Isn't it always shipfu edition?

The Decimator is pre cool...
But make way for the true bestgirl.

op the /co/ repository is gone, why do you continue to keep posting it?

Objectively best ship coming through.

As much as I love the EU I hate that a few stories mostly by the same author absolutely pussified Star Dreadnoughts.

Speaking of ships, that Decimator reminded me.-

I'm on the asian shift this week, which means I have time to kill. I've been using it to repaint my X-wing ships. I'm down to a small handful left,. I don't have an airbrush taht I can use ATM, what's good paint scheme ideas for the following ships?

- Lancer
- Scurrg
- Decimator
- Kihraxz

I've got 16 more hours of non-stop painting, and I don't want to have to spend them absentmindedly reading the same news articles over and over.

Here's one last draft of Trioculus- Any changes that need to be made?

Also, I'm trying to judge popularity of the following x-wing cards to give out (figuring out how many of each to print)

Of the following cards, if they were offered to you, which ones would you take?

- Trioculus with pic related art, using Hux's rules
- A card called "Agency Burgular" that depicts a cat burgular stealing agency, with the following text (mocking Intel Agent) "At the start of the Activation phase, choose 1 enemy ship at Range 1-2. You may burgle that ship's agency"
- Palpatine with the same art, but text that reads "Once per round when rolling dice, you may cheat (but only a little)."
- A condition card called "not an idiot" that says to assign it to yourself at the start of the game that says you will be using Dash's ability unless specified otherwise.

Thoughts on what will be popular Veeky Forums?

I've just been copypasting the previous threads, I only made the last two generals.

If I make the next one I'll make sure to cut it.

The red paint is too gaudy. It lacks discipline and gives the fighter an unprofessional look.

I like it.
But classic Defenders are best.

At every stage of a SW gamers life, the group must be issued one space turtle.
They must nurture, love and repair the turtle or great and terrible things will happen to them, like walking places

>"Once per round when rolling dice, you may cheat (but only a little)."
I still like this one the most.
Plus Trioculus was essentially a bullshit artist/con man

to be fair, the size of the Executor-class has been inconsistent as fuck; huge chunks of canon considered it to be 8 km instead of the now-canon 19 km, so its performance has been similarly inconsistent

I'm 0% invested in how the art turns out (sorry not sorry) but his mouth seems weird, like it's too low on his face or his upper lip is too big. it gives him a distinctly ape-like appearance.

but that's just my shitty opinion.

How was it nerfed? In one book, it tanked 3 ISDs ramming into it and not even the shields of the Executor were down. It's literally the Chad capital ship.

Personally I love the Legacy-era Star Destroyers because of the aesthetic, the Alliance Scythes aren't bad either. We can all agree the Legacy fighters were ass though.

What ship would a small band of pirates on a Hutt's payroll use?

>roll as a richfag exiled from his old position and needing to regain it, in the mean time having to mingle with the low life of the Galaxy
>attain a dingy YT freighter
>chrome it out with the Chromium used on Naboo Royal ships
>turn the interior into one fitting more of a luxury yacht than a workhorse freighter

Stolen CR90 modified to act as a pocket carrier, a la Night Caller.

Minstrel-Class Space Yacht

We've got Han and his F100 space truck as an example of someone modifying their shitbox with cheap, dodgy parts, held together with wookie hair and happy thoughts.
I think at some point, we need to explore the other 'type' of people modifying their shitboxes in the most tasteless and rubbish ways possible. Add in the rivalry you'd get with kids that like CEC vs Kuat vs SFS vs Mandall Motors etc.

Did someone say shipfu?

Was Trioculus a Chad?

hows this?

Lieutenant Kestal — TIE Aggressor 22
Trick Shot 0
Ion Cannon Turret 5
Lightweight Frame 2
Ship Total: 29

Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor 17
Synced Turret 4
Ion Pulse Missiles 3
Lightweight Frame 2
Ship Total: 26

Captain Jonus — TIE Bomber 22
Systems Officer 2
Fleet Officer 3
TIE Shuttle 0
Ship Total: 27

"Howlrunner" — TIE Fighter 18
Trick Shot 0
Ship Total: 18

My group wants me to run an Old Republic era campaign for them, and they are probably going to play as young members of Sith Order.
I was wondering, are there any homebrew stats for Pureblood Sith race?

