Can we get a thread with alternative music instruments for your bard?
I assume most on Veeky Forums know the hurdy gurdy already.

Or maybe a little bit more traditional:

For my bard I just went with the ocarina, lyre, and lute. It kind of sucks that choosing the ocarina instantly makes it seem like you're just copying Zelda, because yes, that's how I know about it, but it's also a small, easy to carry, and sturdy instrument that would be easy to play in the middle of a fight.

Good choice. Do you have any songs in mind for the ocarina?
>otamaphone
>what's this? it looks cute
>sounds like hellish ghost kittens in a perpetual state of dying
gotta love that Hurdy-Gurdy, it has the few positive qualities of bagpipes, without (in my opinion) all of the negatives of the bagpipes.
though they are by all accounts a nightmare to tune and keep tuned

>be halfling boy
>grow up on dairy farm
>enjoy the music the traveling bards would play when they passed by the village square
>have no money to buy fancy string or wind instruments and not enough book learnin to figure out how to make them
>have access to tons of cowbells
>learn to master them over the years
>now a halfling man inspiring my party to never give up no matter how little you have to work with
carnyxes are pretty badass, fucking scary and go well with barbarian-themed bards
Agree, that was mildly to moderately horrifying. Still not quite sure what the fuck to think of them.
Guzheng looks quite cool and is actually used in Kung Fu hustle as weapon.

pic is is guqin but they look quite similar.
this is how Hurdy-Gurdy player should look like: youtube.com
I want to see a bard play some kind of horn but they always go for strings.

The cat piano.
The perfect instrument for an evil bard.
>cat piano
most devilish.
My god. These are beautiful.
Mmmm, that Zither is delicious. I'll have to keep that in mind for my bard.
Those people are either really bad at playing them, had shitty recording instruments, or were deliberately playing up the horror angle. Check out the other recordings of those instruments on youtube.

He plays it at 2:00
I think the most amazing thing about the Hang (that's what you've got there) is that it isn't an OLD instrument: it's a MODERN instrument. The Hang was invented in Switzerland of all fucking places in 2000 and wasn't 'really' perfected until around 2007.
And this is all insane to me because I've heard the Hang in all sorts of tropical or ocean themed songs and I always just thought it was a traditional instrument: Jamaicans fuckin' use it and Hawaiins or whatever, but it ISN'T, IT IS NOT.
In question you could always use the female clerics underwear.

It's pretty much just a steelpan turned inside out and played with ones bare hands instead of sticks.

My favorite Hurdy-Gurdy player.

I've literally never played a game of D&D with a bard using one o' these.
>Perform (Sex)
1.) Water drums
2.) Bladder fiddles
3.) Musical bows
How to apply these...
I've always wanted to play a bard like this.
