Wounds are not damage user. Lascannon inflict only one wound but each wound deal several damages.

Why are Superheavy Flyers always so meh? Can't speak for the Tau ones, but the Stormbird is overcosted as fuck as usual, the Thunderhawk is if anything worse and only the Marauder Destroyer is good with the whole "8 Range Meltaguns a turn" thing. How are the Tigersharks and the Manta? The big boy was also pretty useless last edition because it only had two single-shot guns over AP3 and then a whole bunch of extremely expensive S5 AP5.

No, it has eight Hellstrikes, which are basically Meltaguns with less AP and long range since they reroll damage and aren't oneuse. Plus a bombing run, six autocannons, 2 Assault Cannons and 2 Heavy Bolters, for 460pts on a 20W T7 3+ Flyer that can move and shoot at full. Good for deleting one Dread and one unit of infantry per turn.

Well, it wasn't useless, but it did cost more than a Reaver for not a huge amount of damage. Unless you're running that entire armada from the Tau Alliance story I doubt it would be mega worthwhile. Cool as fuck, and 30k Mechanicum can technically steal one and load Their Dudes inside because Forge World cannot into rules.

Yeah, 8th, there's new stuff going on. Get the big rulebook, it has a lore overview. Then you should go and read what you fond interesting from there. Either in codexes or in what you can find online in places like Lexicanum. Or you could go to read some novels and stuff. Depends on what you like.