Best Ship, commanded by Best Captain.
I'm back, bitches!

>- A condition card called "not an idiot" that says to assign it to yourself at the start of the game that says you will be using Dash's ability unless specified otherwise.
That sounds amazing and I want it.

You have far bigger problems than homebrew stats for a race.

>implying that doesn't sound amazing
Clearly you don't play Paranoia.

It's only 2 players, and we've been playing and GMing together for the last 9 years, so I perfectly know their playing styles.
So I'm 100% confident that their characters will have good in-game reasons for working together, and I have several ideas of my own, but details depend on which characters they are goung to play.

what i wouldnt give for a better organized list of canon guns droids and ships than the long uncategorized list that wookiepedia has

I love everything about this thing, including the name.

Howlrunner is primary weapon only, and your list is all secondaries. Synced turret is both way worse than TLT, and doesn't combo well with jonus.

Your jonus is very squishy, and Kestal desperately wants expertise.

I'd start from the bottom and build up- what kind of list do you want to fly? What ships are you looking to include?

It's been a while bud, welcome back

I like how the S-Foils fold out on it. I wish that it had a way of keeping it's guns facing backwards and shooting behind itself though.

youtu.be/rfSrTImTOyg?t=577

>I wish that it had a way of keeping it's guns facing backwards and shooting behind itself though.

According to the old ships/vehicles book, it could.

I'd guess Trioculus and Palp would be the most popular, and the dash condition being the least.

Also the Mk II FFG uses in mask of the pirate queen has lighter lasers on a 360 gimbal armature.

I meant in XWM. The Mk2 Title is still pretty great though.
It'd be pretty good if they gave everything with S-Foils something like that wouldn't it? Or at least something BR related.

>All X-Wings get a Barrel Roll title that's -1pt that gives them an extra Title slot for extra things.
>Like a Wraith and Rogue Squadron non-unique title. For instance.
>B-Wings get a -3 Title that let's them perform free decloak moves without having to be cloaked.
>They also get a b-wing only mod that adds the Reinforce action to their action bar, but they can only choose forwards reinforce. Minimum 4pts cost.

Anyone?

I'm trying to figure out the Lancer mostly.

B-Wings need a Vaksai effect (moreso than people clamoring for Vaksai for Squints and T-65) more than a straight up cost reduction. No way BSP or Daggers are 3 points overcosted.

I saw something on the forums which was like "Secondary Weapons cost 3 less", which would be pretty good. Your utility moves like Linked or EM still cost points, but you'd basically get free Plasmas, Flechettes, Ion Cannon and Seismics and reduced cost on the others. It also added a cannon slot and a torpedo slot, though I think 3 torps might be overselling the B-Wing a little.

That would mean both your cheapos and your overpriced aces could bring more bang for your buck without being "Now you can fly 5 naked B-Wings!"

Dark Green
Flesh/Orange
Dark Grey
Black/Red

A Vraksai like effect paired up with an extra Systems slot might work as well. You could run Adv. Sensors + Fire Control or something.

>what's good paint scheme ideas for the following ships?

So what else do we know about Snoke? besides his love of gooooold?

That he is a thespian?

I want more x-wing books. Those were so much fun.

fanfiction.net/movie/Star-Wars/?&srt=4&lan=1&r=10&c1=14753

This one actually is labeled as "X-Wing: Ambush", and reached almost 100,000 words (i.e., novel length): fanfiction.net/s/758557

It has a dead since 2004 sequel, too.

Is it as good as the Allston ones?

Because if so, you just made my entire week.

>Is it as good as the Allston ones?
well, no, but that's asking a lot. it's on par with stackpole, maybe a bit better

I don't know--I I just looked up all the stories with Wedge Antilles listed as a character. I haven't actually read any of those stories.

