OH MY GOD HOTNESS I WANNA BANG YOU

>A lvl 1 character doing that
Hahahahahahaha no.

>Bladesinger
>Ranger
This is bait isn't it?

Looks like a Gnome

Thwarting thieves?
Seriously?
That's your criteria for mary-sue backstory?
It literally doesn't even specify how, it just says 'thwarted them'
That can mean literally so many things that are not outside of realm of imagination for a lvl 1 character you fucking autist

>Memeraptor playing Dungholes and Dildos
That's exactly what I don't need in my life.

At least he's not W_l Wh__ton

Fluff doesn't necessarily equals crunch. Ranger could be an occupation or a title. Bladesinger would be the mechanical class.

>Pic related, their character.

I bet Arin didn't even fucking draw his character profile, lazy fucking HACK, FRAUD.

>their
Egoraptor and Arin Hanson are the same person.

So shill, how much do you get paid to post on 4chins? Do you get paid by the post or by the number of responses in the thread?

>It literally doesn't even specify how, it just says 'thwarted them'
She probably seduced them.

Anyone listen to The Adventure Zone?

Level 1 character's are extremely fragile to the point that any fight is almost a 50% toss up on who comes out alive.

I think the problem here is that she is given a heroic feat without an explanation for how she managed it.
I see here it says "Bladesinger", so I assume her heroism was just casting Sleep on two homeless dudes and then cutting their throats.

Their can be used as a singular pronoun and a plural pronoun

But the former, only when referring to a non-specific person.

No one said they were good thieves. Maybe it was literally 2 unarmed kobolds.

If I may. If you read through the D&D handbook it specifically refers to the fact that starting at level one doesn't mean you are starting from scratch, your character could have done all kinds of things, especially fighting bandits, level one indicates stepping into the world of adventuring and your characters first step into becoming beyond a normal person.

I like their other show MBMBAM but I find the Adventure Zone boring.

They are level 3 at the start

I like MBMBAM too, but I loved Adventure Zone, the Balance campaign had so much variety in how the game played, even if they did get very loosie goosie with the way the game plays. I admit I cried at the finale when Magnus died and reunited with Julia in the Astral Plane

>hey faggot, give us your goods
>no
>o-okay then...
CRIMINALS: THWARTED

>Bladesinger.
>Human, not an elf.

>Not wearing armor.
>Not even skintight 'sexy' armor.

>"this beautiful Ranger"
>Ranger
>Bladesinger ranger???

Bzzzt. Wrong. They're level 1.

True, I won't say it's too fantastical.
I'll just say that it's a tabloid snippet in the characters life that doesn't reveal anything about themselves.

She learned prestidigitation so she didn't have to shave her pits everyday.

Looks kinda like Kim Possible.

Also, everyone seems to be starting D&D streams because CR was popular I guess...?

About the same time I fucking get a group together to do a Star Trek campaign as well... markets gonna be flooded.

>>A lvl 1 character doing that

This is literally the opening to the 5e basic kit story lost mine of phandelver.
You are helping escort a cart of supplies, you get attacked by goblin thieves, you go an a crazy adventure from that point on.

how horribly boring are your games that "merchant twarting thieves" is too rich and complex of a backstory for level 1?

Shaky knowledge of the game but could be fun to listen to, I feel Ross being the dark horse of the campaign.

Overall it was kinda boring.
They arent really very creative or interesting people.
Projared isnt a stellar DM either.
He opened it with an encounter (which is fine) but with no interesting game play mechanics or appealing design.

But hey, they're friends having fun around the table and they dont get on eachother's nerves.

If you had watched it, you'd know they started at lvl 3, not lvl 1. A lvl 3 can handle a few thieves.

Literally 2 minutes into the episode Jared says they were level 3

He's probably a nerd who thinks every pc class needs to go to school from childhood until their class's minimum age

I'm the opposite, MBMBAM is so hit and miss but I couldn't get enough of the Adventure Zone.

How's Clint doing with the new Fate arc? I haven't caught up since the introductory episode.

Okay fine, her.

