Well, I'm about to call it a night, but I managed to make some tweaks to the Adeptus Astartes Jumpchain based on the feedback I saw. Think I got the stuff I was getting questions about.

So, Version 2 of the jump for consideration. If I missed something...well...That's what fixing it in V3 is for!

Changelog at the bottom of the document after the notes.

>Fireball
>good with anything

As a self-admitted alcoholic, GET FUCKED.

>Archaeotech Weapon/Machine Spirit
>+100 CP
Do you really want me to be getting points for importing my weapons and vehicles?

>Importing costs extra CP
But why?

It's costed prior, and only recently has "free gear import" been a thing.

There is a good reason why we generally don't have a surcharge for importing stuff anymore, it was stupid.

People will just use out of setting stuff to combine their items.

fucking Jump-Millennials. How dare ye be forced to make choices in a Choose Your Own Adventure.

...Doh.

Well, that's an easy fix for v3, I suppose!

Because if you're adding crazy out-of-jump powers to your guns and making them fit in setting, there's a cost to it?

Jump gives you a fair amount of freebies and your Jumper gets 400 CP extra to spend on Wargear, anyhoo.

Item imports are the worst sort of powerwank and are an enabler for people who want to take the no-powers drawbacks but not have to suffer for it

This is Current Thread of #1864. Get with the times grandpa!

BACK IN MY FUKKEN DAY, YOU KNOW WOT WE DID?

WE HAD FIFTY BAGS FULL OF WEAPONS.

FIFTY OF THEM, SONNY. AND WE COMBED THE JUMPS FOR A DECENT ARMORY.

AND WE LIKED IT.

Does anyone have a claim on Ratatoing?

Sir, may I ask why there is no geneseed sample item?

I mean I could steal it just fine on my own then run off somewhere to experiment, reverse engineer, and then improve it, but...yeah.

It isn't a choice, jumpers have lots of cool shit and getting new stuff is often just not worth it unless it can be receive an import. This is especially true in the case of weapons and armor which will become decorations pretty much immediately after the novelty wears off and you go back to your main stuff you've imported in every jump you could.

Or to put it simply unless you can import your stuff everything but the best you have is a waste of CP that was better spent on perks. If you can import then maybe it's worth it to buy new item to either add new features (like a perk for the weapon) or just to give it a new aesthetic/alt-form.

Sure, sure. And I bet you walked 50 miles uphill both ways when you went to see Jump-chan for your CP too, right old man?

Fuckin' right you are.

Now you kids get it PayPal'd along with a gift receipt.

Whoa whoa I don't know which one of my companions has been blabbing but I never had Jumpchan get CP for- Wait you mean choice points. Yes, we did that too wippersnapper!

What's wrong with Fireball?

It is a bitter swill advertised as "cinnamon whiskey." It betrays you on leaving the bottle and you have something that burns on the way down as it should - and leaves you grimacing in disgust.

>Because if you're adding crazy out-of-jump powers to your guns and making them fit in setting, there's a cost to it?
That cost is in the price of the weapon you are importing your existing weapon into. Very little of it is worth paying CP for at all unless it is to import an existing weapon/armor into, seriously why else would we pay for a bolter when we could just grab one from the chapter armory?

CP Insurance & fiat backing.

>Because if you're adding crazy out-of-jump powers to your guns
No we are importing our existing weapon into a new one we are buying here, the OOC powers are already ours we are adding in context powers.

>making them fit in setting, there's a cost to it?
That would be the price of the weapon we are importing it into.

1) You get an extra 400 CP to spend on Wargear and the like alone. Maybe if I rename it to Wargear Points instead or something. *shrug*
2) You can upgrade it further with combi-weapon, master-crafting, or importing whatever crazy guns you lot have brought along from a previous jump into it so you can give the new gun the old gun's powers and also snagging a new form for how it looks.
3) There's a bunch of shiny ammo types to go with it instead of general 'oh, hey, explosive rocket shells'.

Twas my reasoning, anyhoo.

Are there any other jumps like nine to five that aren't in the generic folder, but also aren't based on any specific setting?

Or the old gun a new shell. Whatever!