I prefer Jacen Solo. fanfiction.net/s/3975597

Thanks, going to read now, need X-wing stories in my life

Fair enough. I just found some copies in the local bookstore a couple weeks back, so those were the ones on my mind. I really do appreciate it, though.

depending on your taste in non-star wars entertainment, I would also recommend XW:Rogue's Gallery for later reading when you're drunk, because it's funny as shit

Sam Witwer is GMing a game of EotE for the cast of Rebels next month
twitter.com/RealFPJr/status/928312847259406336

>make a pilot character with the idea that he's a ship pilot
>that one picture of Leia as a Y-Wing pilot rekindled my long dormant love of the Y-Wing
>now at a loss for what to do when nobody else in the party is capable of flying a fighter or a regular ship

What's the issue here?

>writefaggotry
Fucking hell, I knew I was forgetting something these past few months.

Wait is Sable on Sable yes or no I can't read it

There's nobody else to fly the ship the rest of the party uses if I go into a fighter.

Get a droid as a backup

It isn't.

tl;dr: Don't put a metal (gold/yellow/or or silver/white/argent) next to a metal, and don't put a color (anything else) next to a color.

I am a droid.

starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Beckon_call/Legends

I don't know if there's anything in the rule books about a beckon call.

I miss my Decimator. I used to have one in Star Wars Galaxies. It was such a comfy ship.

Build yourself a slave unit

>BT-7 Thunderclap
That's my girl. She and I flew threw hell and back together.

That sounds like a good idea, cheers. I'll ask my GM about it when I can actually afford to buy a fighter.

If anyone here follows Armada, next wave is officially pushed back to Q1 2018 (Through twitter/facebook)

Not really a suprise. It was still listed as being In Development whilst everything else that was supposed to be up for a December release is already on the boat.
Plus it's Armada, the red headed stepchild of FFG's Star Wars games.

YOU KNOW WHAT YOU MUST DO

I wish Star Wars ships had names as cool as real life British and Singaporean ships

Actually, a lot of Imperial ships are named after British ships. Having just replayed X-Wing, Warspite comes to mind.

Been expecting this for a while. I was suspicious when stuff they announced after the wave was already in stores...

>real life British
The Empire had two Warspites, among other British-sounding names. The Star Destroyers in particular draw plenty of inspiration from the Brits.
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Star_Destroyers

What are some interesting traits/quirks for Imperial officers?

Get back to work mother fucker!
Good to see you ain't dead, I was worried.

Carries a vibrosword into battle, and has confirmed kills with an archaic slugthrower.
badassoftheweek.com/churchill.html

Link?

Freddie Prinze jr has been talking about this on his podcast, I'm really looking forward to it

I don't care if it's cliche, I still love this ship.

this I am excited for. Witwer has talked about his experience GMing games before so I want to see what he has cooked up.

>Indulges in exotic fetish(es) when he thinks nobody's looking
>Carries signature, non-standard weaponry
>Favors a specific brand of smokes and alcohol
>Nonstandard quantity of eyes
>The only person in the Imperial Navy who owns a Navy-issue boat cloak
>Brings a selection of books from his personal library while campaigning
>Has recognizable facial hair
>Insists on gentlemanly conduct, even against rebs
>Is Luigi Cadorna
>Excessive use of physical punishment against subordinate officers, who proceed to vent their own frustrations against the enlisted
>Fond of excessively long slideshows and SHARP lectures
>Hates another branch of the Imperial military with a passion
>Cuts deals with Hutts or Black Sun on the side
>Allows his troops to maintain a population of civilian hangers-on (scroungers, whores, vendors, shoe-shiners, fortune tellers, etc.) during campaigns
>Hoards all the platoon's batteries for himself
>Doesn't know proper protocol for calling artillery strikes
>No fucking clue how to read a map
>Defected from the Rebellion
>Thinks taping over the windows on his personal recon speeder will make it "extra tactical"

Would love it if it gets saved as a podcast somewhere, Witwer's pretty cool

Ah you do writing, that involves lots of kenny G, long walks on the beach and killing the right side of your brain with fortified wine. So its kind of expected.

>Fond of excessively long slideshows and SHARP lectures
>Doesn't know proper protocol for calling artillery strikes
>No fucking clue how to read a map
>Thinks taping over the windows on his personal recon speeder will make it "extra tactical"
I thought he asked for personality quirks, not things that are to be expected of officers.

