Big board games with lots of components are pricey. Although if that makes you freak out, don't even look at tabletop miniatures games.

Thankfully, we're in an era where there are a lot of smaller, cheaper games, or fantastic print and play options that make gaming more available than ever before, regardless of your income.

You mean $100 per game piece, right?

>table-top RPG
>three $40 rulebooks
>when questioned about vague rules, devs usually answer "lol IDK its ur game now u figrue it out XD!!"

5e's garbage is not representative of dev teams as a whole

$100 isnt even that much money in todays world get a job.

Honestly "just houserule it" applies to a great many games.

that's $22.50

Rulebooks are a fixed cost. Spread it out over the hundreds of hours you'll spend playing the game, and the many more you'll be looking over the books between sessions.

If you consider how much use you're getting out of your books, dice, and other accessories, tabletop roleplaying is an very inexpensive hobby. Cheaper if you use those pawn/cards things instead of real minis. Even moreso if you're one of the heartless pirates who keep game developers starving and in rags.

yep, that's entertainment these days!

This, so fucking much. A "AAA" game that ends up being mediocre at best will cost you $100 for the content that it should have come with initially.

At least I can resell my minis and maybe even make a profit.

It's weird listening to the jam when you discovered the style council first.

Play better games.

>not playing risus
>not getting all your game for free
>not getting all your homebrew for free

>not homebrewing your own game

Clearly it doesn't; it only applies to whatever games Veeky Forums doesn't like today.

>BEING THIS AUTISTIC

I just resent being the only one who'll pay for games.

I envy anyone who has a 'We'll chip in' game group.

>three $40 rulebooks
pretty good value for money even though it's D&D

Have you considered investing in a nice deck of cards, OP?
