I get to play for the first time in six months this weekend, so there's that.

im grateful for tits in Veeky Forums material

I'm glad that we only have to see two or three pointless Ribbonfag threads on the board at any given time. I can't imagine what Veeky Forums would be like if anyone besides the artist spammed these threads.

Boob plate.

Honest response:

I'm thankful for my roleplaying group. We've been playing together weekly and growing in members for like 10 years. We play a decent variety of games, most of us are willing to GM and we rotate campaigns/systems a few times a year. We're pretty good friends, everyone gets along, and we hang out with each other outside of our weekly game. There's no major drama, nothing like the That Guy horror stories I read on here. I feel genuinely lucky.

I appreciate that.

the freedom to say what I want to,
even if I don't mean it.

This.
Although right now there is some drama I am on the cusp of crushing.

I am grateful for lolis

Loli vampires, loli demons, loli aliums, loli robots, every loli under the sun and collecting dust on fa/tg/guy shelves

I'm grateful for a group, that when I went too far and introduced the rape goblins from Berserk into our game, calmly told me that's not the kind of game they wanted to play. A few note adjustments later, and we're still playing that campaign.

I am thankful for my group, even the wannabe That Guy (he's an autist that doesn't pick up social cues that insists on being a semi-face in L5R, mostly to hilarious ends). I am thankful that I am not stuck playing 3.x D&D or not playing at all. I am thankful that I found a wife that accepts my hobbies as valid and doesn't care if I indulge them weekly.

OP here. Is there something you want to talk about? You sound upset.

Yes.
This still remains one of the prime examples.

Alcohol.

Indeed.

I've got health, home, and a hoard of games to try out this Saturday.

being a gamemaster
really soothes my god complex

I am grateful that certain IPs got bought by a company that wants to do them justice.

I am grateful that I don't often feel judged for my hobbies.

I am grateful that the cats stay out of my bitsbox.

Amen brother.

Got a job starting Monday after moving to a new area.

And I'm also thankful for my chosen family, they've been there for me through thick and thin.

I'm thankful for medication and therapy working, and that for the first time in well over a decade, I've actually felt like myself for more than little starts and stutters.

I'm thankful I was able to start working out, and that I feel like I can push forward with it, and that I feel confident that I've got it in me to get better.

I'm thankful for Veeky Forums for existing, because it's how I met the two wonderful people I'm dating, and it's partly because of them that I've managed to make it this far down the road to unfucking my life.

I hope all your games go well and that you all have as good a time as you can, and that your lives bring you nothing but joy. And if they don't, that you remember that you have it in you to change it, no matter what the circumstances. And if you don't, then there's someone who'll be there for you, even if you don't know it yet.

I'm grateful that my wife is very supportive of my Veeky Forums hobbies, even to the point where she will start an army just so I can have someone to play with because I'm having a hard time finding groups otherwise.

I'm also thankful for all the great communities here on Veeky Forums. I don't think I'd ever have had the confidence to put a brush to a miniature if it wasn't for the /wip/ thread and duncan

I understood that reference.

I too, would like to thanks boobs everywhere, particularly the ones on my wife, for being sexually stimulating and comforting-in-a-motherly-way both. They truly are the best things.

Finding out about narrative game systems

Also, having friends; Jesus Christ, some of you people must fucking suffer to no end either depending on randoms or never ever playing a TTRPG.

Oh, you misunderstand, user. I don't suffer with randoms. I make them suffer with me.

Damn Rorschach, I thought you was dead

The US that keeps pushing their traditions, ideals, morals and politics to the rest of the world. The standard for every country.

"I get that a lot."

I'm grateful for having absorbed the social grace and common sense necessary to avoid being an asshole.

I'm grateful for all the wonderful games I've gotten to be a part of since coming here.
(first was a vampire game in 2013, every game I've been since then has come about though connections directly or indirectly from Veeky Forums.)

This board saved my life when I was crippled to the point that my hands and feet weren't working. since I could still use voice commands and speech to text to participate in a game that had started with contact on here.

Did they grow back?

Me too!

Preach it.