>Is Luigi Cadorna

Luigi did nothing wrong

If ground Stormtrooper/Imperial Army commander:
>Wears armor with rank markings rather than standard officer uniform in order to feel more in touch with his men (whether this works or if he comes off as a total fake ass POG to the troops is up to your discretion)
>Always accompanied by a retainer and/or aide who is constantly running errands for them (delivering messages, etc)

If Navy commander:
>Uses hyper-aggressive tactics, throwing the weight of his ships around with reckless abandon (which he can usually get away with given the immense power of a Star Destroyer vs the rodian-rigged pirate vessels he comes up against most of the time)
>In spite of the above, is rather timid and weak-willed in person, easily intimidated by people with large physiques, and has an annoyingly high-pitched, nasally voice.

>expected of officers.

They're not all like that, unless you're in the US military- then you're pretty much going to get fucked with a powerpoint presentation daily about how its not legal to shoot locals 'because they look a bit gay', molest their women and murder children with grenades and MRE packages. Ultimately its done out of arse-covering, because the military is just day-care for adults with a predilection for killing people

...

So what would be the GFFA equivalent of this beautiful beast right here?

Sometimes, those daily powerpoints are broken up by ceremonies involving legendary weapons of unimaginable power.

...

Fucking air force, of COURSE they have some ridiculous larp paddle of a sword.
Fuck those guys and their computer systems that actually work, and their branch that actually cares about its people as more than just flesh-robots to have perform menial tasks, and their good chow, and their nice barracks...

US Air force is the youngest child of the US military, they have special needs and a bit spoilt

>Secretly in a gay relationship with his SNCO counterpart
>Openly in a gay relationship with his SNCO counterpart
>shit at his job while sober, but a tactical genius drunk
>formerly an enlisted stormtrooper, regardless of branch
>secretly the one drawing cocks on everything
>superweapon nerd
>massive collection of only the most wholesome twi'lek pornography
>has increased crew morale 700% by bringing back the rum ration

>shit at his job while sober, but a tactical genius drunk
>has increased crew morale 700% by bringing back the rum ration
I feel like these two go together like chocolate and peanut butter.

Oh, but he was. He's a Sith after all.
But making a plan to dislocate the Empire after his death? That's so small minded of Palps.
He's a megalomaniac cartoonish villain that build a throne room in a giant artificial planetoid just so he could look at planets go boom. He shouldn't think about his death. He should do everything to ensure his immortality, sacrificing hundreds of younglings in ancient sith rituals, cloning himself dozen of times, shredding the very fabric of space and time to prevent his own demise.
Petty bureaucratic evil? At the lower levels of the Empire, sure, but please, not with Sheev.

Protect that smile, ignore the Contigency.

Whatever the pre-CW era rifle was. Y'know, the kind of thing so old and so cheap, you're astonished when you find it in a Rebel basement in the modern era.

10/10, devil akk dog.

The Executor itself was never nerfed too hard. The film novelization even goes so far as to justify why the Executor didn't annihilate the Rebel fleet as soon as they arrived, and that was due to Chessmaster Palpo-G deciding that ordering it to hold fire would help his plans.

It was the SSD in general that got nerfed, but not very often. Usually it was just inconsistent, but an author or two did some serious injustice to it, primarily Stackpole who seemed convinced that SSD armor was the equivalent of soaked toilet paper.

Then again, I'm not sure if he made SSDs unrealistically weak or the protags unrealistically strong.

>primarily Stackpole who seemed convinced that SSD armor was the equivalent of soaked toilet paper
Most likely because he was going off of the X-wing games, where capital ships ARE that laughably easy to destroy

It's become more of the opposite reaction usually. If you suggest the Emperor or Empire wasn't horribly cartoon-evil, you're more likely to be called a Hux.

This though.

I like to think of Palpatine as more Machiavellian, and I never did nor do like the whole "it's a good thing he's cartoonishly evil", I feel the opposite. And newcanon's crap with him is just insulting no matter how you view the character. Whether cartoonishly evil or ends-justify-the-means Machiavelli, him dismantling the Empire just because he died was cartoonishly stupid and feels like a lazy excuse to shove out the First Order with little to no explanation and to handwave away all that complicated storytelling, drama, military actions, and political intrigue of the Imperial Civil War.
