What are the benefits to an airbrush over normal brushes? Is it just an efficiency and speed thing?
Caleb Mitchell
Was this reuploaded? Have definitely watched it before today
Colton Richardson
It was uploaded on the FW channel, years ago.
Ryder Thomas
Not 'just'. Efficiency and speed factor in for stuff like painting armies. But you also can use it for a variety of different effects and techniques you can use with regular brushes. The most obvious ones are using stencils for all sorts of things, but also adding transparent layers of paint or using specialty paint. There are paints (thinking of certain metallics here) that will only work as intended if applied through an airbrush, because the pigment is applied more even.
Using an airbrush also means you don't need aerosol cans anymore basically. Varnishing becomes less of a pain in the ass. And you are independent from the weather outside and whatnot.
Alexander Morales
Smoother layers, transition effects, priming and varnishing without solvents.
Brody Diaz
good job on the white, but like the other user said not so sure on the green things - I think orange would look a lot better, but that's just my opinion
Kevin Peterson
If I've got some dried paint on my bristles, is there a way to get it off? Should I soak it in green stuff or is that a bad idea?
David Scott
already posted in this thread, dipstick
Henry Long
>cup hand >get soap and a bit of water in hand >"paint" your hand with brush >be thorough >watch as soapy mixture changes color to that paint >rinse hand off >cup hand and add clean water >repeat process with clean water you now have a clean brush. Wipe away excess water, reform bristles, let dry.
Isaac Fisher
I dont understand. Theres shading and highlighting on red, white, black, metal, nearly everything, so I dont understand how its flat. I also dont understand why you think the green is jarring, I think it looks fine, any more colour would ruin the scheme when compared to the rest of my army
David Green
Not op but thanks user

>Always wanted Ghazghkull Thraka when I was a kid >Get back into Warhammer a few months ago it was always sold out online >It finally comes back in stock and I order it >Knew it was resin but worked with resin before so no worries there >I get it and it's basically just one block of resin >Spent the last 2 hours cutting away and still have a ton more to cut out. >tons of air holes in the legs as well.
Why did this model come out like complete shit? I had another one and I was able to prime, paint, and build in all under 4 hours. This one is 2 hours in and not even close to getting it ready to prime.
Ryan Bell
Im not sure i like the purple or yellow, blue looks ok and the darker green looks better. What would be best? My army has no blue in it which much be weird though
Andrew Walker
The only proper one is the blue one.
Jordan Davis
I''m all for the blue as I hate direct complimentary colours.
Parker Flores
batch to thick, too thing, too hot, too cold, mixed to much, not enough.. resin is a bitch like white primer.
Henry Kelly
I just wish they would go back to metal models
Julian Price
Blue BLUE or purple. Purple is also nice. My primal instincts tell me blue is prettiest, though.
David Jones
I think the green looks fine
Brody Robinson
Anybody got any ideas on how to do good lava bases that don't look like red/yellow water or use the martian ironearth cracking effect?
Isaac Brown
The drill suggested doesn't ship to my country. I however found that there are some ridicolously cheap drills + drillsets on ebay from China. Does anyone know if I can trust them to actually deliver atleast a somewhat decent product?
Parker Hill
If it came out that shitty why not have them replace it?

I come from da land daaaaanunda.
Austin Garcia
Can't speak for the others, but I think your scheme is just too busy and the color placement breaks things up too much. It's just visually static-y. Nice job in terms of technical execution/paint application though
Nathaniel Martin
Good job, clunky, but functional Haphazard without looking like random shit was stuck on just to make it look "orky" Well looted.
Matthew Rogers
The problem with resin is not that it causes cancer, but because it is so light it is very easily inhaled. This is made even worse due to how resin is structured, as it very easily gets stuck inside your lungs and will never, ever leave.
Zachary Morgan
"That's a shame that it has air bubbles and moldlines but don't worry if you get GW liquid greenstuff and moldline tool you will be set, would you like me to give you a link to the product on our site?"
Luke Fisher
Are there any cheaper alternatives to Leadbelcher spray?