I'm grateful for Veeky Forums for introducing me to a LDR that's lasted for 3 years, helping me become a better and more creative person, helping me become more confident in myself, and helping me get in at a job interview. The things I've learned from Veeky Forums and tabletops are lessons I use pretty commonly in my work noe and the people management from DMing is now basically my job. It's been a stellar 4ish years guys, thanks for the highs and lows, the laughs and the cries.

I'm grateful that Veeky Forums provides me with plenty of qt patooties with nice hooties and booties.
On a more serious note I'm thankful for all the useful pdfs that make dming for me a whole lot easier.

I'm actually thankful for all the arguing.

Not gender or politics or whatever other shitpost happens to come up, the fighting over settings and rule sets. It's nice to see someone come at something I really enjoy and make me think about it a little in a new sense, it really helped me broaden my horizons by helping me change the way I think about P&P's and Wargames.

So thanks you bunch of angry autists

Your welcome faggot

...

I'm thankful for Veeky Forums. something about the anonymous space that is Veeky Forums and its venn diagram intersection with the nerd space of traditional games makes such a reliable, comfortable place on the interwebs. no matter where else I go; other boards, other sites that place called outside. No matter what vidya or movies or other entertainment may pull my interest away, I can always come back here, and see how bad we all are at magic, how much everyone hates at least one edition of D&D, and someone talking about WH40k and/or how much money GW wants from everyone. Thanks for being the closest thing to home the internet has to offer me Veeky Forums. I love you guys.

Mechwarrior 2.
Without it, I would have never found out about the Battletech franchise.
In turn, I wouldn't have discovered all the novels, books, and the CCG when I was in middle school.
In turn, I wouldn't have found out about the tabletop game.

Likewise, I'm thankful for Veeky Forums, for always keeping the general warm and giving me alternatives to the overpoliced OF or the barren one-post-a-month alternatives.

i'm grateful for idle animations

>aerodynamically designed

And people say it's not practical.

I'm grateful for TTRPG, monster girls, and anime, as those things give me an escape from the monotony and pointlessness of life.

Oh and muscle girls and shitposting.

I'm grateful that I still am not numb to the pain of life, for it means I am still alive and human. Woe is the day when the wretchedness of humanity makes me feel absolutely numb with indifference.

>shitposting
I'd be grateful for less of this, but the rest is good

That I have the opportunity to go to community college and better myself. Studying computer info systems, which I enjoy. Hopefully I'll go to a proper university some day.

I'm grateful that my gf puts up with my incessant chatter about the arguments I get in on Veeky Forums, GURPS, and other various nerdy shit. Hell, she joins me in nerdy shit half the time.

Boobs. They're pretty fuckin' nice.

That I have access to clean water, food when I need it, 1st world stuffs, etc.

That I haven't had any major health issues the last couple years. Chronic pain has been a constant in my life, but it's been more manageable since my body stopped growing.

That there are anonymous people on the internet who aren't total fags. Plenty of informed, friendly discussions on Veeky Forums, despite the volume of flaming and shitposting.

I'm gonna run a fun little oneshot tomorrow with some friends after thanksgiving dinner. A campy horror game in Arkham, where the PCs chase down the mysterious Gobbler from its trail of discarded cans of cranberry sauce, stop a ritual sacrifice, and fuck up some nazis. Maybe not in that order.

Our first great codex in many editions, both lore and rules wise.

The free PDFs in the share thread.
Thanks Veeky Forums.

My DM for putting in the effort that he does and letting people in a West Marches have a motive other than get loot.

I want to hug that spider

Man, I don't nearly thank my DM enough.

I'm thankful for all of the creative setting and campaign ideas that I have been lucky enough to see come out of Veeky Forums. Even if I can't run them all myself, I'm glad that there are crazy, creative folk like you all around.

I'm thankful for the player playing the half-orc barbarian with an int of 6, giving us some great moments such as "dad god" and "the bone man who's going to steal your feet."

I'm also thankful for the DM in the game I'm playing. This the first game he's DM'd (in a while) and he's come a long way from where he started.

Also my fiancee for also liking nerdy stuff.