Mob I guess. Viking Saga and Greek Myth if you're not too picky.

Curious who "standardized" this instant-item-import nonsense.

>You get an extra 400 CP to spend on Wargear and the like alone. Maybe if I rename it to Wargear Points instead or something. *shrug*
What does that have to do with anything?

>You can upgrade it further with combi-weapon, master-crafting, or importing whatever crazy guns you lot have brought along from a previous jump into it so you can give the new gun the old gun's powers and also snagging a new form for how it looks.
We are already paying CP for all that.

>There's a bunch of shiny ammo types to go with it instead of general 'oh, hey, explosive rocket shells'.
We are already paying CP for all that.

Actually you seem to be rather fond of requiring us to pay CP just to be able to spend CP on other things, which you should really stop doing where ever possible.

Also on the point of combi weapons I would like to point out that you are charging full for two weapons and then charging yet more to downgrade one of them and stick it on the other. It should really be an upgrade for one weapon not a tool for merging two of them.

Thanks!

Giving a weapon a bolter alt form costs 150 CP. Giving a companion a space marine alt form costs 50 CP.

I don't think anyone did, it just kind of happened for the same reason most people ignore diminishing returns. Without imports everything but a few of the best examples of a category in the chain is a waste of CP.

Well not a complete waste, they are still good for collectors pieces but that seems a bit of a sad fate for a lot of items.

Why don't you just talk to him on SB, Record?

Has anyone claimed the rights to a Welcome to Night Vale jump?

Not that I know of, go for it.

No, and you won't either if you know what's good for you.

Don't think so, but we don't respect the claims of Anonymous trash, here.

I'm not claiming it, but I do have some notes on it I work on every once in a while. If someone releases something sooner than I do, that's fine by me.

That would be very hard to make a good jump out of because it has so much powerful, vague and random danger.

That definitely makes it harder, but I think it's doable. We do have some things that are more clearly defined than stuff like the distant prince for example.

maybe include a note on whether or not Antiphasic Shells work on other types of phasing outside of 40K?

you should probably move the Servo Arm,Narthecium,Psyche Hood,Iron Halo, and jump pack closer to the Power Armor section since those are add-ons for power armor.

Yeah, not like I was asking for feedback on stuff like that for the last...two weeks or so before even posting it up here. Heh.

Bah, whatever, it's 3am, I'm too groggy to think straight, I'll stare at it tomorrow or after work like I originally intended to before that jerk Insomnia drop-kicked me awake.

Ah! But said companion can then get TWO bolters with alt-forms! Economy!

Joking, joking.

See ya later Tiki. Other than the import costs I really like the jump so far.

user Heart I have a question about the item import for Variable Weapon,if I have a weapon that magically switched between melee weapon forms, would the firearm I import be available to all of those forms?

Juuni Taisen jump when?

I want to make some "friends".

Smallville jump when?

would you romance the necromantist?

No, I have my sights set on another waifu. We would be best of "friends" though.

Could anyone give me an idea of how powerful "the top tier of Space Marine Psykers" is? Do they have a range of pyschic abilities, or are they still hyper specialised? What sort of biggatons are they throwing around?

>arrive in new world
>fields of corn, a sign by a road
>"Welcome To Smallville, Kansas"
>frak me, I get to meet Superman, this is awesome
>walk into town
>see Clark
>realise which version you're now stuck in for ten years
>...
>JUMPCHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! /kirk

Seriously, I would immediately start derailing so hard.

Never watched Smallville. Is it bad?

It starts off pretty nice, then things go horribly wrong in the following seasons with a few passable to good episodes few and far between.

I have several conflicting ideals of justice I pursue simultaneously.

Pardon the huge filesize. I literally exported raw ass jpgs and slapped them together in photoshop so the compression is absolute tits.

Began work on the basic perks stuff. No specific questions for you guys, but if you have any specific perks you wanna see, I'm here at the moment.

How have your days been?

Reminds me of the Japanese company Cyberdyne.
And the UK military communication satellites called Skynet.

I haven't seen much of it from what I have heard there is a bunch of filler episodes where kryptonite from a meteor shower mutates stuff in random ways. E.g One episode has a fat woman get mutated and she starts eating people.