I'm in need of a drill to use on for my minis. Do you think that one of these two are worth their price?
So my Custodes are coming in tomorrow, and I've decided on a gloss black armor plate with golden trim, with green gems and hair of indeterminate color.
But what about the gunspears? They're usually black with gold accents, but I worry they might get lost in the model, even with highlights. Then again, they're not the focus of the model either, so that might be fine. Any suggestions on what to do with them? And the blades - straight silver, or colored power weapons?
Robert Wood
I stuck a small bit of resin in boiling water for a minute, and it snapped when I tried to gently push it back into the shape it's supposed to be in.
Fuck resin. It's literal and figurative cancer.
Austin Thomas
never boiling, only hot.
Christian Ward
>boiling water
Caleb Robinson
Use a hair dryer dude
Aiden Cook
Chinashit? I've done the same for FW models in the past and had zero issues
Grayson Robinson
If you want "miniature" stuff like GW produce then just look at the Army Painter store. I have one of their little drills and it's pretty good. Does what yo would expect a drill to do.
Charles Lopez
I tried all three. Same results.
Nope! It was actually a Raging Heroes model.
Adrian Anderson
Aren't they that restic shit?

Sebastian Williams
Mostly done save for gloss and base and some final touch on guts. Dont like how sword came out.
Camden Howard
con.
Very sory for shity pics.
Cooper Collins
Don't think so. It came with instructions about how to handle resin. Only reason I got it is because getting a Herald of Slaanesh is a pain in the ass.
Jose Wood
>Very sory for shity pics.
Worry not, they complement the shitty model nicely.
Jackson Garcia
that gap all along his right shoulder ruins everything
Andrew Ortiz
You mean that conection line that runs across his back? Yeah...I somehow missed it and noticed only after I made second run with primer and was like 'well it is how you gonna look like" Not intentional. Thx, since U jelly I did good :)
Logan Brown
You know, you COULD use that line as part of the model - pick it out as a long, gaping wound on the model or something.
Ian Lewis
Didn't really do much today, just another coat on the purple, a brown undercoat for the brass, the brass and a wash on it. The warplock bronze pretty much lost it's shine immediately, at least now I remember why I didn't use it for so long, still needs highlighting, so who knows. The dryad bark I used for the undercoat is the same one I use for wood, and I guess it is a bit too close to the brass. Hopefully I get done with these undead Amazons in power armor by tomorrow. Painting like this does not feel great, even if it is faster.
Nathan Jenkins
Painted up my tallymsn, all set to count kills, poxes, and points.
The proportions bother me, especially around the legs of some gals. But, I love the colors and the effort you've put into them.
Alexander Sullivan
Thanks I mentioned this the last time I posted them, I personally enjoy proportions like that, though I messed up the connection on the one most right. I'm actually not that happy with the colours so far, and it is low effort for painting.
Samuel Rogers
The only glue I have is some liquid cement for plastics models, is that stuff good enough for general use or should I just buy some generic plastic glue.
Nolan Hall
if you're going to work on metal or resin models you'll need super glue
Samuel Hill
Just plastics, I'm assuming it'll work fine but I just wanted to ask before I fuck up a box of dudes
Robert Long
ignoring the fact that it's basically half finished how's the banner looking so far?
Luis Gomez
Looks okay, thought the banner said vigi 1 cause the l looks 1ey but other thank that just keep practicing freehands
Cooper Sanders
And onto the next in line. Gotta keep uncle Morty safe, right? Also, scythe ate cool. Shitty for combat as they may be.
Zachary Rogers
My main beef if that the smaller eyes and the text is off centre.
And red/black/gold/white is overdone.
Gabriel Cooper
Found some hobby time tonight, got my Shadespire Khorne dudes gaps filled and primed them. Some of the join location seams for these guys are just terrible.
I like giving vallejo primer a day to cure so I can't really work on them more tonight but tomorrow I'm hoping to finish all 5.
Brody Williams
Here's my first metal model conversion painted. Any C&C?

More (slight) progress on my Malakim Phoros. Happy with the pose with the right arm and the damaged up helmet he is holding. Unsure if I want to keep that thing hanging off his arm or cut it out. Also considering swapping it with a heart gem or something Lamentery/Blood Angely.
Austin Hall
the primer looks awfully rough, it's especially noticeable on the helmet and his tabbard
Jacob Lopez
That's the green stuff. I'm not all that good at it just yet.
Luke Diaz
Raging heroes is shit quality "resin" for good molds, why would they fuck the minis by using such shit "resin".
Zachary Hughes
It's not from the video game. It's just the generic scheme of Yu Jing from Infinity. It's the Guilang. Basically a camouflaged skirmisher, but they gave it a sniper which it's not optimized as so I converted it to hold a regular rifle so it could act as a specialist in missions.
Thomas Parker
>dig out old half finished mini >man, I should finish this, what am I a shitter? >mfw I find all the fuck ups I did on this mini
Jayden Reed
Figured I'd get started on my shadespire golden dickheads, WIP as fuck, c&c appreciated tho