Please elaborate; what goals and how did you get them?
Newbie west marcher here, I tried making my players be able to share info on facebook about what they discover and warn other players about dangerous foes and shit.

the shared pdfs, the discussion, the shitposting, the ideas about settings, the worldbuilding inspiration, the greentexts and stories and common jokes (except for Tee Hee Macaroni which isn't fucking funny) and the fact that a board about traditional games can talk about most things because of the things you can put in a traditional game.

I'm thankful that there is usually something at least interesting happening on Veeky Forums every day, and quite a number of good ideas and sources of inspiration here.
i'm also thankful for /srg/ being better than the subreddit. And the free pdfs

And that Canadian thanksgiving was weeks ago.

Some dude who looks like Kojima. Gave me a fuckton of cards even though we just met for the first time.
Tits on Veeky Forums
The opportunity to make settings and jokes with you bastards
That I'm fucked because I spent my college money on paying bills. Yeah really, thank you God. Thanks for not bailing me out. Now I'm gonna lose fingers and my home.

Boobs.

Welcome, even though we too often argue about pointless shit and have our very own autist retards ("the Periphery shouldn't have mechs" fag, for instance).

We're all working together to push back a 'Deadzone' which surrounds the city in an irregular shape. We are all collecting info to deal with this, but we all have secondary goals too. Mine is to find where the Lost Dwarven City is, a shardmind's is to put spirits to rest, a Forest Gnome in the group is working to praise Eldath and expand the forests, I previously was working to expand the districts in the city, build temples to Deities that show up, and recover their relics. I was also working against three Goddesses: Besheba, Talona and Shar, who are trying to ressurect Sseth and I had to fight their followers. Another person is an Aasimar who is working to protect the children of the city and has raised a religious militia and now has 3 Lieutenants who have worked to gain an aspect of Tiamat's blessing, ET CETERA.

Pic related is the group.

Very well done, loving it.
How would you fare if characters got goals that encroached on one another? Such as, the Gnome gets the forest but then the Dwarf's road to the lost city gets fucked over by a thick magical forest growing on it, and you now must find a new way in (can't mine the forest because it's gonna offend both the gnome and Eldath).
Thinking about springing such a deal on my players someday.

We each received an additional background to choose from. Initially it was Prewar, Deadzone Nomad, or New Farelian born. However when I joined as a Kenku Cleric, the DM made a new background for me called a "planeswalker" and I was pulled here to the city because of my religious deity. We all also got boons for these backgrounds. I personally got a few stat boosts, I don't get tired in the astral sea, and I got two uncommon magic items. New Farelian born get all standard languages, a feat and other stuff, Prewar gets two feats, and Dead Zone Nomad gets DR, a resistance to damage random per day, immune to the Dead Zone's effect, and more. When my Kenku Cleric got Planeshifted back to Faerun (long story), I rolled up a Warforged and since none of those backgrounds really fit my idea, the DM made a new background called the Ironborn. Another player unlocked another background called the 'Nature's Guardian', and I'm sure if I died and came to him with an interesting concept, I could get another background.

There's a Rumor Mills channel in the discord as well as a game summary channel. The DM puts rumor and makes us a map and we write in the game summary. There's a lot of moving pieces in the background that we can attach ourselves to. For example our guy and Sif over there are working with the Moon Fanatics to restore their lost order because IRL he fucking loves the moon as he slept under the stars as a kid IRL. I personally first time gave him a concept, he gave me a mission, and I did new missions as I saw fit for my character. My only mission from the beginning was to Protect the City, but I took on a lot of other burdens as per the nature of Bird Jesus.

We've had this happen actually. There are no Dwarves so I'm a Warforged doing Dwarf stuff, but there are Primordials fighting for control over the city. For a time people were fighting over Water and Fire, but now we're trying as a group to get them all to fuck off. Cont.

There are also outposts we had to choose on. We had a meeting with all seekers to decide which outpost to reinforce, which we only got the supplies because all of my Downtimes as Bird Jesus were either to building Temples or growing districts. We don't bicker much except for Robocop and the Forest Gnome but that's more OOC than IC. There are also factions in the game but it's more like we're specializing: I made the Dawnbringer faction and we focused on religious revival and problems, there was a Circle of the Shepherds, I was also part of the Circle of Nirseinth (the good aspect of Tiamat who helps to protect the city), a Crimson Hand which works for more mercenary / beast hunting jobs, a Black Cloaks which is more internal problems than anything and scouting, and the Loretree Library which is similar to the Dawnbringers but Dawnbringer exists because the only PC in the Loretree Library never responded with my request to join, so I made my own.

