks even remotely worth it?

They should have just said the grappling hooks grant infiltrate and been done with it.

Very nice.

GOBLIN GREEN BASES FOREVER

What's your wishlist for the Craftworlds and Tyranid codices?

...

Vendetta. 5 Acolytes and 1 Inquisitor is good.

>Not flock
0/10

I've already done up some dull grey rubble and shit on some of them. I wanted something toned down to not detract from my yellow nids

Give me a break, i got a billion of those suckers to go through. I only just discovered the magic of averland sunset spray primer though (what have I been doing with my life, hand painting averland over white primer all this while?)

That wasn't what I was thinking but I'll take it anyway it works better than what I was thinking.

I was in fact going for Wasps. Because wasps are motherfuckers

>using Acolytes
Please tell me why you want to use Acolytes at all. Maybe I'm just bitter about the lack of Codex, but they're little more than guns on sticks.

How come primaris have no melee specialists, and yet the captain with gravis armor is locked into TWO fucking melee weapons?

Hornets are motherfuckers. Wasps are bros.

That's all acolytes have ever been.

Mawloc buffs.
A reason to field basic eldar instead of ynnari

For the tyranids I'd love to see rupture cannons base ap improved or reworked and maybe a strategem specifically for tyrannofexes so they become a relevant choice over exocrines. Id also love to see the -1 to hit penalty for crushing claws removed when they are equipped on a carnifex otherwise they will just never get taken and thats a shame

Because they want you to spend money over time. They'll release the heavy melee Primaris with the Blood Angels.

its beautiful

That is actually a really good idea, using sharpie for black highlights. Goddamnit I can't believe I've spent all this time painstakingly painting and shading.

What are reivers

Here we have an example of HERESY and PERVERSION by Slaanesh devotion and exposure to the Warp.

lol

Do they secrete acid?

A Bloodthirster?

>A reason to field basic eldar instead of ynnari
Craftworld traits might go a ways towards that.

That is one hell of a mutation since that is usually a gland in the throat.

>3 attacks, no ap
>no mobility beyond buying deepstrike
>no access to power or higher strength weapons

Not melee specialists.

>ignores cover

Since GW is becoming more gender-inclusive, what are the odds of hearing about daemon princesses. Are there even any cannon ones aside from pic related?

I assumed Inquisitor plus retinue meant Acolytes. What else would be used that could actually be classified as a retinue for an Inquisitor? I guess you could take Scions or Crusaders, but they don't really do much for the Inquisitor.

Acoltyes are pretty nice for being 10 point Storm Bolter and Bolt Pistol units, but pretty much every other gun is overcosted for the BS4+. Flamers make up for that nicely as you can have a ton of output and charge protection, but even then it's too much because it puts them at 15 ppm. I'd rather have more range. Not to mention Acoltyes are easy to kill, so charging a bunch of Flamer Acolytes wouldn't even be a thing if your opponent has half a brain. Throw a few Bolter/Lasgun shots at them and they will die with ease.

What I personally do for fun reasons is take an Inquisitor with a Demon Hammer, Plasma Pistol and 2-3 Acolytes, then the rest Crusaders in a Chimera. Terrify plus some mild shooting plus charging in. Acolytes to absorb some hits to make up for no Invulnerable save and some fun 4+ Demon Hammer action. It's not that effective, but it's fun.

Why wouldn't you recommend them?

How do you all store those small fiddly bits that go with something else and if you ever separated them you'd have no idea what they were for originally?

Daemon Prince is actually a unisex title, there's no such thing as a Daemon Princess.

>Give me a break
No user. If i am working hard on painting my squad of space marines then you must have all your Nids done by the end of the month

Port Valkia the Bloody from WFB. Not even the cooties screeching autists can object to a badass Khornate valkyrie.

Because they make your models look cheap and sloppy.

It's fine for Gunpla because gundam models are snapfit, but for a real model you want real paint not markers.

Dark Eldar Archon: blast pistol or splinter pistol?

female Daemon Princes are a thing.
For Daemons the term Prince is gender neutral because Daemons don't have biological sex, since they used to be human though a female can become a Daemon Prince.
She's still a Daemon Prince, most female Daemon Princes [read; all of them] are dedicated to Slaanesh.

It's like Daedric Princes gender doesn't really have a concept to living embodiments of emotion.

Sick Goffs, my dude.

If you actually have to ask that question, you're probably a newer painter so using a paint pen isn't going to ruin your paintjobs any more than your regular painting methods so go ahead and use it if you want.

Tips are awkwardly large, since you're pushing down to release the paint they're much harder to control than a brush, they only really work well on moderate to large flat surfaces in my experience. You could probably use them for painting panels on a Tank or Tau something. but that's about it.

I really wish Valkia was in 40k.

She could be like M12 WS 3+ BS 3+ S6 T5 W5 A4 Ld10 Sv 3+

Let her spear have S+2 AP -3 D2
Shield confers a 3++ and lets her deny 1 psychic power per turn.
180pts.

Done.

Blaster. Its obly 5 points more than the pistol a d you will rarely be sending him into CC anyway. This also lets you better use the 18 inch maximum effectiveness range on splinter cannon venoms. You ARE putting you archons in their own dedicated party boat with a couple slyth, right?

>tfw Lieutenant Mira will never get a mini

there was a demon prince[female] of Khorne IIRC - she was an Iron Warrior's armor polishing slave until a demon tempted her to put on his gear and somehow made it work for her

Blast.

how ironic(get it?) they have the same legion tactic as the Imperial Fists now