>Any thread on Veeky Forums

>devolves into screechy shit-slinging over rules minutiae or whatever-the fuck autists don't care about while they're having fun playing their game

>original topic ignored until limit

I listened to the first episode, I had my misgivings, since Clint never really felt like he could get into character fully, so I worried he wouldn't be able to handle controlling a world, but so far he isn't too bad, started the game out with a pretty simple but not outwardly easy puzzle for the gang to solve.

You have to allow for some sort of narrative events to happen outside of rules mechanics. If your world ran just by mechanics then everyone would be terrified of all the house cats that can maul a human to death in six seconds

>She learned prestidigitation so she didn't have to shave her pits everyday.
Now this is kinda funny, but if it's treated as an actual thing in the game then that's a waste of a slot.

Still...
>Bladesinger
>Ranger
It's a wizard subclass god damn it!

So, I didn't know this was a thing. Have you heard it, OP? If so, what do YOU think of it?

I'm mildly interested because Arin's a decent improvisational actor and a phenomenal voice actor - but his sense of humor is only sometimes what I want out of a scene. Too many times during Game Grumps has he either taken a stupid joke way too far, or just completely checked out but phones in lazy shit because he has to fill ten minutes of gameplay.

Clint is better at narrative than actually playing the game (Seriously, I'm pretty sure for most of the game he was just rolling straight d20s for all his skills, without adding anything)

If you listen to Stolen Century, it's almost entirely roleplay, and he did much better then. Of note was the sermon he gave to the Mushroom people

>Ranger
>Clearly some kind of Rouge/Warlock multiclass

Yo.
>spoiler
so did I, user.
First episode was solid, and Clint seems to have a handle on everything so far. I think is right and a system like Fate actually works really well for him and his style of gameplay.

I wanted to avoid gendering them.

Forgot pic

Is ranger not a valid occupation separate from combat skills?

Then adjust the sentence and do it without including SJW shit.

>three girls
>in an SJW company like GG

fuck no, i avoided that shit like the plague

Oh I don't mean he's bad at roleplaying, I just mean some points he just didn't really feel like he fit the atmosphere. Merle said a lot of really positive stuff, but at times it felt like he was just spouting it without it really backing up his character's personality, Merle never had a moment where he wasn't cheerful, jovial or joking around, even when the situation clearly called for a much more sombre tone like the moment after they made the relics and Merle was dancing while everyone else was depressed due to the INSANE body count the relics were racking up

If that's true, then why is Arin multiclassing at level 3?

I guess, kinda confusing to call your wizard a ranger when rangers are a thing.

Bladesinger is an optional Wizard path in the Suncoast rulebook that basically turns you into an INT barbarian.

>INT barbarian
sounds fun, i'll have to look into this

I forgot about the Elven requirement.

Fuck this backstory and fuck this character.

did you not read the part where it says this can be lifted?

Pic related, her character.

Happy now?

I just assumed he wanted to stick to his guns as far as Merle's personality went, sometimes you have to do that despite what the atmosphere is like. Dude didn't flinch once when the Hunger tortured and killed him dozens of times, and only lost his temper when he realized John didn't want to be saved. Someone like that isn't going to change their demeanor even in the face of the horror they caused

forged-destiny.obsidianportal.com/wiki_pages/sword-coast-wizard-bladesinger

Autists see what they want to see.

>Theives
>Once a former mer chant
>Bladesinger
>Ranger

Are they 8 or something?

cheers

The characters haven’t really felt impactful but it’s only the first episode. I’m into the production value, but the dealbreaker will be if they actually solve problems in character, and if Jared’s campaign is interesting.

>mer chant
uh oh, one of them word changing auto-corrects on this bored to protect the juice?

>Their can be used as a singular pronoun
No, it can't. It's not grammatically correct.

>in an SJW company like GG
Are they really SJWs? I don't remember they shitting on Jon on that whole shitstorm. Were they anti gamergate or something?

>Hopping on the Critical Role bandwagon.
Everyone and their mother is doing a D&D podcast because it takes no editing and it's easy to do.

no nothing to get them into a public shit-fit, just constantly espousing SJW nonsense on GG

Naw, I'm just phone posting and I have fat fingers

Like what?

The final fight with Dark John was pretty cheesy with the Bond Engine mechanic, but that last Whirlwind from Taako was fucking hype as shit.

it's mostly arin constantly saying stuff like "why can't this character be a girl??" and "hey man, let's not assume this character's gender", and danny going "yeah.."