First couple of seasons range from being pretty good to just average, then it goes to generally being pretty bad to sometimes average with the very rare good episode.

How long until we get a Weyland corporation?

I know about Skynet, but not Cyberdyne...

Should I be scared?

In the xmen movies other than pheonix jean and the apocalyose thing what is there to look out for?

If I recall, they deal in prosthetic and medical equipment.
Not military AI. So we should be fine.
...unless they are working on medical tech to aid that umbrella medcare skin corp to one day build strogg-esc cyborg zombies.

A Shitty origin story with a mouthless Deadpool?

Really, your biggest physical threats would probably just be Magneto and Xavier. The latter especially when in that mind probe room.
The sentinels could also be a problem do to their adaptive abilities, but that only happens in a specific timeline. Their tech is also based entirely on mutant x-genes so they probably wouldn't be able to adapt to any outside powers, especially non-physical ones like Ki and Magic.

There's also Shaw, who gets more powerful as he absorbs energy. Any kind of energy he can get his hands on in the movie, at least. But if you start in the modern era, Xavier and Magneto will have already dealt with him.

Will there be more event scenarios for F/GO?

>How have your days been?
Mostly bored, but hyped again now.

Not entirely sure about Creature Mode forcing you to take on someone else's personality. Doesn't seem that fun to me, especially once we get to space and don't really get to fly around as ourselves instead someone else.

It mentions outside of Creature Mode. Can we actually do something outside it, or not?

Also, we do get our species as an altform past the jump, right?

Anyway... Are we going to get something like Creature Creator to create/modify other species?

Why's Evolutionary History both free and 100cp?

Why is Hundred-Faces Hassan now a waifu instead of a faceless thin old man? I know the meta explaination is "because waifus" but is there a lore one?

Technically Hundred-Faces is all of the Hassans of the time, but F/GO's card had her as the main avatar, and so she is the one that appears in all the fanart and comics

What happens if I take Creature Mode then exit it? Am I just an invincible presence monitoring my species?

Basically this.

My only concern was that it may let you Illuminati-mode your species, which seems to go against the game's idea that you're sorta just guiding them in a general direction. You are right that it's a bit anti-fun, though... Maybe a drawback instead?

There will be perks for outside Creature Mode stuff, yeah. Examples being influencing large swathes of your species at once, the Series 1+ ways of influencing evolution, etc. At base, it is just time acceleration, though.

>Altform
Oh fuck yes.

Yep. There'll be other perks for that purpose, plus a Monolith which does the same thing as the perks except autonomously. Plus, in Space Stage there'll be the Creature Creation Pack or whatever it was called.

>two Evolutionary History
...Oh. Whoops. Sorry, that second one was just me fiddling with formatting.

Invincible presence, yeah. Imagine Tribal and Civilization stage.

So maybe don't offer actual invincibility of indefinite length that you can drag with you in future jumps?

Also, while in control of a creature, do they have access to my powers? Will their death count as a death for me?

You think that's a good W40K jump?
Watch this: docs.google.com/document/d/1l2jyJcCBbxG1i3USDyZp7E0hpksdvH3Es7jTOXSe1jg/edit

That's actually based as fuck. I can see some of my good and evil NPCs banding together to murder the guy who refused to apologize after spilling someone's beer.

Creature mode is a temporary perk that you only get for the jump. Hence the first line: "You will not be directly controlling your species for the maximum duration of your stay here." I'm not sure how maximum snuck it's way in there.

They have your perks, yeah. And no, it won't.

Hundred-Faces special ability when alive was being able to divide their personality, and either some shapeshifting or being really good at disguising theirself.

Then once they became a Servant this was upgraded to 'all of the personalities can be manifested as separate entities with their own bodies and minds'.

So the explanation is that one of the waifu personalities is the one acting as the collectives representative instead of a faceless thin old man.

Too much blah-blah-blah.
Brevity is the soul of wit.

But jumpchain also hangs out with those guys and talks behind your back.

It's hella informal tho, which clashes with the setting of the Jump.

I much prefer the Astartes Jump over the one you linked.