The odds are stacked against us so we all get along pretty well. We all also are a small west marches so that helps.

I don't have much more to say, but the DM works pretty hard to keep us from infighting too. I'm currently looking for old Dwarven tunnels that run under the ground and I'm going to be leading groups into the Dead Zone / travelling there myself in DTs to do things. I've also recovered airship parts which I've taken to the Forge Clerics who will be working with a Planeswalker from Eberron to build them.

Basically, just make a lot of moving parts but have the players know about a lot of them, or at least hint. Prewars, New Farelians, and Dead Zone nomads also get Discoveries more often than others as they have memories.

Here's the DTs (every in game week we get one, up to 3. Past that we have to work in our home district.)
homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/BJ-fnpdeNb

And here's the special backgrounds. We get a lot of Buffs, but we're fighting fucking plane shifting Rakshasas, Rocs, and Giant Purple Worms so it's fine. The Dead Zone is also deadly as fuck. homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/rJUKP4Iz-

tyvm
Personally I'd throw a few wrenches your ways if I was GMing, but after like, 20ish sessions when you're all friends IC and OOC.

We're 44 sessions in atm. Trust me, an Oni and a rakshasa are fucking us up out of sessions. Also there's lots of NPCs and sometimes we piss them off without knowing; a bunch of myconids no longer want to speak to us because a Dwarf bartender (part of a rumor I went on) was arrested after we figured out he was unintentionally poisoning the people who drank at his bar with myconid parts that were forcefully given to him by a thieves' guild as to addict the customers. I was here, but I couldn't convince the leader of the black cloaks and one of the other seekers to not arrest him because I was a Kenku and I did not have those voice lines. But we all know it's a game.

Hell, we almost died because we recovered a Stone of Mithlonde (things that might be relevant to fighting the Deadzone, they're Legendary-tier items and have to cleansed of corruption before use) and like 50 nightelves on wolf-like creatures chased them but I had a Gem of Truesight so I was able to lead the group through a forest of illusions to lose the wolf riding Elves.

Make a lot of NPCs, give them goals, and let the PCs talk to them IF THE NPC WOULD LIKE THEM. Having them respond differently makes me very happy.

>And that Canadian thanksgiving was weeks ago.

There's a Canadian what now?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving_(Canada)

I'm thankful for this board, honestly. I had this unitched tism for tabletops and its nice to get it out somewhere. so thanks, Veeky Forums

I'm happy you autismal faggots are all here to share your mental disasters and interesting insights into games with me.

Also thankful for free PDFs, boobs, and art threads.

>all these people thankful for boobs

That better include the patrician chest

I'm grateful for my group being irl friends before we started gaming.
Also thankful for classic cheesecake!

...

Having a regular game, with people who actually know how to act in social situations AND roleplay well, and I can hang out with outside of gaming.

This

Yeah, bingo

I don't like boys.

Same here. Whatever people say about this site, I've found that the anonymity and temporary nature of threads can make it a better place for discussion than some forums I used to hang out on. It keeps the community from getting too entrenched in certain topics or hung up on drama for long. I'm looking at you, RPG net.

what's the source for this pic

As a poor sack of shit, I'm grateful for the free PDFs I can get from pastebins and the generous Anons who were willing to share them.

Not to be edgy, but honestly not for much of anything.

It's Cestree, Veeky Forums's succubus.

Not even for this song?

I'm thankful to have a wife who can smile and listen while I blather on about 40k and genuinely wants to start an Ork army.

Where does one find such a thing

I'm thankful I have a roof on my head, a family that loves me, and wish the same for the rest of u.

Honest answer was taking a chance on a Longshot and not letting the fact that we lived in different states and met over Xbox live get in the way. 8 years later we're married.

The knowledge that my lot in life is determined by the choices that I make and that with some will, effort and the courage to face to consequences of the changes I make, that I can set my life down a path that I see fit.