Those podcast brothers do a game with their dad that they edit down. This one is clearly not edited though.

>it can be lifted

Sure. I'd like to see a justification for it in her background. Oh wait.
I guess stopping thieves justs makes you learn how to cast spells

and i just know Holly is one, just look at her

What are some good D&D podcasts? The Adventure Zone has given me a bit of an itch to listen to more campaigns

They live in California and sing songs about penises and sex. Fuck off with the SJW bullshit; Anita Sarkeesian, thay ain't.

someone a few years ago recommended me one on here, it's some autistic dude's animated campaign with his autistic friends. it was actually fairly interesting (except the main antagonists were kuatoa, which is laughable), but he eventually started using a chibi aesthetic and i stopped watching

There are good D&D podcasts out there, but just most of them are shit.

Whenever I see a bunch of YouTubers© do a D&D podcast, it's usually the lowest of the low effort put into it because it's easy ad-revenue money if they don't get demonetized that is.

they clearly are, thankfully not as annoying about it as most

So far the only good one I've found is Godsfall, I'm only a couple episodes in but I like the committed wordbuilding

>3 thieves attack a cart
>notice them and avoid surprise, win initiative
>attack one, hit, do 8 damage
>he goes down
>one of them misses, the other hits for 3
>attack again with another lucky hit, dealing 7
>he goes down as well
>last thief panics and runs away
>"Huh. Maybe I'm awesome."

Doesn't take that much luck, and can be done by any character at level 1. The unlucky ones got shanked and have no stories to tell.

I assume not in a jokingly manner, right?

Nah, when the JonTron shit happened I remeber her exchanging tweets with him about their birds like nothing was happening. Also she's probably the most hardworking of all of them(except maybe early Barry), she's seems pretty cool

>The restriction reflects the story of bladesingers
>in the Forgotten Realms, but it might not apply to your
>DM’s setting or your DM’s version of the Realms.

>When ye mistress from the highlands rolls up on her horse wearing that sexy boob plate, but you pull up her kilt in bed and see one of these.
What do?

That's her wanting to be a girl, not being an SJW.

>I gotta defend gamegrumps and their shitty characters

alright

OK you got me there. I kekked

Thrilling Intent's a nice D&D-like podcast, though they use a heavily house ruled edition of Pathfinder. The first arcs start off a little rough, but they get progressively better and start to come into their stride as it goes on. The comedy is great, the GM is great, the art is great, you should give it a chance.

I don't think any of them even enjoy traditional games; they just like arguing and this is the only place they have the knowledge to do that.

I would totally do Arin.

>Once a former merchant
So she used to be somebody who used to be a merchant?

I suppose that would imply that she's a merchant again.

First episode is out
Ross, Holly and Barry are playing fun characters.
Arin and Suzy not so much

I just listened to the one Funhaus is doing, seemed to be pretty good but most of the show is behind a paywall
youtu.be/Dj6a2YDUnQM

I wasn't joking.

hell yeah!

also it's a solid first episode where they get a grasp of the mechanics. Hoping to see more to. Things should be good with Holly and Jareds experience.

Really wanna see Dan and Brian show up. I know Dan has experience and no way Brian has never played. They'd make some nice bard and ninja bards

who the fuck says? it's been used since before formal grammar was invented

>Arin's a decent improvisational actor and a phenomenal voice actor

Let's play "Spot The Shill."

The climax was poorly conceived, but the epilogue was pure gold from start to finish.
I'm glad that with this Fate series they learned how it comes together before diving in. If it has any less growing pains and hitches than Balance it should be a pretty good miniseries.

>I have to hate game grumps and their completely average characters, so much so that I have to willfully read the rules wrong then move the goalposts after being proven wrong
Why are you such a retard?

I'm really looking forward to seeing what each of them decides to run. Clint doing superhero stuff is basically a guaranteed slam-dunk, so I'm anticipating good things out of this Fate bit. If Griffin ends up doing one, I hope he runs something space opera-y; he talked a bit about how Cowboy Bebop influenced his Fate char's style of combat, and him doing a Bebop-influenced campaign sounds fuckin rad.

Enjoyed Ross and Holly, Barry was okay, everyone else was whatever.
