Honestly, the best way to help new anxious players is to just be friendly. I generally frown on any of these contrivances. This is a game where people meet up and have fun as friends, so relying on a crutch like this is strangely mechanical compared to the way you'd usually play. A good GM would just accept and invite verbal criticism and not need a signalling system from the players. If you make the guy comfortable he'll speak his mind regardless of whether there are cards

I was under the impression that pruning referred to automatic deletion, or at the very least, manual deletion, not mods just autosaging the thread because they don't agree with it.

That's been my experience too. Only times I've ever had anyone try to push politics and the like in games or rant during breaks, the player was liberal.

Doesn't mean the other side doesn't do it too, just that I haven't encountered it yet.

Can't speak for everyone, but in my local small town community, progressivism killed ttg. It started with one progressive new guy from NYC and spread through the entire community. Soon everyone was pro-30 different social issues and virtue signaling everywhere. It has made the entire local gaming community insufferable. No one actually plays anymore, they all just tey to prove they are either more victimized or more "intune" with what ever social issue is popular at the time. I quit out of disgust, and 3 other guys either quit, moved, or were pushed out of the community.

It's possible that my local gaming community has always been progressive, but I don't think thats true, as most of those guys would be willing to make racist, sexist, etc jokes before the NYC guy moved here.

So I honestly think progressivism spread like a fire through my local community, due to one guy.