>Starts off pretty strongly
Oh, shit. This looks pretty neat.

>Google the 'I have no mouth and I must scream' speech
...Okay, that may be a tiny bit weird.

>(sexist little pigs)
>followed by a personal rant by the author
Oh dear god please tell me the rest of the jump isn't like that.

It is.

...

Wait, what?
>Ctrl F "pig"
>One sentence later

>Literally all that dialouge after the "Sexist Pig" comment
>Any of that personal shit necissary
Is she seriously throwing a fit females aren't allowed to be psychotic mutated freak of nature who's only service is to fucking die for the glory of the emperor? Nevermind there's already a female equivalent and they seem to be just fine fighting the forces of chaos not even needing any of that fancy power armor shit to be a major contribution of the empire.
SJW's are like some degenerate furry or religious fanatic they have to shove it in everything any chance they get.

>You are now the Phoenix Lord of the Pink Ponies, the cutest, most adorable Aspect Warriors in the entire universe. Your weapon of choice is the cream pie cannon. No one takes you seriously. No, you don’t get a more serious theme once the jump is over.

Ugh.

Using it as a drawback could work, yeah? I'm not too worried about Illuminati-moding myself, considering in game you've got pretty good control over what your species does anyway (at least in my opinion).

>Oh fuck yes.
Muy bueno.

Hm, as for other perks... something to befriend other species' (or Rogues) and/or hunt them down to extinction for the Creature stage?

And not really a perk, but having a friendly Epic creature, either of your species or another, would be cool? Like how you can befriend an Epic's species, or the Omnivore Tribals apparently strike up a friendship with the sea monster thingy.

Did anybody save the redhead shoop of Vert and Green Heart? I just noticed I saved the thumbnails like an idiot.

Sisters proper do get Power Armor though. They just send out the initiates and failures into battle - Space Marines leave their initiates on death worlds, and their failures are already dead.
The Sisters do pretty well for not having absurd foreign genetics stapled onto them. Also, they get a lot cooler flame weapons.

Here, have it fresh from the source. I happened to be around.

So... How do the Mechadendrites and Servo Arms work? Are they attached to the Power Armor, or are they actual cybernetics for techmarines (with maybe holes in the power armor to let them through)?

...

>females aren't allowed to be psychotic mutated freak of nature
This is something that kinda gets me too. I mean, they do realize that space marines are kinda like super mutants right? That IF a female could become a space marine, the extreme modifications they would eliminate any female secondary sexual characteristics and would just look like a normal man astartes?
Not even the vagina matters cause some chapters go so far as to have the genitals removed.
And this is without even getting into the logistical or logical reasons of why you would want your super soldiers, whose process has a very high casualty rate, to be male.

Danke

You assume that said FemNazis care. They want female Space Marines because, apparently, Space Marines are powerful.

Ignoring the fact that the Sisters of Battle have been called on to take out heretic Chapters before.

They see a super special process that only affects men and REEEE! because it's "clearly a sexist statement that women can never become powerful!".

Ignoring the fact that there seems to be more named and still active Living Saints amongst the Sororitas than any other organization in the Imperium. In fact iirc, there are no known Living Saints from the Astartes and Grey Knights at all.

So yeah.

FemNazis.

Can't into Lore because they are too busy REEE!ing over something else. Hell, I bet there was one who campaigned about how "unfair it is that the Vostroyan Firstborns are male only!!" ignoring that the fluff actually allows for a number of worlds to raise all-female Imperial Guard Regiments.

Why male? Because males are stronger & more durable than females. Females are too valuable resource to be wasted. They’re needed to bring about the next generation.

Look at the military tests they did when they were thinking on allowing female units in. Only a handful of women could even pass the basic tests. Plus mixed gender & all female gendered combat teams faired poorly compared to all males.

Also Big E didn’t want a new breed of humans. He wanted super soldiers that will protect not replace humanity. By limiting things to one gender, they ensure that they’ll have more recruits, the recruits will be stronger & tougher, and won’t harm the existing population by depriving them of breeding females. Even those that recruit from underhives, there’s a need to breed more underhivers.

Is someone working on it? If not why don't you do it yourself?
